NordKindchen 12 Posted April 13, 2013 Excellent work! I have to say I was a bit sceptical because when I used Sixupdater a few years ago - it was rather complicated though it had great possibilites of course. I am very happy to see such an excellent gui! Really like it! The only thing I am missing so far is a possibility to add already existing modfolders (such as ones own current projects) to the mod list. I know the startup parameters are easily accessable and ready to serve that issue - but I am sure there is a more elegant way to improve this;) Keep up the great work! Best regards! Phil5000 1 Posted April 15, 2013 Hi. I'm new to Arma 2 and modding it, and would like to use Play withSix to play DayZ and some other mods, and could use a little bit of help. I hope this hasn't been asked before or that it's not in the wrong place or I'm breaking some other rule. So first thing I did is download Play withSix and installed that. It automatically installed Microsoft Net Framework 4. But when I tried to run it I got an error message saying it needed a hot fix for Net Framework. No problem, it gave me the path. But when I got to the site there are three files; NDP40-KB2468871-v2-IA64.exe, NDP40-KB2468871-v2-x64.exe, NDP40-KB2468871-v2-x86.exe. How do I know which one I need? Windows XP Service Pack 3 AMD 64 X2 Dual Core 4600+ 3Gig RAM Nvidia Geforce GTS 250 If anyone could help me out that would be great. Many thanks.
sickboy 13 Posted April 15, 2013 Hi, since you are running Windows XP, you're probably running 32-bit, that means you'll need the x86.exe. Hope this helps.

sickboy 13 Posted April 15, 2013 Sickboy,Just wondering if there's any way to add mods to a particular place in the modline with PwS yet? I use a RAMdisk for some of the A2/OA vanilla files, so need to have the HDD folders for those first as normal, then my RAMdisk folders following, so that the modline in ArmA II Launcher looks like "-mod=D:\Games\ArmA 2;Expansion;ca;Expansion\beta;Expansion\beta\Expansion;s:\arma2-ram;s:\arma2oa\expansion-ram;acrlite;@baf;@pmc;@cba_co;@blastcore_visuals;" So basically I need to insert the mods in the line after the default vanilla folders and before the third-party mods and this needs to be a single global setup that applies to every server. Hi, We're still looking into loading order but it is not a high prio. There's several issues with your setup btw; - You shouldn't load expansion\beta;expansion\beta\expansion before the ramdisk expansion folders, but after. As they contain newer configs than the original/patched game. - You shouldn't load arma2-ram after expansion or beta, you should load it directly after D:\games\arma 2. As OA has newer data than arma2. As workaround you could move the ramdisk expansion files elsewhere, and use symlinks in the expansion folder, to the ramdisk expansion folder. It would solve the problem for good. Otherwise I was thinking you could try adding the whole desired "-mod=" line, minus dlcs and mods, into the Games -> ARMA 2 CO/OA -> Settings -> Startup Parameters field. I think that will override the load order dictated by pws :) ---------- Post added at 10:36 ---------- Previous post was at 10:33 ---------- That was fast. Thanks very much. Of course, no problem! :) ---------- Post added at 10:39 ---------- Previous post was at 10:36 ---------- Excellent work!I have to say I was a bit sceptical because when I used Sixupdater a few years ago - it was rather complicated though it had great possibilites of course. Hi and thanks for your kind words, glad to hear you're enjoying! On the Mods browser, on the right side you can add mods to your set. There's a category "Local" which contains your local mods. Only mods placed in the configured Mod installation directory for the active game will be detected. Currently if equal modfolder name exists on the network, the local mod is not shown under local, but under the category we have it listed on, mind you in that case such modfolder will be converted and updated to the network version. We're on the verge of major expansion of our distribution technology, package management etc, as well as we're working on the UI design overhaul pt2; libraries and collection management, both should much enhance the experience. More on all that .. soon!

galzohar 31 Posted April 25, 2013 Any progress on dealing with AllInArma (as in, being able to include A2 mods in preset)? How does PWS interact with the in-game launcher? I've had some people having problems that seem to be related to the in-game launcher, but have no idea how to reproduce it. In general, mods were not activated even though they were in the PWS preset, and messing around with the in-game launcher (or reinstalling PWS) seems to have eventually fixed it - As in, launching the game from PWS would launch the correct mods from the PWS preset. Support for loading mods from sub-games is prepped for next release, next week probably. The ingame modloader to the best of my knowledge is disabled once -mod= is used from startup parameters. .kju 3245 Posted April 26, 2013 I doubt that. More likely is that people have both steam parameter line plus PwS active.
sickboy 13 Posted May 6, 2013 ;2382295']I doubt that. More likely is that people have both steam parameter line plus PwS active. Since the latest release we're scanning for steam startup parameters and warning the user about them when they are set. We're still looking at more ways to deal with Steam launching issues, esp in relation to admin rights etc.

cifordayzserver 119 Posted May 16, 2013 Thanks for all your great work on PwS! I love it and have been using it as my launcher since the last version of Six Updater. I was curious if you've considered mining/publishing the stats for servers/maps/players... coming from the DayZ Community and being on a dev team, a frantic player, and a server admin, I'd love to see who's playing which mod, on what map, and how often. I think it would be a great feature for admins/hosts and players alike to see the stats. Sorry if this has been suggested before, or is already available, if so please point me in the right direction! Also what is the best method to contact you privately with some questions? PM Here? Your Forums? Skype?

Sorry if this has been suggested before, or is already available, if so please point me in the right direction! We've had stats for a long time, also in the older SIX Updater portal, however due to ever increasing performance and storage concerns and focus being elsewhere, we've paused it for the time being. We want to start providing this again in the near future though, we had quite some cool graphs going :) Also what is the best method to contact you privately with some questions? PM Here? bad benson 1733 Posted July 16, 2013 @ sickboy: since i can't send you a private message i'll try it here. some people keep reporting stuff about my mid range terrain texture replacement which is related to them using the old version. some of the posts in my thread indicate, that this is due to six/play with Six using the old version of my addon. if that is true, please update the file on your servers, if that is possible. here's the link http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=19524&highlight=BAD%2BBENSON%2BMIDRANGE thx in advance

bumgie 49 Posted August 17, 2013 Just popped in to say that keep up the good work on PWS. It truly is a game changer. Play sessions are so much more easier to organize and get going thanks to PWS. Also will mod upload and update in the future be done by the mod developer rather than people on PWS side ?
ProfTournesol 956 Posted August 20, 2013 Hi, i apologize if the question was already answered, but i wish to move my mods directory from default C:\Users\xx\Documents\arma 2 to my D: drive. Before i screw everything up ;), is it as easy as cut / paste the given ArmA 2 directory to the D: drive, then change the path in the PwS game settings ? Ivan911 1 Posted August 21, 2013 I think i will give a try to PwS but before i do i have few questions. My plan is to use PwS only to get latest ACE and to be able join servers that use latest version. Nothing else i would prefer to play vanilla Arma 2 without PwS. After install: 1) Can i launch regular Arma 2(vanilla) without PwS launcher? 2) If i choose to install PwS mods in different folder can i leave my mods and addons in C:\Games\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA 2 3) I wont play ACE all the time so my question is will i have problems joining regular no mods servers?
