the_shadow 0 Posted October 4, 2004 the current MTLB´s is a little bit oversized imhoand the engine sound sucks... anway, sorrey for the OT but that's no matter to make a new one from scratch... personal dislike... we have enough other projects right now.  yeah, i understand you guys if you dont want to make new ones ;) belive me, i like them, but i would like to see some minor changes to them... but there are a lot of russian vehicles not yet made (even if CSLA has made a lot of them) so, keep it up guys, i just started to love the T64 tanks (when i got them to work) and im sure i´ll love the rest of your stuff as well. soul_assassin 1750 Posted October 5, 2004 You teaser SA. just wanted to show what an OPLOT is
Taconic 0 Posted October 5, 2004 Does OPLOT actually stand for something? I know all about the T-84 (it's probably my favorite tank ever. It's just so cool... and light,) but I've never seen any reference (in English, anyway) to what "OPLOT" means. How many have the Russians imported at this point, anyway? I haven't seen any up-to-date numbers there, either. I'm just wondering how common it is to actually see in Russian service. And a couple of RHS-specific question: Will a T-80UM1 be included in the T-80 pack? Will you have scripts simulating SHTORA and ARENA for pertinent tanks (ex: OPLOT, T-80UM1)? Jezz 0 Posted October 5, 2004 i think the russians havent bought any mate i think there building the t-95 or black eagle instead, as ive never seen a russian oplot before, anyone else? ps soul theres a tank series missing from your evolution pic

king homer 1 Posted October 5, 2004 whats up with a new and realistic damage script with ricochets and some new effects, also a new damage model would be nice, impact holes, tracks getting damaged etc that would make a nice tank
Jezz 0 Posted October 5, 2004 you know how hard that would be to do the reason no ther addons have tracks getting blown off and holes getting punched through the veihicle is becasue of ofp limitations. the best i can think of would be to creat a script that would detect an incoming round on either the left or right hand side of the veihicle where the largest area of track and road wheels and then have a generate a randomized number and if itsabove say 85 you then remove the fuel from the vehicle to simulate a disabled tank and maybe use hidden selections or model swapping to show the damage but this would be extrmely hard to do and would be a alot of work
Taconic 0 Posted October 5, 2004 i think the russians havent bought any mate As far as I know, they had some on order and have possibly deployed them by now. Quote[/b] ]i think there building the t-95 or black eagle instead, as ive never seen a russian oplot before, anyone else? The T-95, T-80UM2, and "Black Eagle" are all the same thing. The Russians evaluated it and decided that they aren't using it (at least that's what the picture looked like a year ago.) It's for export only.
Jezz 0 Posted October 5, 2004 info on the black eagle http://images.google.com/imgres?....rl=http the t-80um2 is similar to the um1 only instead of having the arena system it uses the droyzd system, heres a pic http://www.bulba.eu.org/mil/free/t80/t80um2.jpg as for the t-95 is supposdely very different from the black eagle ,this page has some info on the t-95 http://armor.kiev.ua/fofanov/Tanks/
Taconic 0 Posted October 5, 2004 info on the black eaglehttp://images.google.com/imgres?....rl=http the t-80um2 is similar to the um1 only instead of having the arena system it uses the droyzd system, heres a pic http://www.bulba.eu.org/mil/free/t80/t80um2.jpg I've read that. But I've also read that the official Black Eagle designiation is T-80UM2. It is based on the T-80 chasis, after all. See: http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/world/russia/t-80.htm http://www.fas.org/man/dod-101/sys/land/row/t80tank.htm http://www.sciencedaily.com/encyclopedia/t-80 All of which report the "Black Eagle" as the UM2. Quote[/b] ]as for the t-95 is supposdely very different from the black eagle ,this page has some info on the t-95 http://armor.kiev.ua/fofanov/Tanks/ The T-95 seems to be a source of a lot of inconsistent information. When the Black Eagle was first talked about, it was supposedly going to have a 152mm smoothbore... just like the T-95 listed there. It was also refered to as "T-95" before it was started being labled T-80UM2. Now that we know that it's not going to have a 152mm smoothbore, I think that the cannon could have been the source of the confusion/mislabel. I've also seen the "152mm tank" designated as T-94 and not 95, presumably because the Black Eagle was originally designated T-95. Example: http://www.fas.org/man/dod-101/sys/land/row/mbt-u.htm I honestly have no idea if I'm right or wrong on this point since there has been so much information overlap. Jezz 0 Posted October 5, 2004 the problem i think is western sources which are often incorrect. The um2 and the black eagle are two very different tanks all you need to do are to compare pictures of the two but i can understand i what you are saying but fas.org i have been told isnt very reliable on sort of new equipment becasue the stuff is mainly classiefed and not many know about it. what you say about the blackeagle being based on the t-80u chassis is true but the turret is very differnt and is more like the oplot in design only with frontal armour of the black eagle apearing to be far heavier, where as the um2 uses a turret similar to the t-80um1 but with the alternative anti missile droyzd system installed instead of arena. As for designation i think dkm got it right (t-12 or something) though im not sure as for the t-94/95 very very little is known about it and i dont think any pictures are in the public domain so that probably explains alot of the confusion though just like you im no expert ive just read quite a bit on armour though how acurate the info ive read is another matter
soul_assassin 1750 Posted October 5, 2004 The OPLOT and the T80 pack (whch includes the T80UM1 as shown on this pic) will b released together: PS sorry for bad cropping of pic, only have MS Paint on this comp.
