General about 1.85 patch

The barrels already spun on the AH6, but your right about the rest. (I wont start on the sounds again, lol, but they are VERY crappy)

Holy cow, BIS! Haven't you got any beta-testers at all?

Or you are only thinking of minimizing the cost knowing the players will install every new update of yours no matter how buggy?!

I'm also wondering - how many patches will we see before the game gets rid of it most obvious and notorious bugs! confused.gif

Also one more thing confused.gif BIS you also need to fix the automatic weapons fire!! sad.gif I don't know what the hell you did to it but it is really screwed!! most of the time when you fire a weapon on automatic you hear almost no sound mad.gif ,Thats if your lucky enough to here any11 sad.gif But on a positive matter the rest of the pacth is good (expecally the hunting rifle!!!! biggrin.gif that thing is really cool) Butt again please make a pacth v1.90 (like a quck fix fast please I beg you!wink.gif

Apsolutely perfetic cant BIS make just 1 patch that doesnt cause another 100 bugs this 1.85 is the worse yet it has created massive desync in multiplayer games.Me and my clan are playing with same people and same map only difference being people now hop all over the place thats if there not running on the spot.Why dont you just make your patches BETA 1st then this could have all been avoided. And the bike yer nice idea but time it took you to make that you could been testing and maybe found a few other bugs like not being able to get up the steps that lead to the top of that little castle thingy.

Anybody noticed altered behaviour out of aircraft?

Helos seem more aggressive and smarter, except I've noticed them landing for no reason.

Also had jets not do so well following their waypoints, heading out to sea for a while, instead.

Still, all in all, patch is an improvement in my view.

Will you guys cut BIS some slack? When introducing new features, and releasing a patch of this size, there are bound to be bugs that need to be ironed out.

Now you KNOW BIS always fixes the problems that happen, they work hard and listen to us and provide fixes as soon as possible.

The way you people are posting about BIS you would think they were Codemasters or something. As soon as there is any problem some of you turn into ungrateful little shitheads.

Post some constructive feedback, in such a way that the information can be used to make the game better. If you wish to have a bitch, go elsewhere.

And by the way, stop complaining about the BIKE and the MINI, the programmers did not work on them, so they wasted no time, so all their efforts WERE put into the network code and fixing bugs.

Grr.. wankers.

I never compained about the bike and the mini. tounge.gif I thought those where cool. I just found all the bugs and stuff not so cool. But the bike and the mini add to the civilan life in OFP wich is really weak but is improving with these two addons.

I successfully updated, and now I get an illegal operation everytime I try to run resistance. CWC works fine.

Well, whoever worked on them could have spent the time and resources better - another vehicle for the embattled East, perhaps (who, incidentally, got nothing in this patch).

Yes, they are nice eye candy, but have little practical application.

Geez, what's the point of this thread if we can only say what is good about the patch?

Without positive and negative feedback, how can BIS give us what we want in the next patch? If enough people say they didn't like something, BIS might decide not to include something similar next time.

I did not say the BIKE and MINI were my first prefernece as addons. I definately believe we need more armored vehicles if anything. What I *did* say was that there is no point saying BIS programmers wasted their time on the new addons when the programmers do not do the models.

I do not think there is much point to giving only positive feedback. I am saying try to make your negative feedback more constructive, less abusive, and maybe we'll get somewhere.

btw, I cannot help BIS code, I would if I could. What I *can* do is run Gameplanet's server on 1.85, get my players to test and provide constructive feedback so the next patch fixes these issues.

Could it be possible to alter the bike so that it doesn´t go backwards, it´s not a big problem and we had quite good laughs about it in our server =). Also if you still are going to make a quick patch it would be nice if you make the soundContinuous=0; for M2´s, light mg´s and tank mg´s. Also i was wondering that is it possible give some sort of support for sound addon makers, it would help you to get rid of those sound whiners. Finally, i think the patch is not so bad, now we have the flares and campfires working correctly in MP. Big thank you for that.

They can't make the bike not go backwards - in real life you can get off and turn your bike around. You cannot do this in OFP, so if you get stuck against something without reverse u are in trouble smile.gif

I noticed I can actually hit stuff with the M60 MG now. And so can the AI MGers apparently, which means I have to start managing my squad's MGers properly - not to mention play Resistance again and actually equip guys with PKs.

