the_demongod 31 Posted February 28, 2015 If there won't be any new bolt-action sniper rifle that will be disappointing :/ Unfortunately I doubt there will be any. The next weapons will probably be the 2 LMGs, and then 2 more semi-auto rifles (probably for FIA and AAF). Maybe AAF or FIA will get a bolt-action, but I'll still be sad because I really want one for BLUFOR and OPFOR.
babylonjoke 22 Posted February 28, 2015 Same team that already deemed weapon resting anims to be out of scope... Is there any game that has weapon resting animation as exemple? I can't get it into my imagination
Mug Runcher 12 Posted March 1, 2015 I agree. I think the next two pics to be released with be MMGs and then, fingers crossed, we'll get some kind of bolt action. Just looking through the pictures again I never realized that .300 Win Mag was in the ammo list (or that German calibre) so I have hope yet. So two new pics got released. A battle-rifle in that German round, and an MMG in .338 Norma Magnum. Very interesting, but no bolts :/ EDIT: http://arma3.com/assets/img/challenge/05_arma3_marksmen_NATO_MMG_BL639KTm.jpg <-- The gun markings and the bullet say one thing but the box underneath says another. Is it .338 LM or not?
dunedain 48 Posted March 1, 2015 If you dislike achievements, you can use Steam Achievement Manager (At your own risk), I always unlock all achievements for my games to get rid of them... :)So you could say I cheated in this "challenge". I use SAM all the time too, to unlock certain items on Payday2, used it in the past in Killing Floor and TF2 as well. I wouldn't call it a cheat, but a shortcut for those like me who don't care for achievements and actually want access to all the content from the game they bought. Probably why Valve is still tolerating it after all those years. Anyway the challenge takes three mins top, I did it on the red1 challenge.

Thank you for advice, I'll consider giving it a try. :)

Is it .338 LM or not? A lot of these look like new NATO weapons. The ASP-1 is CSAT for sure. The Cyrus has a CSAT guy holding it, too. Although a don't understand why there's a need for a Cyrus or something if the Rahim is already there.

It was as if a thousand logisticians cried out against the tons of weird new calibers, and were suddenly silenced. I feel a disturbance in the supply chain. Imperator[TFD] 444 Posted March 2, 2015 I'm down with a re-do of CTRG equipment. They're clearly missing: Cups of tea Red coat Grenadier cap Crumpets Bag pipes Stiff upper lips And of course some extra dialouge: "Jolly good show chaps!" "Smashing!" "Give them what for lads!" Edit: Can't get in trouble for this post from any pommies - you already sent my ancestors to convict land ;)

semiconductor 309 Posted March 3, 2015 (edited) Making something a reward makes people want it.I wonder how far away the day when some generic ad with "Premium Deluxe Elite Professional Limited-Edition Gold-Members-Access-Only" sticker placed over it will make people want to pay loads of money for being able to see it (and make them feel very proud and unique when they actually see it). :Dinb4 that day was, like, 30 centuries ago, slowpoke. By that point the monkeys will have got used to advertising for a company for zero reward at all, so the moment the Super deluxe Millionaire edition for a mere $1 million comes out the free advertising on what a great deal it is will be all over everything gumming up the internet. I just have a new perspective where all the traffic on the internet goes, its to rubbish like this. I don't even know why any of us replied, we are in a minority of people who realise how absurd it is that this sort of thing works. A little piece of my faith in humanity died, I now know 3000 people are BI advertising shrills for nothing but the reveal of some marketing pictures 2 days early. The devil must have it easy, souls must be going for $1.
das attorney 858 Posted March 3, 2015 I'm not adverse to it, but it seems pointless to take part imo. They've already done the pictures and obviously want to show them off. They didn't give a solid target (like 3000 people need to complete it to "unlock" pictures") so obv target is mutable, which implies they can issue the pictures by saying something vague like "enough people have done it". So I thought I might as well do nothing and the pictures will definitely be released anyway, and they were.
chompster 29 Posted March 3, 2015 Variety is the spice of life ;)Also, the faction names are in the image url path names. Not all of them seem to have it, but if the guy holding it is anything to go by it seems that AAF is yet again getting the short end of the stick with this DLC..Aside from the Mk-1 EMR, all the other ones seem so out of place and the caliber for most of them are just ridiculous to say the least. Also really? an M14? just...why..

So I thought I might as well do nothing and the pictures will definitely be released anyway, and they were. Not quite true. While yes, pointless as you're 1 in at least a million, nobody doing anything would result in nothing. You doing nothing does not mean everyone did nothing, and there most certainly wasn't a secret condition "To release pictures Das Attorney must also do the achievement". :p First goals were steam achievement global tracking percentage based, but the goals were too ambitious. There was a tangible goal. Then they swapped it to 3000 new achievements needed to be earned, everyone who already had it was eliminated. As we know, the steam global achievements did in fact move from 1.3% to 1.4% which means at least 1000 new people have gained the achievements (assuming 1mil owners). Ofcourse, we cannot verify this as we do not have direct access to those numbers. Additionally, this was muddied as the Free Weekend players of Arma 3 are also calculated in those global percentage trackers, so 1mil owners probably a severe understating of the actual number of the owners. If you double the owners to 2 mil (assuming free weekend people included, and it's not a long shot considering the concurrent peak on steam is 8mil people) and say that the achievement actually moved by 0.15% to 1.45% but it's rounded down to 1 decimal on the stats page, that's exactly around 3k people needed, which isn't really a long shot. I'm not really seeing the reason to doubt that everything was unlocked by actual achievement gains, but I also don't think that they wouldn't show everything even if things weren't unlocked on time. das attorney 858 Posted March 3, 2015 "To release pictures Das Attorney must also do the achievement" Ha, funny notion :) I liked the ARG's they did as it was actually a community effort, (with different people good at different parts of it) - but the nature of this one didn't appeal (Everyone doing the same repetitive task in their bedrooms). If they did some sort of co-op mission or something where you play together online and try and complete it (with a little special mission released specifically for the unlock), then that would have been really cool and worth getting involved in. Just my thoughts though :)

On one side note, I like the new weapons, I hope they are going to show the new attachments now, this game is missing unique equipmeant/attachments.
