Hi! A version of this mission in Chernarus is planned?

Hello Disab,

Unfortunately Chernarus will not work well with this mission due to lack of enterable buildings. When CUP releases their version I may do a port over. It should have the enterable buildings upgrade. I have however just finished and tested on dedi an Al Rayak version. Its really is a sweet Island. Lots of new features and improvements as well including

AI halo, bail from choppers, Stand alone MHQ system, mod compatible vehicle rewards/spawner, support for Iraqi Syrian conflict and Leights Opfor pack, all script errors fixed, and much more that I can't remember off the top of my head.

Since some days running this excellent mission on a dedicated server, I would like to restart it. The problem is that I would like to be able to save the current progress, so that after the restart we could continue conquering the whole map. Is it possible in any way?

Howdy Everyone!

It was brought up by friends that an insurgency mission may be interesting to play, so I downloaded a few and lucked out finding yours - I really like the features and I have found lots of useful information after reading this thread! Thanks for all the hard work Jigsor!

I am just now learning about missions and how to customize them, so my apologies for any naivety on my part...

- After a Short preliminary test of your Altis mission I noticed that the game time runs close to real time, starting at 12pm and 1 second per 1 second there after...

How can I change this to a quicker rate?

- Also, I have seen an insurgency mission running on a server where no red grids show up on the player's map, I thought this was a neat idea and I am curious how to do the same in BMRI!

- Finally, I see you mention Lobby parameters... What are these, and where/how do I use them?

I will unpack the .pbo and do some pawing around - for all I know there could be a readme telling me all about it!

Any tips would be greatly appreciated,

Thank You. At the slotting/player select screen there is a button on bottom of page called Parameters. It has all the options you can set at game start.

You need to be logged in as admin on dedicated or the local host to change them.

Once your in game you can see what the current settings are by opening the map then go to Log then Parameters.

You will find start time in there. The real weather option does have some time acceleration.

To adjust the speed the way you like you would have to edit the script scripts\real_weather.sqf. Look for time ratio variable _timeratio.

As for the red grids. There are a few scripts that evaluate, depend and make decisions based on the current color of them so currently its not possible to have all invisible zones.

A good tip I can recommend to all. On dedicated server do not use command #restart instead use #missions to restart the mission. Don't know if there is a problem with that command, but the mission never starts correctly when I use it. Its been a problem with other missions as well.

I have a ported BornHolm version ready, but it needs some testing and feedback. This Island is so intensive on CPU that I cannot properly test it.
I need your help. There may be problems with the island itself and not the mission because I've tried this revision on newly ported Al Rayak version and Altis and it plays fine.
I'm getting an Arma 3 popup error relating to vehicle configs and seeing graphical anomalies on infantry along with erratic FPS with only @Bornholm loaded.
Maybe there is not a problem on higher performance machines.
The Al Rayak vesion is awesome. Maybe the best insurgency map I've seen.

Hi Jigsor! I have a couple of questions. Will you be adding in a version where you spawn as a RHS unit and have RHS vehicles at base? Will you be adding in an ACE version with ACE revive and ACE medical systems? With these two mods Insurgency would be perfect for me :)

Hello Zinthorr,

A main goal in the development of this mission for me has been to keep absolute mod dependencies out of the build and instead have mods or mod combinations as optional.

This means only having to maintain one version per Island.

Modded playable units cannot be made optional. No way to script this as far as I know.

However you can customize. Take a look at post #139 regarding blufor customization

And for playable units an extra step is required.

In INS_definitions.sqf you must add unit class names to the arrays in the code block located under

// Player class types

Regarding ACE, the mission is already compatible. Just load ACE and disable revive system in lobby parameters.

Version 1.43 alpha and up have option of stand alone MHQs with revive disabled.

To change default behavior of or customize ACE, the simplest way is to place ACE modules in editor and edit their properties with editor module GUIs.

I've been trying to make mission auto detect ACE and have module parameters customizable by #include "Hpp\AceModuleSettings.hpp" in description.ext but haven't had much luck with it yet.

