ahh very nice update. ive updated both my ECP and the GMR mods this week. and tested both today. im pretty sure the update is cooler. but i cant tell the differnce in game between the GMR and ECP effects tounge_o.gif i just know then when i blow up a tank, the GMR fire is there, when i disembark from my aircraft the INQ weapon is there. when i run the DR sound is there, and when i die the ECP spectator script is there.

what more can an OFP player ask for but these 2 mods. expsily when one lucky SOB (namely me) finds a way to run them both at the same time, by accident lol biggrin_o.gif

I'm not sure if this has been said already but one problem that I have found is that the V-80 (Kamov) does not exhibit any rotor downwash.  All the other choppers work fine.  Is it an easy fix in the settings.sqs or other?

This is not a bug with the ECP, BIS defined the V80 as a plane. When the ECP checks for chopper types, it won't find the V80.

The dynamic sound didnt seem to work wink_o.gif I put it in the ECP/addon dir and i cant hear any different sound wink_o.gif

From the readme.txt

Not enough to place the DynamicRange.pbo in addons folder. You need to use the right config.bin. Try to move the config.bin from "ECP_Beta_1.02\@ECP\updated DR bin" to the "bin" folder.

Just tried the latest version. Very nice improvements. I love the grenade. I don't imagine it's possible to make it bounce, though, right? I can't think of any way to script that well. As it stands, though, it's a great improvement.

The explosions look much better in this release. Nice.

The only thing that I'd suggest now is that, since goldmember is working with you, to maybe incorporate more from his smoker config. The fires that you guys have are beautiful, but the column of smoke seems too shallow to me. It looks kind of odd. IMO Sigma-6 has the best smoke effect in the ONS vehicles.

Oh. And here's a request for making the debris stick around and smolder or burn like in GMR mod. tounge_o.gif

Very nice work, though. This version has replaced GMR mod for me.

why the hell would you want to let an grenade bounch on grass or so?...i mean an grenade isn't really made to bounch

How can I activate Goldmember's explosion effects? I don't see vehicle explosions, dustwaves, burning debrises at all. Besides no see your vehicle fire and smoke effect too.

I cant get the ECP, or any other mod for that matter to work from my 1.94 shortcut.

What does your shortcut look like? This is what mine looks like:

If you still can't get the ECP to work using a shortcut, maybe you would like to download Kegetys OFP launcher. With this you can select what MODs you want to run by checking a box, no messing with shorts needed!

It would be possible to make the grenade bounce, though as Speeeedy said, grenades wouldn't bounce that much on grass.

If you want to do it, you would have to get the velocity just before it hit the ground (as soon as it hits the ground its velocity changes to [0,0,0]) Get the angle at which it hits the ground, then reduce the velocity it bounces in relation to the energy lost when it hits the ground.

@djukel: Are you sure the ECP is activated? If not look at my previous post.

I am not sure why the effects wouldn't be working for you, do another test and destoy 5 vehicles then let me know the results.

Also, make sure in your -mod= line that @ECP is the first thing there, or it will not be applied to any of the addons listed before it. I almost thought it wasn't working until I realised I had it at the end of my mod line smile_o.gif

Fire and explosions doesn't work right for me. I have goldmembers explo addon (v1.47 I think), it worls ok. But with ECP, I don't get burning vehicles nor do i get the nice explosions from goldmembers addon (I ue the middle fire ones). As config, i use the new DR config. And settings in the sqs seem to be OK as well.

But no nice fire effects...

This is not shortcut problem. I replaced beta 1.0 and worked fine with these shortcut. I copied back beta 1.02, blood, bullet whiz working but still no explosion effect. I have downloaded EPC_beta1.02.zip from OFPEC.com, maybe this version is wrong? sad_o.gif

Are you replaying a mission that you started with ECP Beta 1.00? What units are you using to test this?

I have just made 2 screenpics of the explosions working in game:

This shows (from right to left) a BMP, scud, T72 and a Ural truck on fire.

This shows a scud at the start of the explosion.

Maybe you could try the effects with these units and let me know how it goes? If it still doesn't work you can add me to your ICQ list 113172658.

In Version 1.00, the BIS-Addons worked fine with the Explosions and Burn-Effects. But not the other Addons like Inv44/WWIIEC etc.

In Version 1.02, i think there are the Smoke-Effects for ALL Addons, but no Explosion and Burn-Effects. I tested in Editor with the official Addons and the Inv44/WWIIEC Addons.

Having played with the new ECP for a while I can honestly say that I love every bit of it except the explosions. Although they are apparently Goldmember's they don't quite seem the same as when running his own mod. Does the ECP use the smoker version? I never seem to get the big fireball effect that I frequently got with the GMR (and I've blown up a LOT of stuff in testing), and I haven't seen the smoke 'tentacles' that he implemented in recent releases. Also, I liked the way debris remained on the ground with that mod, and the way there were various different smoke effects so that after a battle some destroyed vehicles had huge columns of black smoke drifting skywards whilst others had very little or none, just to add variety. If the ECP was basically exactly how it is now but with all of GM's explosion effects fully implemented it would be the ultimate config for OFP. As it is now I still feel divided between the two. sad_o.gif

Just some feedback anyway. Please don't take the wrong way. smile_o.gif
