Arma 3 - APEX - NEWS and SPECULATIONS

Recommended Posts

I would be disturbing to have a backpack with an Indonesian camo in Dayz, but not on Tanoa :P

This could just be regular DPM. You find loads of regular DPM equipment on the free market.

You're more at my place, I don't mind the absence of fast roping :P

-EDIT : and overall, I think that they already gave us a lot of good things!

My biggest fear about the upcoming expansion is the copy/past syndrome of the vanilla content with re-texture  (uniform, turret and so on).

I don't see this backpack in this list, but it's maybe outdated.

--Edit : In this one neither.

The carryall backpack from Arma 3 is also in Dayz SA (at least it was a few month ago) and I don't see it in your links.

Dayz is far from finished and many more content is being added.

Anyway it would be great to have such a backpack and chestrig in Apex.

--Road-work vehicles from Black Element can be only composition objects, not actually drivable ones.

The excavator has cut hydraulic lines, that ain't going nowhere on it's own, I doubt the dozer nor the loader from the Tanoa video will be drivable either.

As it seems that my previous post may have mislead some people:

Allow me to clarify, Black Element is just a 3d Studio that provides models to different games, among them Arma 3 and Day Z.

So that backpack and chestrig could end in any of those (I'd bet DayZ) or in another game.

speculation is speculation  :D

When Apex is ready, Predator mod will also appear :D Of course that's just a speculation.

Which I remember also being a thing about OA (content level inflated by desert reskins of vanilla A2 content)...

I wish someone did actually create the characters from Predator in light we now have a jungle terrain.

new harness/vest and  backpacks (old DPM surely indonesia army)

It's possible that these are both just for DayZ, but it's also possible that that chestrig may replace the kind of ugly existing one for NATO (and maybe the other armies too), like they made a few new gear pieces for NATO and AAF with the marksmen DLC. At least I hope so. It has the dark olive drab colour that all the other NATO gear pieces have.

I do hope there'll be an Indo-styled army with good old DPM

The backpack must be for dayz, I remember seeing this or similar tall backpacks in game.

Which were originally Arma2 OA assets ;)

There was very little overlap in content between OA and Arma 2. Most certainly there was next to no reskinning going on, with the exception of the HMMWV's and Abrams. The units were different (US Army vs. USMC, Talistani vs. Russians/Chedaki), and most of the vehicles were different as well.

Unfortunately, we won't be able to do this:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dd3hWMPUBrM#t=1m04s

The old 52 skidoo play snafued due to that fast rope insertion or lack there of... I am sure if the Devs had more time or Beer or CUPcakes they would put fast ropping in. Perhaps we can bribe...I mean ask nicely. It would be nice if they actually didn't say anything until APEX and say presto here it is fully working or some awesome feature.

We should maybe make a list of core features that are missing, if it's short enough and widely approved by the forum's community it may have more effect than the feedback tracker.

And keep in mind that features that were added to Arma 3 after the release will (almost certainly) be available immediately at the release of ..."what come next". So they will be able to add whole new things after the release.