Hi BIS

Any chance of sorting out the problems we Radeon users have had to put up with since 1.75 ? i.e. Flashing white textures on landscapes and models and especially the windows of vehicles.

This flickering appears to be random, I'm using the latest drivers. And I've tried pretty much every fix there is to no avail. Including searching the forums for related topics and the Avon ladies faq.

Please help, I know I'm not the only one.

--- In reference to GamePlanet OFP 1.85 Server ---

OK I was just playing on the server for a couple of hours and managed to get a good look at the performance.

First of all my system specs which shouldn't be important as the server was the problem.

AMD Athlon 1700XP+

512MB DDR RAM

Soltek KT266A mobo

SUMA GF4Ti4200 / 40.41 Nvidia Driver.

Windows 2000Pro

Ok first map I played I tested AI and Lag performance, basicly I loaded up a map with MANY AI on it and left all 24 AI slots open, AI appears to function better althought sometimes turning back (reverse direction of enemy) and stairing but at least they crouch and respond better when under fire, like take cover behind a rock. Seems BIS are doing good in the AI department.

Server load was pretty good, there were about 3-4 Of us playing that desert resistance map were you can select time of day etc.. Anyway at the start there was a large LAG spike with 1100Kbps OUT on the server, then it settled to between 400-600 Kbps, the server Frame rate was a near constant 21fps which is good tho anything below can result in desync.

Anyway after this map more people started to connect about 7 in total so we tried the Nogova RTS2 map, this went well and everyone was having a blast with minimal lag, Unsure what the FPS was on the server end but we had no desync, however more people connected (around 10-15 connected to server now) so I reassigned and let them in. After a map restart or so we got it all working (had some bugs in the map but wasn't realy bad ones just the LOG INTO vehicle part option, which is not related to patch) we started off relatively fine, however 20mins into the game I was seeing 5-9FPS on the server, the Kbps was around 500-700OUT and seemed constant so it wasn't appearing to jump all over the place.

After a while our desync became so bad we had to find another map. So we tried MORNING MIST, NOW once we got in bad things started to happen about 30seconds into the map with people getting massive desyncs, I often felt alone on the map as nothing was happening however the AI that was with me moved around fine it seemed the desync was affecting players only and so everyone couldn't play shit. 5FPS on the server.

So we loaded up COOP which I forgot the name of now, it seems to start okish with a bit of stuttering on the trucks. However once we got into the mission a bit we saw High desyncs again. This was about the time I said FUKIT and left before I forget about posting in GP.

My Opinion is that it seems to be that with less then 10-7 Players on the server it can handle relatively ok but as soon as more players join it chokes the server BIG time, Now we had MANY AI running around on my 48player RUNWAY map with very little lag as there was only 4 people playing, but on later maps it lagged lots as more people were connected 13+.

I think BIS needs to solve these Desync problems + the sudden jumping players over the map (probably result of desync).

Did any of this help? probably not, I think BIS need to connect to GP when we got 15+ people their and check it out for themselves, maybe even log in as admin and use the #monitor 5 command to see the server stats however I dunno if they can see why it is desyncing with that. Worth a Try.

Also someone was pestering about how BIS need a #ignore option in the game so maybe just throw that in next patch hey so people don't bitch so much.

I look forward to future patches and if BIS want me to help BETA test any MP patches in the future I'm more then welcome to because it seems BIS is unable to get enough people to test their netcode out which results in bad things unpon release, they did do a betatest thing a while ago and it seemed to work well, maybe BIS need to take this up again.

no, i think people have the right to complain about these problems, the fact i CANNOT play online anymore without MASSIVE lag because of this patch.

i have 1mb cable, upload and download are both 1024k biggrin.giftounge.gif

MP was a fetaure of this game that we payed for, and its unfair that we have to give it up because the new patch buggered MP up for (what looks like) GOOD!

I not flaming BIS but they should have tested this patch before releasing it sad.gif I hope BIS makes the MP problems there priority, otherwise ill go nuts!!! confused.gif

What's done is done.

BIS have stated that they are working on this. No need for more posts about 'The MP-lag-issue'.

It does'nt help anyone posting more negative thoughts about the issue or BIS. They are working on it.
