Yes it is. I'll be doing South Korean Special Forces- Focusing on 707, but I might also expand a bit to include SMU (Counter-Terrorist) teams as well, similar to how I did VBSS teams with the SEALS.

Also, important news for anyone who plays on the Dynamic Recon Ops scenarios-

 

I've been talking with Mbrdmn (the Recon Ops creator) and we have a fix rolling out over the next few days, mission side- that means full DRO compatibility for Player Sided factions in all DRO scenarios. OPFOR / the hostile faction have always been compatible, but this will bring in support for the player side to be SFF or SFF-R (or Overhaul) factions. 

 

There will be no update from my end, all faction mods will be supported without me having to update the factions. I'll try and update this post on the day I can confirm functionality on the public DRO branch.

Unrelated-Does anyone use ACRE Radio at all with these units? I don't and was wondering if they worked OK.

Really enjoying your units, especially the Syndikat overhaul and the Abu Sayyaf units, makes for some plausible modern scenarios on Tanoa. Have you considered perhaps making a version of the FIA overhaul that uses the RHS vehicles (Or vanilla, like your Syndikat) instead of the SFF vehicles?

I don't plan to make Overhauls that add larger selections of vehicles, but it could be done. 

 

The SMA FIA Overhaul used mostly Western kit, namely M4A1's and old AUG's, So I was considering making the RHS version use semi-modern Russian weapons (but retaining the US M81 and guerrilla uniforms for PID/IFF/ Identifying allies, and it's a way to retain the FIA's mixed guerilla feel without relying on the AAF Digicam they use by default) so I could throw something like a GAZ or BTR/ BMP to the faction, rather than just base Technicals?

hello, great mod. but can you make hezbollah as in real life. no offence , but hezbollah irl is more high-tech than most of a lot of conventional countries SOF. keep it up man!

I have Hezbollah already? The regular infantry force are rather ordinary but the SF element is really well equipped, with modern gear, optics and body armor.

So the FIA overhaul doesn't necessarily require the SFF vehicles? Everything will function correctly, such as FIA vehicles used in the campaign or other missions?

It should not, all the SFF vehicles does is give you some additional static weapons for the FIA faction in editor- The SFF vehicles, and any vehicles at all I were to add to any faction, will not appear in the official campaign.

SFF Vehicles and Static Weapons updated-

 

Optimised file size- Removed the MP7 infantry weapons from the mod because they are rarely used by factions dependant on this SFF mod. This means that the CAG/ Delta Force faction now has Zee's '50 Shades of MP7' (

 ) as a requirement rather than it being integrated into the Vehicle pack like it was before, but because many of the factions using the Vehicle pack are OPFOR or INDEP groups you in general save about 150MB on weapons that only the CAG uses.

Having some technical difficulties with the South Korean unit 707 right now, so I have got something else that should be done rather soon- I made all the factions I have with full ALiVE compatibility, so decided to work on some civilian units from different places to go alongside them. Right now it's just vanilla clothes but custom gear is WIP. 

 

First faction I'm working on is African Civilians-

I also plan for a Middle Eastern Civilian and maybe Eastern European Civilian updates using custom-made robes, clothes and such, but they might not be in the first release. 

 

All factions in the pack will be fully ALiVE, TFAR (some units will have radios) and ACE3 compatible. 

 

Before anyone panics, I will be still doing military stuff.

So I have been looking for Hezbollah or anything resembling them and just now finally found SFF Hezzie addon. Usually your work is top-notch but this time I was dissapointed a bit.

They are very far from the real life Hezbollah so any chance of an update? I dont mean to sound rude, Im sure you have a ton of work on your hands.

Now to the things that in my opinion would truly give the addon that "Hezzie Feel".

 

Body armor: M-69  flak jackets and Israeli copies of PASGT ballistic vests are both common. For helmets I would use the M-1 and SSh-68 steel helmets and OR-201 and PASGT kevlar helmets. Other headgear ofcourse like bandanas, boonie hats, balaclavas and shemaghs.

Hezbollah fighters almost always use camouflaged pattern uniforms. Most common seems to be the M82 Woodland or a syrian copy of it. Another common pattern is the syrian "vertical" Lizard pattern. I have also seen photos where they wear olive drab uniforms likely captured from the IDF. New fairly common pattern seems to be the iranian digital pattern closely resembling MARPAT. Maybe use it for their special forces?

Sometimes you will see some civilian clothing mixed in there. Like jeans and a M82 pattern jacket but usually civilian clothes are rare.

Hezbollah uses combat vests like the classic chinese Type-56 chest rig for AK magazines. Other common gear is US Vietnam era chest rigs. Captured IDF vests are common also as is almost everything used by the SAA.

