Multi-Session Operations v4.4 released

Recommended Posts

I was wondering if it was possible to get something like the revive timer from domination into mso, for we like its realistic that when you die you die, but we would like to have the timer when you die so you can still be revived.. not sure how to do it at all. so any help would be nice.

And its the ace version i refer to

Just add stuff in the editor. No need to fettle the DB unless something breaks horribly, which hasn't happened yet.

Hmm. So adding enemy groups/waypoints etc won't be touched by any MSO modules? Interesting...

Thanks to Jman, we can provide another Release Candidate (v.3) with a focus on ACE!

It is compatible with the "old" RC PersistentDB (so no changes needed if you installed PDB with RC2).

- Important fix for ticket #43440: Clicking the map continue button before the mission 'notes' briefing has loaded results in the PDB init getting bypassed.

- ACE Chernarus, ACE Utes added

- ACE Clafghan MSO with special additional locations for enemy population added

Get it here!

Enjoy!

Not sure if this is a new MSO + PDB issue with ACE: In sector 000 000 there is a stack of tyres and jerry cans. With Object storing on in the DB settings, we had a pile of over a hundred of jerry cans after some time of play. We tested that and it is linked to the object store setting. As far as I can tell ACE does not "store" the jerrycans/tyres under the car now and every vehicle gets a duplicate of the tyre/jerrycan from the dump sector. However, when the car is stored it also saves the "items" it has. Since the jerry can is not an actual item in the inventory of the car, it is saved as an object over and over again.

Another question would be: how can I change the grid type appearance of the cities? It's rather difficult to read grid coordinates with the grid, I'd prefer a solid colour or just a "ring" around the area in the specific colour.

Thanks in advance!

Thx predator!

Which map? Takistan? Will have a look into it!

Re town-grid, Think its the markerbrush-type setting in townmanager module that is set to solid. Will check and get back to you!

Gidday highhead,

we use Lingor and only saw the heap of jerrycans because a player was accidentally spawned there.

Not sure if there is something similar on Takistan as we did not run further tests.

Thanks for the help! Btw, the new additions are really great. The task manager is quite a nice feature. Did not find out how to delete the marker if the task was removed, though.

PDB error?

Ok I had all this working fine then I loaded the new version of MSO 4.5RC2 and I am getting no errors with Baretail but in my Arma2NetSQL log file I am getting this error?

"unable to parse line: arma,127.0.0.1,3306,arma,password in Databases.txt file"

any ideas?

NEVERMIND: I see you have changed the Databases.txt file structure

Don't know if this is a known issue with v4.5 RC3 (I will hopefully try in v4.4 and report here) but with ACE I had issues with the ACE Interaction menu and any explosives. I could not do anything with satchel's, C4 or any explosives it seems. And once I placed the explosive I couldn't even pick it up again whatsoever other than with the "carry" type commands. I couldn't use the regular Arma scrollwheel to see the object and pick it up to put it back in gear and the ACE Interaction menu would not see it at all either. Major bummer as I fought very hard to rescue downed pilot and was not able to blow up the downed helo so the task was failed!! :(

Update: Tried v4.4 and explosives work fine and as expected. There must be something with v4.5 RC3 that interferes completely with ACE type explosives. Again, it isn't just the menu that doesn't work. Normal Arma functions do not work once you place the explosives on the ground.

We had the same issue, too. Only a few report this behaviour. The menu looks different and interaction with explosives does not work. We disabled PO2 to test if a module from MSO caused the issue. If you could check that on the server (if possible) this might help the devs to find the cause of this issue. With the current build of our MSO we do not have the issue with PO2 enabled.

Hey mates!

@Pred

- i looked into that and to change markertype you casupport\modules\crb_twnmgr\main.sqf on line 180 to any type you like, see available types here http://community.bistudio.com/wiki/setMarkerBrush. Its pretty simple to change, so we will leave it as is for now, since we didnt have requests in this direction yet and have to concentrate on more important fixes.

- The additional Taskmarker couldnt be deleted during a server session (after restart it was gone), so i simply excluded it, since with Team-markers you can place much better markers if really needed.

