I like this idea of multiple theaters. As long as they're each given a good amount of complexity, such as weapons and vehicles for each setting.

My uneducated guess is that this is all going to involve Gastovski, in his early years. Or at least either a veteran turned special forces/agent, or otherwise some renegade mercenary guy. It even leads things open for Guba showing up on several occassions.<span id='postcolor'>

OFP2 is going to use the OFP1 engine in a modified form so it is not totally new, and BIS have stated that they want to get mod tools out pretty quick and that they are trying to make OFP1 addons compatible with OFP2.

I'm thinking of the fun that could be had mixing modern add-ons with OFP2... Driving around Vietnam in 1968 in an M1A2 Abrahms or a T-90. Flying over the deserts of North Africa in a MiG-29...

BIS have stated in the past that they want the old addons to be compatible with OFP2, so if you don't like the 70's you can just keep on playing with the BAS toys if you so wish

Do you think if Bis are starting OFP2 in the 70's, that Subsequent Expansion packs will cover the remaining Decades i.e. one that covers conflicts in the 80's, then one that cover's the 90's etc.

Oh goody, now the czechs are gonna halt the soviet invasion, even though in real life, the warsaw pact only lost one man, a bulgarian, from enemy fire, and then the glorious czech army under their victorious leader shall march onto moscow and be greeted with food and flowers.

Oh-uh! Voice acting!!! will OPF2 have vietnamese and african ppl speaking english only ? Will we be able to play with african, north vietnamese, european,russian and american units and soldiers? sounds like a 3 in 1 game, how many units, vehicals and other equipment will they need to develop? And if they are doing 3 small campaigns we will loose the immersive efect from 1985 and resistance , i would rather have 1 big campaign with many missions on diferent scenarios were we would play diferent roles in combat, to see character evolution throu the campaign, i wouldnt like to have small campaigns were we just do some little fighting and thats it , a good campaign needs atleast 20 missions, will OPF2 come with 60 missions plus some other 10 sp missions hmmm...

I just hope that they are making diffrent languages too, it would be really bad if it was like so many other games and movies that everybody is speaking english (sometimes with accent)...

But since BIS made that good last time, mabye I shouldn't have to worry...

Gastovski had a long career as a special forces soldier. I can totally believe that he was in Nam. As for Africa, I'd lean closer to "Advisor" than "Merc." If I'm not mistaken, the CIA was involved in the Biafran war? I think that Central Europe is going to be Nogova etc. in reference to the events of "30 years before" in Resistance.

The only thing I don't get is Africa. It just doesn't seem to tie in.

Sounds good to me altough I have couple of conserns.

One of the things that I liked in OFP was freedom to drive, fly and walk in such a big area without limitations.

If OFP2 is going to be in Vietnam or Europe they cant use islands as realistic limitation.

One of the options would be to make OFP similar to SOF2 where you run in a pipe. Thats not good at all as it takes lots of freedom away.

I seriously hope that BIS will find another solution so that we can have big areas to play with and similar freedom as in OFP.
