X-Cam prototype map

Recommended Posts

This map is certainly looking amazing, I just hope it will be optimized somewhat.

@Spartan

And again .............

this map is not build with AI or performance optimisation in mind BECAUSE it is only to show what "YOU" can do with xCam.

The creator in front of the computer is the performance killer (i want more and more and more objects) like we do atm :-)

The map is not primary build to play on it

xCam is not able to optimize the engine

xCam is not able to build a complete new building with ruins and all behavior

The object looks like a real building or whatever and if the creator has an eye on some engine related restriction things, it should react nearly normal.

ATM we do not have the time to test any roadways or path objects (my tests with Arma1 failed, but thats some years ago let´s hope the best)

It should just be clear that there will mostly be no animation with new xCam Metal objects so far some of them will also be non destructable otherwise there would be too much objects hanging around in the air.

If you want to use the nice options from xCam and also look for performance then you just have to set your "specials" very wisely and not such an amount like we do :-)))))))))))))))))))

beside this there was a DAC and T800 Mission Test yesterday :bounce3:

After seeing these screenshots, my concern is performance.

How is the performance because with all of those objects and foliage placed down permanently on the map, wouldn't that decrease performance significantly?

Besides that, the map is looking amazing, really looking forward to getting my hands on X-Cam.

Also did you enter this in the MANW contest because I didn't see it, and if you did I would love to vote for you.

Hi,

thanks for clarification, 10T.

As I said before, this map will be a kind of a show case map.

If You want to play on it, maybe You need the latest top hardware,

but our main idea was to give You some inspiration, to show You what You can build,

if You have available the right object packs and so on.

On the picture below for example, I've build a stair in connection with some metal objects and it looks okay in my opinion.

On the second picture You can see all the single objects I've used to build this construct,

to give You an idea, which details You can built if you invest the time (round about 10 min. for this one).

Just a question and my apologies in advance if this has been answer previously but with these walls and construction pieces, will they have the ability to have other textures applied to them? for example I want the outside of the wall to have a concrete texture applied to it and the inside just to stay as shown in your images?

Hi,

all the objects u can see on the pictures, are from different object packs

and all the object packs are "WorkInProgress" ... and sorry,

I've no idea how many texture variants You will get with the release of the prototype map :-/

Maybe Atsche or poolpunk can give an answer ;-)

bye

Stop teasing us , please !!

Not a chance :p

But seriously, if You don't like it to see the progress we have on this map,

then do not enter this thread and wait until a new thread in 2016 is open ... like "x-Cam prototype map released" :)

Just to go OT for a quick sec... "Lukáš Veselý, The Associate Producer on Arma 3, suggested in an interview for HerniMag magazine that Arma 4 could be released in 2017. On the other hand he also mentioned that it is just a speculation. He also said that he is pretty sure that the sequel will be produced in future as ARMA series "still proves to be a strong brand and a viable project and we will take care of her." - Wiki. They just might attempt recruiting mr Silola here and his team to get this XCam as a feature for ArmA4