Quick question, do one of the revive options in the mission parameters have the ability to revive without the FirstAidKit/Medickit? It seems that when someone has ACE on and they are playing in a vanilla version of the mission with revive settings, there is no way to revive someone because with ACE it gets rid of FirstAidKits/Medickits for ACE related medical supplies.

Do you mean some players have ACE and some don't and so you want it to be compatible with any medical system?

If that is the case, I don't think its possible.

Its best that all players have ACE and use one of the Revive system lobby params

"Revive System Disabled. Mobile HQ Disabled."

"Revive System Disabled. Mobile HQ Enabled."

or

No one run ACE/use signature check to not allow it and select any other other Revive system parameters.

Another good tool for unpacking or repacking pbo files is Eliteness

Editor placed vehicles with exception of MHQs have a line in the init field initializing Iceman77's vehicle respawn script.

Two numbers are passed to the script.

Example:

_nul = [this, 2, 1, {}] execVM "vehrespawn.sqf"

2: abandoned delay in minute(s) before respawn

1: destroyed delay in minute(s) before respawn

The MHQs have their own respawn settings within other scripts and should not be changed or else may break MHQ systems.

I don`t know if that has been asked already but is there doable way to alter the mission so that the intel is dropped by insurgents again and doesn`t spawn in houses (basically,the old-old system) without wrecking the rest of the mission in itself? also,i have serious problems finding the Heli extraction call,i fooled around in the editor only and no unit seems to be able to do it

edit: to clarifiy,this isn`t intended to smear your work or steal it or something,the mission is top notch.it is just that the people i play with do like the "intel drop" system better than the "search trough buildings to find intel" :/

The intel system is different than original insurgency as indicated in mission description.

It cannot be easily converted with the existing system. I see the strategy of gaining intel as more

of clear the area/grid in order to safely gather intel as unexposed intel positions are already marked on the map by default rather than searching through buildings.

Hiding intel positions by lobby parameter just makes it tougher and you would have to search through buildings.

I don't know if any servers even used that option. I don't.

Regarding extraction, only editor named player CAS1 can call it in.

There is a locality fix in the 1.43alpha version that has improved repeatability of extraction and works very well with the newly integrated BIS group manager.

If for some reason extraction bugs out, is not not available again after one use or cancel, the server resets extraction when player CAS1 rejoins the server.

The reset fixes odd issues most of the time. Extraction is still WIP. Check these things, if still a problem I'll try to help trouble shoot further.

Note that replacing the folder JIG_EX (extraction scripts) from any older mission with the folder from 1.43alpha should work with any version.

Its to limit the havoc opfor player can do to a bunch of guys mostly playing coop.

In the editor you can add more of the same opfor unit type if you like or delete opfor entirely.

It will have no affect on mission scripts or error wise anyway.

Hello Jigsor, we have been playing your mission for some time now and I have to say it's one of the best performing Insurgency games out there, the FPS are great...well done.

Now on another note I'm not sure if you have discussed this already but if we were to remove the BTK cargo + BTC logistics and replace it with the RF3 would you be OK with this please?

If you are Ok would we need to change the public variables when collecting the box and dropping it of to ensure the mission activates correctly?

I had no success trying to make R3F work with delivery mission in the past. Most of the comment notation and variable names are in French and has many scripts so its not easy for me to follow the script flow. I'm pretty sure that R3F does not set variables on the transporter object and cargo object when loaded. That would have to be incorporated into R3F to make work with delivery mission as it is. delivery.sqf has script waiting for these variables to become true which are set in BTK\Cargo Drop\Engine.sqf

Hi Jigsor, love the missons. I have Altis and Bornholm on two dedi. servers and it is running nice..

But how do i chance the default parameter (on lobby screen), so i dont have to set it up every time i restart the servers.?

Very nice! Lots of changes/fixes I see.

Added: Optional Bail from chopper ability/Extended EventHandler. Requires CBA mod

Do clients (and server) need CBA or just the server?
