Veteran mod (VTN) - announcement and WIP

Guys sorry if this has already been replied to, but I couldn't find it anywhere. 

 

How do I interact with my inventory?

For example, how do I put ear protection?

How do I interact with the medical system?

Does VTN uses custom user actions?

Which ones should I map on my keyboard to properly use VTN features?

Simple pso-1 scope and it's sand version not visible in 3Den's arsenal in attachements for svd and all AK's, only "camo" version and 1m2-1 is visible. As always vanilla game without mods, without GM DLC

^I haven't run into that bug, although it seems the camo PSO-1 scopes don't point to an existing string (their names are blank in Arsenal).

 

Other bugs I've found are:

  • AK103 BP magazine's name doesn't match other AKM/103 magazines (starts with "AK103", where all others start with "7.62")
  • 6Sh104 SVD vests and Podsumok AK vests have too small capacity (containerClass) to carry the recommended combat load. SVD vests can carry about 4 SVD mags and 2 grenades, Podsumok AK vests can carry about 2 5.45 AK mags and 2 grenades.
  • SNB Tigr 20rnd mags all show woodland camo. Tigr mags in other calibers show proper camo.
  • Some magazines (namely RPK74M BS and AK74 Plum TM) show wrong ammo type in HUD (in pictures below)

I'm getting really addicted to this mod, the lack of zoom and medical/inventory system are really refreshing and it's nice that the AI automatically assist their wounded. Particle effects are also super nice. It's really satisfying to see the puff of pink smoke when you nail an enemy from afar.

is there any configurations for this mod ??

also, can you enable the zoom feature for the night vision binoculars?

and how to put stuff inside the backpacks?

1. No. Just hides it. You still can use chat in lobby. But not in game.

I was planning to inform you about this, but you were quicker in releasing an update. Anyway in case you didn't correct this on the last version here are two glitches I found.

 

Having an issue using rpk mags on akm's:

Also had a problem with VTN_TOYOTA_LC_HZJ79. It was showing a weird shadow at middle range but I can't reproduce it.

Is doing a BMP-T in your future plans?  I'm hoping one of RHS, CUP, Russia 2035 or you guys have one in the works.

Also, any potential aircraft in the pipeline, rotary or fixed wing?

 

Do you guys have a discord or anything just outta curiosity?

All In progress. Planes, helicopters... all of this.

We already have all this tanks, vehicles and guns in other mods. I think that Veteran mod need to focus on adding ARMA 3 what is the fact that it still has not been added by any mod. For example, the T-62, MT-12 rapier anti-tank gun (perhaps also more guntracks) would be much more interesting to see, since the T-62 in huge quantities has been used and is still used. But from these guys with their level of skill and quality I will be glad to any content!

If you mean CUP and RHS I disagree because they don't mix well with VTN in aesthetics or sound, and at least in case of RHS it's not even compatible. VTN, CUP and RHS are mutually exclusive. If you mean other mods besides CUP and RHS please say which ones, I don't know any others with the same type of basic content and amount of assets.

well i have them all installed and mixed with some editing for personal use only

only "some editing"?  I can barely imagine the amount of effort needed to make mags interchangeable, sounds consistent and damage systems compatible between those three AND adapting to each update AND in the end you can't even share it with people. But sometimes we just got to have exactly what we want 😁
