i have 1mb cable, upload and download are both 1024k

MP was a fetaure of this game that we payed for, and its unfair that we have to give it up because the new patch buggered MP up for (what looks like) GOOD!

I not flaming BIS but they should have tested this patch before releasing it I hope BIS makes the MP problems there priority, otherwise ill go nuts!!!<span id='postcolor'>

You should understand that it's not so easy to make a game like OFP. I'm sure BIS tested Muliplayer before they released the patch. There are many different computers out there and many unoffical addons. I was playing yesturday without any lag, and my ping was low. Today, my ping was very high. That made me wonder. I'm sure BIS got good ping when they tested the game. It could be the host or just one player that is lagging.

As far as I can judge after playing two days with 1.85 and having talked to a few hosts, it seems that a lot of lag is caused by people connecting to the server while a game is underway - custom sounds and faces might be limited in 1.85, but when the temp folder grows up to nearly 1 MB, each new player drains a lot of server bandwidth by downloading all this and distributing his own stuff to the other players.

Lag has happened and will happen in the future as well.

If U don't like that fact, try a lil more basic game and go play Pong online or something!!

In real life you tend to sometimes oversee problems, that U might not encounter since you have a different set-up.

So all this to point one thing out:

I don't think that BIS is trying to piss the whole OFP community off by launching a huge counter-measure action against their greatest game ever by putting out a patch that kills one of the most vital parts of their game, which IMHO made it so popular.

I do think however, that they are working hard on irradicating this error and get us all back to being happy lil killers again wink.gif

If U are not just a gamer, but also try to build your own missions in OFP and/or resistance, you would appreciate the ammount of fixed bugs and added features WAY MORE than the fact that the patch screwed up the MPgaming for a while.

In fact, if you are a OFP-gamer only, use the chance to get out there into real life and catch some fresh air....maybe that'll help against your mental blockade as well.

To BIS: Keep up the good work, and don't smoke that much...lol

Cheers,

Well, whoever worked on them could have spent the time and resources better - another vehicle for the embattled East, perhaps (who, incidentally, got nothing in this patch).

Yes, they are nice eye candy, but have little practical application.

Geez, what's the point of this thread if we can only say what is good about the patch?

Without positive and negative feedback, how can BIS give us what we want in the next patch? If enough people say they didn't like something, BIS might decide not to include something similar next time.<span id='postcolor'>

That's exactly what I mean! Maybe I should really revive my old Constructive Criticism thread.

The bike and mini are all nice and stuff, but hey, an uncovered Ural, a PK-equipt UAZ and a MI-17 w/o the missile racks but a PK or no armament instead would have been really the better choice, IMHO.

Oh, and for those two specialists (GFX707 and Nikolai) who felt the urge to lecture me about who does what in game development: Someone still has to implement the models into the game surrounding, right? What I meant was that the work spent for this, would have most likely been better issued to tweaking pistols magazine capacities or other similar important things...

When i first heard this new patch was coming out i was drooling over it and had my hopes up high which was dissapointing...I play couple of game last night and i experience some issues regarding 1.85

Here are my pro's and con's of this patch and hopefully BIS can look into and fix it ASAP otherwised we are going backwards not forwards and eventually people will be dissapointed and prolly give up hope ..I am sure BIS dont want that....

ADVANTAGES: Tank breaks improve,no shaking/vibrating/no sliding which is a major improvement....

New Weapons such as the hunting sniper gun which is nice and the scope doesnt shake/vibrate like the m21 when i zoom in for scope...Mini nice car but do they used mini car in world war1/2? lol

Handguns not bad suppose to be powerful only if ya were closer enough

DISADVANTAGE: Lag/Descyn goes up and down during game play...Netcode not working properly

As Admin,i dont see a list of maps so i had to log out and re login to see the list which is a pain in the ass..

Crashed to desktop after i play for about an hour or less it just crashed back to desktop with no error messages or something i never expericene this problem on 1.75

When we play the new sector control map on Nogova I got respawn all over the place like teleport here and there which is really weird..

I think I know why it crashed due to low virtual memory...I have email BIS for support...with my Computer specs info!

On our server Gameplanet we experience not much lag when we have less players like up to 10 but we had like 25-30 players and experiencing a major lag like couldnt see anyone etc...Couldnt get in tanks/jeep etc

Another thing is when i go into tall buildings to climb up the ladder I couldnt open the door and often get stuck...

Thank you Suma and Maruk for coming on our GP server last night, for testing etc... I enjoy killing u guys hehehe

Keep up the good work BIS smile.gif

I noticed last night that it is now impossible to get up one of the ladders at the castle ruins on Everon.