Then the weapons. Hezbollah doesnt use the AK-74 in any significant amount. I have seen only one photo of a Hezbollah operative with an AKS-74U and he seemed to be Hassan Nasrallahs bodyguard.

Small arms used by Hezzies are almost all in Arma 3 already.

Assault Rifles & Carbines: AKM/AKMS and M16A1/A2. GP-25 and M203 are both also in Hezzie arsenal. Maybe throw in a CAR-15 and IMI UZI for specialists like AT crews.
Machineguns: PKM is pretty much the only one I have ever observed in photos. Never seen RPK's or other machineguns wich is kinda weird.

Marksman Rifles: HS.50 anti-material rifle, Dragunov SVD, M16 with AGOC or some other optic.

AT Weapons: RPG-7 with optics, RPG-29 and M47 Dragon or Saeghe-2 as its iranian copy is known. SA-7 and SA-18 MANPADS are both already in the game and used by Hezbollah.

Most importantly the static weapons: AT-13 Metis-M, AT-14 Kornet and Toophan 2 TOW copy are have all been made already. Only thing missing is the AT-3 Sagger but thats not too important. Throw in the ZU-23, SPG-9 and DSHkM and you would have a unique and realistic Hezzie faction.

Some of the stuff would require making it from scratch like the HS.50 rifle or some of the vest and helmet models but still its relatively little work. Please show this addon a little love to make it perfect!

Yes, I totally understand what you mean- I really had trouble finding similar gear (bear in mind this was made before I did RHS versions of factions) so I was really limited in what kind of gear I could give them, and Middle-Eastern type robes are really hard to find outside of CUP (10GB) or RHS OPFOR (about 9GB) which would be huge dependencies at that time. 

 

I've been considering going and making a new Hezbollah faction that is a RHS version so I have access to a whole load of gear that I lacked beforehand.

 

Regarding weapons/kits- I used heaps of chest rigs and lighter rigs when I could, but was reliant on base-game gear at the time, couldn't get the T56 rigs.

The should have a decent selection of  units wearing M81 woodland and Tan/OD mixed uniforms, that was something I did pick up from the photos I had. I can add in some ballistic vests and helmets no problem- I'll probably use SSh-68's and some flat green russian helmets and keep the mix of bandanas and shemaghs I have for the other units. 

 

I only really used the AK-74's because NIA didn't have any AKMS's, which I saw in most of my pics, so when I do the RHS version they'll mostly be using AKM's and AKMS's.

M16A1's and M16A2's do exist in A3 but I'm not sure I would make a dependency for it, and will likely just use an older looking NIA CAR-15 with clamshell grip and carry handle instead.

Again, NIA had no PKM, so I had to use RPK's, The RHS version will be using PKM's for the standard MG of the faction. 

HS.50 isn't ingame, but the SVD or an accurised AR rifle can be done. 

They should have the RPG-7 already, just the Apex version- I'll swap that over to to RHS. I'll likely add some additional squads like an anti-air team, yes. 

Static guns- I have plenty to pick from, and I can add most of those to the faction- I gave them ATGM's primarily because I saw alot of footage of them being used over there and I think it's an interesting weapon to use. I can add in SPG-9's, DKHSM and ZSU-23's no problem. 

 

Thanks for the reminder, I've been thinking about doing this for a bit- Might take a while for it to be released though, I've been really busy recently.

The ALiVE Civilian Pack (currently only African theatre civilians, full ALiVE/ACE3/TFAR/Zeus/Editor compatibility) should be out as well.

A pack of civilian units that will eventually cover a range of theatres and locations, and include some custom uniforms, vehicles and equipment, as well as full ACE3, Task Force Radio, Editor, Zeus and ALiVE support. 

The purpose of the mod is to give more accurate looking civilians for Milsim groups without having to rely on large download of civilian equipment. 

Right now only the African Civilians are completed, and it is more of a test of concept. 

Faction classname- C_AF for spawning. They can also be found under 'Civilian' category in Editor/Zeus.

Hey jarrad, i have a request. I know you're busy with several projects at the moment but I was wondering if you'd consider doing a weapon config for EricJ's Taliban Fighter's that you could outfit with NI Arms AK pack. I ask for that as I don't have any of the RHS mods, I have a capped bandwidth amount from my satellite ISP or else I'd use something like Project Opfor. I mainly play SP due to my crappy connection and mainly play Dynamic Recon Ops. missions and would love to have an Taliban looking unit addon that didn't have a ton of dependencies.

Yeah, I could do that- the problem I had with EricJ Taliban units was they clipped rather badly with vests and headwear, but a simple faction could be done.
