crazy mike 567 Posted June 7, 2017 I've also updated the clutter config with an updated version of my vortorsk config I have been using on Chernarus, which looks very nice IMO Fields Forests (There is some undesirable mis-coloration which will be fixed, see below Mountains Random overview of the Island currently under construction (: In the coming few days I have a couple big changes to specifically the satellite and forest masks, the satellite will be getting many improvements in terms of transitions from beach to field field to forest forest to mountain ECT I am brightening the forest satellite as it is currently almost pitch black for some reason and is contributing to the bad coloration of clutter in forests as noted above. I will ALSO be redoing the mask image for forests as the old one has white lines signifying twigs and shit and it looks really bad with the way I do my clutter (thick as f0k) it peeks through and just looks awkward with the white dots everywhere, I may use another arma 2 texture or try to make my own whatever looks best in the end :P 6 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

crazy mike 567 Posted June 9, 2017 Update on the sat and mask overhauls I mentioned in the previous post, a friend Hololand and I have been adding smoother transitions to the sat and so far this is the result, I am using a (lol) treeline we forgot to do as a quick before and after screenshot seen below The central forest shape is what all of the transitions looked like prior to this update, where as all other transitions have been overhauled to provide a smoother transition, i think it came out quite alright, I have also removed the (lol) hand drawn road texture for the roads and when I am finished laying out all roads I will just overlay them onto the sat image This picture below should give you a slight idea on how we went about making this change (and that i totally generate it using l3dt off the mask lmao) As I continue development on the map nearing the completion of the map I will be adding many "blemishes" and extra textures onto the sat image specifically in larger fields to break up the monotone green texture, it is nice and works well in smaller fields but once we start getting some big clearings we will need extra detail on the sat to overt people I also have an update on the large bridge that will inevitably link the two main islands on the eastern side of the map, ImUnleashed on the DesolationREDUX team created the bridge model below for us to use with the terrains main highway texture, it still has things to update and add too but the model is finished <3 3 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Makes it feel more real and (formerly) lived in and also breaks up the big spaces. With the farm plots themselves there should be no need for crops or sat color change since they aren't tended, so in this case having farm plots of just grass instead of actual crops like pretty much every arma terrain is the right way to go. crazy mike 567 Posted June 14, 2017 Laid out another small city / large town today, I wasnt quite happy with the way this one came out but it'll have to do :P Please keep in mind I am NOT adding detail yet, if any very sparse but the whole objective ATM is to lay out all areas on the south island right now, once everything is in place detail will commence on mass, and it will be some sick ass detail you can count on that. I have also begun work retexturing objects to be used on the snowy mountains, so far just two piceas trees but i ported alot of objects today in vk_objects.pbo, just have to start recoloring the textures and rvmats ect, once finished it will give me a library to use when I brainstorm what to put up there ;) (Note this is NOT how the trees will be in the final product, but just a quick generation for me to see the effect ingame) The tinting is due to the 1.60 lighting update, nothing I can really do right now with overcast dulling the sunlight you can see the tinting effect go away, the trees are basically desaturated textures with a few level corrections to the black and while lmao thanks for reading! ive also added a super hidden really hard to find easter egg somewhere on the map, and its not in the spoiler below Spoiler 3 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
