raedor 8 Posted August 18, 2004 [...]I'll tell you what, if you and your parents get sick of your pet, please, feel free to send it to me I promise i will take good care of it They're VERY expensive you know, in a pet store nearby they have a lot of reptiles. Actually it's specialized in reptiles so that would make it a reptile store For a baby testudo hermanni boettgeri you pay almost € 200. That's a lot of money for an animal the size of a big coin Especially considering the fact that they need special care = $$$ [...] They rock! i'm sure we're not gonna get sick of it i really love it! oh, our pet is a bit bigger than a coin. the tortoise shell is ca 25cm x 15cm big. but 200€ are much money... but as soon as you own it, it does not cost much money (ok, it costs time). it sleeps from september/october to april/may. you can feed it with salad, dandelions, strawberrys... oh yes, they do rock! @maximus: buy a landrover defender! @migebuff: kronach? not very far from here

Quote[/b] ]oh, our pet is a bit bigger than a coin. the tortoise shell is ca 25cm x 15cm big. but 200€ are much money... but as soon as you own it, it does not cost much money (ok, it costs time). it sleeps from september/october to april/may. you can feed it with salad, dandelions, strawberrys... Wow (s)he's pretty big already, probably won't grow that much anymore i guess... As you said, buying them is the hardest part cause they can be rather expensive if you buy them in a pet store. But pet stores are always expensive. If you want to save some money, you shouldn't buy your stuff there in the first place. The tortoises are so expensive because ppl often buy one of those "cheap little turtle ninjas" while they wanted to buy dogfood in the first place. Now they're "expensive little turtle ninjas" and that changes everything of course. I think it's a good thing that they're expensive, ppl that shouldn't be keeping these animals won't buy them very fast. If you have changed your mind already about keeping it, let me know After all, aren't those tortoises annoying animals? Oh yeah i'm sure you hate that stupid animal, just dump it where i live, ok? Quote[/b] ]oh yes, they do rock! They sure do I have 2 bearded dragons, very cool animals... They're small lizards +- 50cm max They eat crickets, all kinds of worms, slugs, grasshoppers, vegetables and some fruit once in a while. Here's a link to a pic from my female dragon hunting a grasshopper Female dragon I have some nice pics of my animals, i might try to upload them and put'm in the real life pic thread... Tovarish 0 Posted August 21, 2004 Beauty is in the eye of the beholder . Nah seriously, it's not ugly, but it is a bit out of focus (which gives it an artistic quality anyway), and like my camera, I notice yours gets a little "noisy" in the dark. It's a pain in the ass but you can usually remedy it by some editing, like turning up the contrast. Just see these two pics of mine (same pic, first one unedited, second one edited). Tovarish 0 Posted August 22, 2004 lol seriously? to me it looks bland compared to the edit. Plus, you can't really tell much in the downsized version I put up here, but the original had a lot of blue dots in the black areas, plus a couple of strange whitish bubble like objects. The editing got rid of all that .
SpeedyDonkey 0 Posted August 23, 2004 lol seriously? Both yes and no. While the edited one does look better it is a tad too dark. I would love to see a little bit more of the actual church.

Yes I know, I tried finding the best balance of quality/visibility.Like I said, my camera doesn't like the dark BTW it's not a church but the Peace Tower, the main building of the Canadian parliament. Anyways, I just took a little camping trip this weekend: Part 1 - On the way there. The road to Athens: Athenian Horses:

CosmicCastaway 0 Posted August 25, 2004 What sort of work did you do for them mate? It was some design work for a client. They used to provide the ground vehicles the Red Arrows used when going to shows and events like that. The photos were taken at the handover of the new vehicles for the year, 2002 I think it was. I was technically there to take notes and images of the handover ceremony, then work them into some 'pleasing to the eye' publicity materials. Although I spent most of the time playing with the aircraft instead.
