Previously called the "US Army 2005" addon, now i renamed it to "US Forces 2000s", so the addon can have a wider scope and can include more branches. This pack includes Soldiers and Marines wearing BDUs in Desert camo or M81 Woodland camo and Interceptor Body Armors in M81 camo, 2004-2006 era Marines wearing Marpats, IBAs, Nomex Flightsuits, and there are also 2007 Era US Army units that wear Full UCP camo. They use RHS weapons and vehicles, GSTAVO's M16A2s are also used by most of the Marines from 2001-2003, and also rear echelon US Army units

 

 

Features:
- Units, primarily US Army and USMC, from 2001 to 2007, wearing appropriate uniforms and gear for each year
- units are mostly available in woodland and desert variants (except for later US Army, wearing universal camo pattern, of course)
- Generic Special Forces Units, from 2001s to 2005 era
- Adapter for users of RH Accessories pack is available, inside the "optionale" folder found in the mod's directory (@simc_uaf_08_rhs).  
using RH Optics will give more period accurate attachments not found in RHS, primarily PEQ2s and Aimpoint M2s, also TA01 ACOGs

- MICH helmet (UCP, M81, and DCU camo, and coverless versions)
    - MICH battery pack accessories made by Lennard

    - optional ace compatibility for all glasses and NVGs available, config made by lizardbolo, optional config comes in a pbo located in "optionale" folder under the mod's directory

- Fixed RVMATs on most uniforms, now they should reflect better and show up properly on thermals (however flece jacket and some gear are still missing them, anyway credits to hvymtal for bringing this up)

- models for mopp suits and fleece jackets are still very crappy WIP tho, will change them in the future if i have a chance, anyhow its crappyness can made less obvious by simply wearin any vest on top of it (: 
- either way they shouldn't stop you from seizing some airfields, or directing airstikes on some taliban invested mountains
- Added MOPP-suited groups of 2003 era Marines

Fantastic mod. I ve also waited for something like this. 

 

This:

- No entry 'bin/config.bin/CfgWeapons/ItemInfo.scope'.
- No entry 'bin/config.bin/CfgVehicles/EventHandlers.side'.
- No entry bin/config.bin/CfgVehicles/EventHandlers.scope.

 

are caused by misconfiguration of attributes of class inheritances and missing main class entries in config.cpp and should be easy to fix.

If I could obtain author s permission to depbo the mod and check the config I will gladly take a look at it.

Unless better Chanchos then me could help the author with that.

As requested i ve fixed us army 2005 config I am using RHS only so i ve fixed only rhs version CUP version requires the same fix I presume.

 

Fixed config sent via PM.

 

Changelog:

 

Fixed popup eventHandlers and itemInfo errors.

Fixed incorrect loadout for AA soldiers RHS instead of CUP Stinger launchers.

Fixed incorrect motorized group name Woodland instead of Desert.

Deleted incorrect editor units icons.

 

WARNING known bug:

 

Googles on helmets are still missing textures.

What else I forgot....

Here are few helpful ideas:

 

1. I would expand mech units and groups in editor for ready editor scenarios, ZEUS, or ALIVE use, add units with M113s , M1A1 tanks, maby HMMTT trucks etc.

2. I would retexture that nice ACU uniform and helmets with UCP camo to get nice interim units from 2005 - 2006 period with woodland IBA vests a la Arma 1 units.

3. It is imperative to add to units config:

 

identityTypes[] =
{
	"LanguageENG_F", "Head_NATO", "NoGlasses"
};

to prevent spawning of units with futuristic BIS glasses and googles.

Or alternatively You can always assign only RHS glasses or glasses pool to the units for example.

 

Ah yes and one more thing.

Some retextures for patrol cap or boonie hat would be appreciated because rifleman with light equipment does not have any soft cover on his head. You know US Army Regulation 670-1 and all that.

Yes i think im gonna go for patrol cap, and also planned to make all units carry one in their shirt like RHS units do

Maby it isn t connected to wrong path for texture assigment but to rmvat,, material or UV map shader? I for example use ultra graphic quality settings in game. I dont have any error messages when equipping  or using the helmets just  white textureless helmet goggles. But for 99% it s a texture assignment path error. Maby it s simply missing "\" on the start of the file path.

ok i found out that i actually set the goggles' texture path to the raw unpacked file instead of inside the pbo lol, i guess that should fix the missing textures, and also fixed the inheritance issues thanks to bolo861, i'll get it updated soon

That s a good news. I ve tested and indeed googles textures show up fine now.

BTW.

It s not a bug just little omission also on my part. Both AA specialists desert and woodland still carry vanilla backpacks with vanilla Titan AA rocket reloads insteed of "rhs_fim92_mag".

Yes i guess i would retex it but i don't want the CUP version to be also dependent to rhs lel, so i might base instead it on the arma 2 model, prolly make the texture bigger and remodel the straps

Could you add a UCP version of the ACU, please? The default ACU in the CUP pack clips through the vest.

Nice update. UCPs/ACUs, BDUs and covers look good. Question:  is "LASTNAME" an hiddensellection texture for custom setup?

yeah, will do UCP but idk about DCU (that way I guess i might as well rename this addon to smthing like 2005-2008 lol);

I also plan to make a USMC pack of the same period which will use coyote brown (and m81) IBAs too, but i'll focus on the army units first

Updated the mod:

- Added UCP Units and groups

- Added PASGT helmets (just the helmet for the moment, units are not yet wearing it)

- Added more vehicles and helicopters (UH60 and AH64D, and also M1A1; for ease of access i guess)
