So, the inevitable question:

How were you able to adjust the pitch of the Coax gun!?

just so that people do not mix things up:

Coaxial is the MG that is imbeded in the turret and moves with it next to the main gun.

Mounted MG is an MG usually on loaders or commanders hatch and can rotate independantly of the main turret.

Does that mean theres still only 1 MG and not 2 as in Real life?

Since SgtMilkman is asking how you adapted the pitch of the COAX gun which i believe is the one inside the tank right?

I am confused a bit over this.

The way I read it is this.

Tank still has Main Gun and Coax.

Commander "gets in" his cupola MG thus as separate gun to those on the tank. Clever scripting binds the commanders MG to the tank on the move. Gunner can still engage with Main Gun and Coax, Commanders MG can engage own targets.

Is the Commander still in command (target blah, goto blah) when he is "in" his MG?

If I understand things right, there WILL be two MG's. One pintle mounted, and one coaxial to the turret.

there are still 2 MGs. Commander is still in command because the mounted MG is on the Gunner coupola.

PS. The RHS things (alot of em) that you see in the editor menu's, are all up to u to wonder about :P

I just watched the video again , and had a closer look at the items in the menu and when I saw the armoured tab come down and select the RHS and saw some of those vehicles wow_o.gif

I almost needed to change my pants biggrin_o.gif

OMFG, I hope they see the light of day

If your not changing the pitch of the machine gun in any way, you dont need to work out the pitch of the tank. You just need the positional info without the additonal burden of trigernometry, should help reduce the burden on the processor.

But like I said thats if your not changing the MG's pitch.

BTW, you can also use a similar method to make multi-barreled vehilces like the shilka, appear to fire from all four guns.

Nice to see some progress!

Looks like another engine limitation has fallen.

Keep up the good work and maybe surprise us with a T-64 update soon.

Yes, he is. Unfortunately, he isn't around, and won't be anytime soon, but I'll forward the praises and adulation and the like. He is one of many Flashpoint Editing Gods.

Obviously we can't give you an exact release date, but we grow ever closer to release. (Yes, that's said an awful lot, but now we have tangible public proof! tounge_o.gif ) It's all good - continue looking forward to crushing things with T-55s, -64s, or using them as gunnery practice.

I also have a question, would your team be willing to reveal later on exactly how you did this so the rest of the OFP community has a chance at top gunners or is this going to be a Studio secret?

I just loaded up the released tanks and tankers, fired up a mission, and whoah! Those are some FINE tanks!

Even without the multi-turret script yet, the fire and explosions of destroyed tanks (I took Russian tanks versus Resistance tanks, all from Red Hammer Studios, I'll have you know! tounge_o.gif ) are worth it! The detail, the textures, the options of the numbers and decals (Arabic, Res paint, and Western numbers, yet!)...

FINE job, mates! Fine job!
