Landwarrior87 0 Posted September 2, 2003 as good as it may sound... the scripting for this might not be a big as payoff.. because at the end of the day we just want the littlebirds to drop the delta/rangers off in.. adding this is just adding something else we have to worry about is falling off the bench.. ive never heard of this happening (Not to say it cant Happen) but things like hummvee's slings snapping off of chinooks might be a bit more common than a delta falling off a littlebird. Sweet_pup 0 Posted September 2, 2003 Absolutely. I totally understand where you are coming from. If someone was to use these helos like they are generally used in BAS style missions (Nicer transports, not usually player operated, AI takes care of the flying) then this wouldn't be a big deal. And it could be a pain in the ass in multiplayer. I'm just looking at realism. That's all. Also, your right here too Landwarrior, I've never heard of them falling off. But, I credit that to the attachment harness, but even more than that, the skill of a Night Stalker Pilot. They have to be at their peak 24 fuckin 7. That's why they're the best Even if one of them did break: 1. Centrifugal Force should hold them on to the bench long enough for them to alert the pilots to the emergency. 2. If any Special Forces operator ever did die like that. It would proabably be kept under wraps. Not very comforting to know that the best your country has to offer is falling off helicopters. (This is not my opinion, just my idea of the average CIVIL/Non Military opinion. I back my Military 110%) But for the average OFP beginner pilot, this could lead to some unwanted fraternicide. I, not to brag, consider myself a mean mothafucka behind the controls of a OFP helo So for me, and most other BAS helo pilots, I think this would add a level of Immersion and challenge to the average "Night Stalker" mission. Still, just an idea, I could really use the feedback of some BAS fellas to get a better idea of game engine limits, and see what they think of this. As long as they don't steal my idea.... Evis... is that you... why do you have chloroform? Whisked off to a land of puppy dogs, candy canes, and rape... Sweet_pup

ruff 102 Posted September 2, 2003 are the relflex aimpoints and the normal red dot aimpoints going to be smaller like the holo sights u released with the soars??? it just that u can aim better that way dunno how large it is in real life
Eviscerator 0 Posted September 2, 2003 How do you mean smaller? On the model or in the optic view? Oh and the reflex isnt an Aimpoint, Aimpoint is the name of the company that makes the M68 CCO thats used on our weapons (think the civilian name is Comp ML) however the range of sights made by Aimpoint are also referred to as Aimpoint's, the ACOG Reflex is made by Trijicon, not to be confused with the ACOG TA01-NSN x4 sight in our addon. acidcrash 0 Posted September 2, 2003 im guessing you mean the red dot in the center made smaller? yes personally i think they are a tiny bit too big and make aiming at distant targets hard...but hey thats why BAS is putting ACOG on the M14... right?
Lifter 0 Posted September 2, 2003 well.. dots from reddotsight and tritium sights are pretty big.. and in the reflex2 case, I'm guessing they made the NSN version (military's choise if you will) and that one has the big dot.. there are alot of different versions of it (triangle, small dot, big dot so on)
Guest jacobaby Posted September 2, 2003 Re Slung loads and drag effects.... My research and stats plus gameplay issues dictates the speeds fot eh slung loads, althought eh Mh60 is accurate. Having a slung load places incredible drag and other forces on the helicopter. If humans are suspended on a rope (eg SPIES) beneath a helo, then airspeed is also minimised, although in this case to prevent hypothermia from chilling effects (55 knots in cold weather, 75 knots otherwise or so I believe). Correct me if im wrong but theres not much likelihood of guys falling of the planks, especially as they are clipped on. Keep the ideas coming though..... Sweet_pup 0 Posted September 2, 2003 jacobaby- I understand what you mean. I'm just looking for ways to make it difficult for players to actually pilot these helos. Just to make those who fly 160th helos, to have OFP equiviant talent. But that ruins it for those of us who can't fly worth a crap, right Evis? Sweet_pup 0 Posted September 3, 2003 BAS- When the MH-47 pack is re-release (Unleashed) will we be seening a standard version of the CH-47? That was one of the things I really like about the H-60 Pack. It came with a nice, non-spec ops, version of the Blackhawk. Might we see the same with the H-47 series. Would it be possible to just modify the SEB Nam Pack 2 CH-47? A black one of those with a little shine and some scripting would proabably do the job. dm 9 Posted September 3, 2003 No, we wont be doing a regular Army CH-47. We don't have the time, and there is allready a semi-decent one made by BIS.
Sweet_pup 0 Posted September 3, 2003 Deadmeat- That's cool with me. I don't imagine too many people would be flying it, when they could fly the MH-47E. Although it would be nice to get some new SEAL pics, or maybe more detail on their Scripts/vehicals/ or weapons... anything NEW! Â Please... I'm an OFP junkie who needs a BAS fix Sweet_pup

4 IN 1 0 Posted September 3, 2003 it would be nice to get some new SEAL pics, or maybe more detail on their Scripts/vehicals/ or weapons... anything NEW! Â all i really want to know now is that will those SEALs really knew how to swim, dive, etc(which so far i dont think they will have that ability).............. but would be nice to see a pic or more piece of detail
ruff 102 Posted September 3, 2003 i dont really think the first seal addon bas is going to release should be able to swim like the coc swimmers the uniform for example is a flight suit i reckon they should give the next seal team they create ability to swim like if they were the forward recce for seals landing by sea for example most likely if they were wearing a diving suit

dm 9 Posted September 4, 2003 Can't comment on the Desert Pack progress, as you guys rightly figured, its a secret As for the SEALs the first team we are making is SEAL Team 8, who specialise in "VBSS" (which is Vessel Board Search and Seize) and therefore do not have a requirement to swim - most of their operations are carried out from small boats or helicopters. However, for future SEAL packs, who knows

dm 9 Posted September 4, 2003 is it seal team 8 because you guys played to much counterstrike? No, Kateriana is he only person on our team who plays cs (that I know of) We made ST8 first, purely because that is what Wetwork wanted to make.
