katipo66 94 Posted June 8, 2013 Really useful mod, nice! Would be nice to see an automatic option/version as mentioned before, possibly without the icon and only the weapon resting noise as a indicator? Or a bit more alpha transparency on the icon or something so it's more subtle. This only because it can become quite distracting trying to rest the weapon when in closer type firefights. I second the adjustment on the Icon.. maybe smaller? translucent maybe? Or just a quick hint.. I also feel it distracts a bit.. Wolfstriked 11 Posted June 9, 2013 I find this mod brilliant!!! The amount of recoil reduction was chosen perfectly in that at distance you get less recoil but its still not laser like at all.Another thing I love is how you must find good firing positions and this just opens the game up to me immersion wise.Where before I just laid down anywhere I now find myself looking for good positions where the angle of the ground allows me to deploy.BIS should also prevent the amount you are allowed to lean upwards as first it looks off and secondly its a real immersion boost to have to find better firing positions IMO.What I do not like though is that BIS prevents you from laying down on angles too steep. This feels off to me when being fired upon and I just wanna get as low as possible.:( Please add in sway reduction as that is an important part of weapon resting. HazJ 1289 Posted June 10, 2013 I have got it working now, thanks to Predator.v2 for sending me the working 'Key' for the mod!!! Dirty Haz
RadeonHawk68 10 Posted June 13, 2013 Does this mod support the LRR .408? I don't think is does because the gun moves up, down, left and right.
Predator.v2 10 Posted June 13, 2013 This addon doesn't affect weapon sway (yet), only the firing recoil.
twisted 128 Posted June 15, 2013 Enjoying this one. thanks! one thing, a bipod should be limiting to the angle you can rotate your rifle to as in the ace2 mod. not sure how easy that'd be to implement.\ but itd be good. :)
kremator 1065 Posted June 15, 2013 Does this mod support the LRR .408? I don't think is does because the gun moves up, down, left and right. It should support all weapons if you are prone. It will also work if you are able to lean on something as well.
Predator.v2 10 Posted June 15, 2013 It should support all weapons if you are prone. It will also work if you are able to lean on something as well. I don't think so. You can't "deploy" weapons that easily on the ground. Most of the time you see soldier to lay their weapons upon their backpacks. In ACE you could only deploy bipods on the ground and all the other weapons on objects and i think that was the best realism/gameplay compromise.
gatordev 218 Posted June 16, 2013 First up, I really like your addon and think it's a welcome addition. Thanks for releasing it. I don't think so. You can't "deploy" weapons that easily on the ground. Most of the time you see soldier to lay their weapons upon their backpacks. In ACE you could only deploy bipods on the ground and all the other weapons on objects and i think that was the best realism/gameplay compromise. I understand that gameplay/game engine may be a limitation, but here's some food for thought on how bipods can still work on objects other than the ground. http://www.flickr.com/photos/socalsheepdog/8233090315/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/socalsheepdog/8233089999/ (Not my pics, but taken in a Magpul class I took) A rifle can be surprisingly stable this way, so allowing a rifle with a bipod (in game) to stabilize on a wall or object is still realistic. At the end of the day, it's great the way it is and I'll continue to use it, but thought I'd put that out there.

Wolfstriked 11 Posted July 10, 2013 This is great to remove those times when you are standing near an object with weapon rested on it and the weapon is swaying like crazy......immersion destroying! But this is only for weapon rested recoil (and now sway). We still have the excessive recoil when crouching and standing. One thing I would like to see to really complete it is to combine in the Nikoteen recoil mod fix so you get a bit less recoil overall and then retweak VTS weapon resting to get same effect as now when rested. If you use both mods the recoil will be very little unless they are worked into one mod.
