X-Cam prototype map

Recommended Posts

you can create hills etc. or is this map groundbased of altis? It sounds serious if you can create a complete new world from scratch or something like that :O

No, from what I understand it is just to place objects not build the actual terrain.

Normally yes but atm there is a problem with importing roadtype objects into TB

But there is no Roadtool like in VBEDIT for VBS

Correct. Someone still has to do the dirty work within vis/tb. I hope one day we get the ability for realtime terrain deforming in arma.

This map is so cool. I watched the video of the drive around and was like :O

Its so much more detailed and how you would expect things to be then what Stratis and Altis are. I just wanna play on it! :D

Great work!

It likely took some series time BIS put into making Altis/Stratis... But if they had this, we probably would have been so far ahead of where we are now. It looks like the X-Cam can do the job of object placement a ton faster and more neat. Not only that, but there's not even a tree or road sign in the road. BIS might as well use this to start creating the new map for the Expansion. XD

BIS has to take performance into serious consideration.

Blimey what you guys can do now, is nothing short of amazing.

Any thoughts to a shared "library" of constructions you have created ? I.e. somewhere I can download a "Silola's-supermarket" to install in a mission or on a map ?

Not a bad idea to share some "constructions" with you, but all the object packs are "WorkInProgress" :-/ So, maybe later.

Just be sure that we get them with X-Cam! ;D But it would be a really nice idea (for some day in the future) that X-Cam Users could exchange some cool structures they "invented"

What? DID YOU JUST BUILD THAT? Out of Objects? Like... Literally constructed that structure? Or am i interpreting this wrong... Amazing detailed building by the way. LOVE the creativity.

Yes, these objects were assembled from individual parts. But not the trees ;)

How is the AI on the map and also in constructions like that, do they have any pathfinding problems? Hope not :)

@andersson

atm this map is not build with AI in mind --> Prototype

If those constructions would work with AI imagine the time that could be saved by content creators building buildings out of objects instead of 3d modeling them and then texturing and then coding them in. Its literally like playing Arma erectors! You could build endless possibilities.

Siola, you win the forums. Lol That's fucking amazing. Now maybe someone can finish that construction site that BIS ported from Arma 2 that's... still not an actual building. This is so cool, it might actually get me into making a mod. Maybe.
