Landwarrior87 0 Posted December 20, 2003 I have some suggestions for the next update (If theres going to be one)I think you should remove the "Saddam Ace of spade" card from the soldiers, it looks really silly IMO. ummm.. i freaking love that little card up there.. it just makes them look more.. dunno how to say but "Fieldy".. keep the card... the only thing id want to see changed thats do-able is a unit labeled Officer to take the spot of the guy with no helmet.. and change the Squad Leader with the Helmet.. havent seen to many marines in action with that little officers cap... and just a couple of snipers, one for each side.. no new models or anything.. just the a sniper weapon.. the West could use the guy with the boonie hat.. and East with the thing the spetz natz wear. dreday 1 Posted December 21, 2003 I think that Earl had done an outstanding job on all the weapons. However, there is a problem with RPG-16. In real life, RPG-16 uses a sub-caliber rocket. That means that the rocket is loaded inside the tube of a rocket launcher and reamins there untill fired. Hence, you would never see the rocket on top of the laucher. This system is similar to the one used on Carl Gustav, and quite different from RPG-7. Is there anyway to fix this in the future releases? On a side note, RPG-16 has been taken out of Russian service in the late 1980s. They are what they are if you don't like something don't use it but don't start demanding new stuff what hours after the initial release, seriously be grateful for what you have. As far as editing scripting and effects read the readme play with the units lol even unpbo them but lesson #1 learn the comref since half the questions I've seen are basic and self explanatory. Earl great job on the weapons no work needed, Suchey !$!$ing awesome job on the units we've redone them enough. To everyone else start making some missions. Tex -USMC- 0 Posted December 21, 2003 In reference to a comment on the grenade launchers a while back: Earl is my own personal Jesus Christ for having created functioning iron sights for the grenade launchers. There are a massive number of things in this pack that I could say that I love, but without a doubt the grenade launcher's sights in general (and the m203's in particular) are my favorite part of the entire MAP. I don't know about the rest of you, but these are going to keep me entertained for a loooooong time. Now if we can just goad Jocko into making some more missions... The burst sound has a lot more bass in it, it sounds completely different from the single one. Okay, logic would say -> three rounds would mean 3x more bass, right? But no, it still doesn't sound right, it doesn't sound like three rounds of the single shot, and I notice it every time I fire. In case you want to know. And I don't really like the fact that Woodland marines have Saddam cards? Surely the majority of troops in Iraq have Desert camo, and the ones that don't have the OLD woodland camo, right? Ah, big deal. I've only been playing with the Russians, anyway. @Dreday: I quite like the fact that they have an RPG-16 since eevery Russian addon nowadays uses Kegetys' RPG-7. JdB 151 Posted December 21, 2003 I have a problem: I can't use the MAP addon unless I remove all of my other custom addons in both Addons folders. Because, if I don't I will either get: Green screen (that won't go away with alt+tab) Out Of Memory error INVALID PROCEDURE CALL error I've tried making a mod folder, but the MAP units didn't show up in the editor. Once you've got that installed, add the -nomap command to your shortcut (theres loads of threads about it here, or check Avons FAQ) and then the problem will go away.