I'm not talking about the main castle tower itself, but the short one-level stone platform in front of the castle (whatever it is called).

I noticed a strange model bug with binoculars and night vision goggles. Sometimes when you use binocs the night vision goggles model shows instead of binocs model (it looks very funny to see an officer using nv goggles as binocs tounge.gif).

I've also noticed when this bug appears. It seems that when a unit gets equipped first with nv goggles and then with binocs this bug will appear (for example when you give binocs to Spetz Natz with this addweapon "binocular" -command, he has only nv goggles by default).

And another small thing, could the police jeep and V-80 get a proper unit icon for squad leaders unit menu?

Good job with the patch anyway, I haven't tried MP yet though wink.gif.

<span id='postcolor'>

I didnt see a "100% bugfree" sticker on the package when I bought OFP.

All games have bugs, OFP has always had a little issue with bugs but it has never made the game unplayable. OFP is more advanced then most other games, therefore its more bugged. Also when updating a game there are often bugs, look at everquest, they must have released over 100 emergency patches and this is because they have probably released 500 patches. (Im not saying this is how many patches EQ has actually released but it had released pretty many when I stoped playing it over a year ago).

Ok heres another bug that ive encountered. When playing CTF in MP, the bodies used to disappear automaticaly without having to add a whole script. I think this was introduced in 1.75 but im not sure. However, now with 1.85 the bodies are not removed automatically, as in they just lie there where they used to get swallowed up by the earth (ashes to ashes dust to dust).

So, I did my bit of complaining tounge.gif

Regards,

and thank u BIS

The disappearing body behavior was tweaked in the V1.85 patch.

I think the new behavior keeps them around longer as long as it doesn't create too many objects. I actually prefer it this way.

Doesn't take a programmer to do that. There was some new animations but that was it, I mean come on, how many of us have made addons ourselves....?

Good fix.<span id='postcolor'>

I agree.

I'm glad the machine guns became more accurate, but maybe they're just a bit too accurate now.  I've just been slain 5 times in a row by an AI MGer from 350 - 400 meters with single shots to the head while I was prone. wow.gif  And his AK74-toting buddies couldn't touch me from that distance.

(noticed during LostSquad MP mission)

When you get alot of dead bodys it can really lag up the game i think it would be a good feature to be able to select how long you want them to remain for on ground at multiplayer set up screen.

Well for the first time in history I took out a T-80 with A-10s cannon without wasting so much as one third of my ammo.

Errrr, you still dont got it, eh? What I was saying was, that the person (whoever that would be) which is responsible for creating a model's config file would have been better off to concentrate on tweaking values of existing models (like # of bullets per magazine) in the first place instead of having to implement yet another set of models (mini car, bike, ..) into the game setting. It's all about priorities, which seem a little "misplaced" with that patch. Sure, nice units are always welcome, but I would have prefered if things the community has asked for a very long time would have been dealt with in the first place. The above mentioned uncovered Ural to oppose the uncovered 5-ton truck, the PK-armed UAZ to oppose the jeep with MG, or the either unarmed or PK-armed MI-17 to oppose the UH60 w/ MG, would be nice examples here, once again.

The coder definetly had enough work with all those bugfixes and code tweaks, yes, and I never said something about a programmer having to fix bugs like the current pistol ammo count. "Bugfixes" was not meant for code-only things, but to wrong weapon statistics as well, for example. I would even dare to say that the AK weapons having 3-round burst mode is a bug as well... tounge.gif

Maybe you understood by now, what I said. Next time a little actual usage of braincells after reading certain replys might be a useful hint. At least you didn't resort to pointless name-calling like Nikolai over there.....ah well. wink.gif

Nyles, I agree. They should have made more useful additions, like who is going to use a bike in their mission besides for ambience? They should have a UAZ without a roof that has a PK or other Soviet MG, to counter the Jeep/MG. sad.gif

How about adding feature to see the statistics for more than 'top 10 players' in multiplayer? For example, add same kind of stats screen when you press tab in BF 1942, CS or any other online shooter. It's much more informative than just a top 10 killboard...

Why do you play it if it's "screwed up"? Why average review score for both OpFlash and OpFlash Resistance from many magazines around the world counts around 90%? If this is what you mean, believe me XBox version will be exactly "screwed up" as the PC version is.

understand MARUK, i was P***ed off, i apologise.

But i still am annoyed at the MP problems that were introduced, fair enough your working on it but MP was the best part of the Game for me and now its become unplayable sad.gifsad.gif

And what i meant about the XBOX, i was gathering that it would be the SAME as the pc version, meaning V1.75 (which still had many bugs), how would you ammend the bugs that appear in the XBOX version? (if they appear that is?) smile.gif
