Directly on the heels of the SLA, here at the final looks of the Takistani units:TfrEt6Lm.jpgrRXFLUlm.jpg

Left side is the OPFOR Takistani Militia, with more traditional Takistani clothing and Russian weapons.

Right side is the Independent Takistani Locals, more western style clothing and some western weapons

There are two extra units per side which were not in Arma 2 - a Mechanic (Engineer) and Bomb Builder (Explosive Specialist)

Coming soon in the next Units update

I just want to say again how impressive these models are and how excited I am to get to use them.

Does anyone know offhand if they'll be compatible with ALiVE's classname system when they are done? My goal is to replace my (old) CAF Aggressors OPFOR with these but wasn't sure if your units are generally config'd to be ALiVE compatible?

I have this version, but still can't see this units in zeus :(

They still have problems in multiplayer lobbies, you need to add the addons to the requiredAddons[] array in the mission.sqm file.

Yeah, Takistan is not available at all, nor are the German KSK. The USMC has only a few vehicles and as far as I can tell all the other factions don't have access to everything they should.

 

Edit: I'm slow at posting. So they don't work unless you make your own Zeus game mode?

I see "men" category in editor, but then i start the game and start zeus mode there is no "Men" class in Takistan Army.

Yes CUP has ALiVE compatible group configs for all factions

Not one to be out done by F-35's.

Time for a little dev blog about recreating the RACS!

 

It seemed pretty obvious that after bringing the SLA back into the fold. I would have to work on recreating the RACS faction to counter them. So I set about taking the reworked KSK base and changing it into Cookie Chip. The original faction had a larger scale on the pattern so I tried to strike a balance between that and looking off. The USMC helmet does nicely for a fitting helmet. Then onto adding the appropriate weapons and classes. You'll find the original line up in there along with new M47 Dragon and Carl Gustav soldiers. The javelin seemed overkill and the Gustav seemed a natural choice for a MAT team given it's abundance around the world. 

 

Now me being me. And having created a little SLA tribute to Rellikki. I had to do it again in the form of a Desert T-pattern

I'm still coming up with ideas for a woodland pattern. Debating on if I want to use something like Spanish leaf, or perhaps a M81 pattern with some grey colorway for the mountains of North Sahrani.

 

I've worked on these guys for the best part of my day off, so I think it's time for a beer  :cheers:

You deserve that beer. They look great.

And I think Spanish leaf would make a good woodland pattern for them. It's nice to have lesser seen patterns and they are supposed to speak a version of Spanish unless I'm mistaken.

Zeus see another addons and CUP faction "Takistan Army" , but there is no only "men" vehicleclass in it. I can put men units only in 2d editor only.

You're right, for some reasons the fix didn't make it to the release.

Weird, because there was nothing to fix in the first place as far as i remember.

I just tested it with our internal version and it works fine, i should check that with the public release but i suspect it will work the same.

Does it happen only with taki army or other factions too?

For example, USMC "Men" Visible, Takistany locals too.

For me Takistan doesn't appear at all. The German KSK also don't appear and the USMC only have a motorbike, a few desert HMMWVs and the Uh-1s. I don't know about anyone else.

I'd be surprised if the USMC have desert HMMVW's, they should only have the Woodland variants and the US Army has the Desert ones.

You are right about the HMMVWs, but everything else I said is true for me. The few vehicles the USMC does have also are driven by vanilla NATO units.

Tested right now with the released version, and indeed, Takistani Army doesn't show Men. The current internal build does, though, so all we can say is "will be fixed in next version"

What shell i do in config to fix it? It's too long to wait for next release.