- Thx for the jerrycan hint. I could see them on my test (about 10), but it wasnt affecting gameplay at all. It is somehow ACE related and for me it was gone after server restart. Its an interesting thing that we will investigate further. We are thankful for inputs.

@Delta

- Be sure you have updated ACE config. FrizNit posted some useful hints regarding this issue some pages back. TBH, I never ever had any of this, not even after respawn (some ppl said it happens with respawn)!

Jman is pretty busy with fixing some last stuff and either there will be another RC4 or direct release in the upcoming days!

enjoy!

I'm using the branca outpost on Clafghan as the FOB and the airfield is only for the pilots. I've placed a BIS_Zora_0 trigger at the airbase and a BIS_Zora_1 trigger on the branca outpost. Enemies keep spawning at the airfield but never at branca. Do I need to change something else?

I've also added

0 = [this, 120,9999,0, FALSE, FALSE, "[this] execVM 'support\scripts\respawnMHQ.sqf'"]  execVM "support\scripts\vehicle.sqf"

To a stryker and changed the getMHQType.sqf to match a stryker. Everytime the stryker is deployed a new stryker respawns. Am I doing it wrong?

Hi!

There will be no enemies around "ammo" and "ammo_1" markers (safezone around bases), and "respawn_west".

Additionally place markers named CQB_BL0 - CQB_BL9 for blacklisted areas in CQB.

After you altered \support\modules\WHB_Multispawn\common\fn_getMHQType.sqf to match your favorite vehicletype, only use

0 = [this, _EnterYourRespawnTime, 9999999] execVM "support\scripts\vehicle.sqf";

in the init field of your vehicle. Set the timer to some high value like 7200 (for 2 hours) or even higher.

enjoy

TheDog - that's what VCB is doing right now in fact. We 'deployed' to Takistan 3 weeks ago, and have been fighting the same campaign since then. Not even the mission maker is certain where the enemy are or what they're doing, so between main op nights we've been sending out recce and fighting patrols to find the enemy, secure the Patrol Bases, clear local towns of enemy presence, or fetch supplies from the main FOB. These 'off night' patrol reports are written up on our forum and feed into the Int Summaries and Op Orders for our next main mission. We also 'augment' the MSO, so the editor can shut it down, add a few tweaks like an enemy patrol in a specific area to spice things up or move the story along, then restart the mission and continue where we left off. In this way we can also simulate theatre resupplies of kit and equipment. Meanwhile all the player and vehicle data - kills, shots fired, damage, kit and cargo - are shown on a website out of game for reference, and soon we'll have a live map showing locations of friendly forces and the tactical map markers we put down during missions.

It really is the culmination of years of hard work by Wollfy, Tup, Highead and the team, and it's a truly amazing achievement.

As Friznit said I have uploaded Proof of Concept live map of the Volcbat MSO Mission in Takistan, this map is fully dynamic and is updated as PDB is updated with the locations etc.

Hi!

Server message "SERVER MSG: Output is greater than 4096 bytes - NOT saving:..."

This is our char-limit check and means the object has too much content in it and therefore can't be saved, the rest saves normal. The message about 4096kb is a bit misleading since with latest betas the limit was increased to 16kb, but the problem is that the format-string limit is on 2kb still. So the limit is actually 2kb and should be raised also by BIS.

The message below however is what happens if an object is placed on map with really many different weapons and mags in it and our Char-limitcheck fails probably due to a custom-crate or a fully cargo-stuffed vehicle. Best is to delete the name of it so it wont be persistet, and all is fine again. We will also check our provided missions for that again.

enjoy

HH

Ok thanks for getting back to me, so you are suggesting that its a bad idea to store mags and weapons in the back of a vehicle? Bear in mind that when this particular information was extracted from the log files that this was a clean install of MSO so there should not have been any player interaction with the crates or any kind of storage in vehicles or crates.

It's likely to be a named ammo crate or equivalent that has a lot of weapons and mags in it by default. Some of the ACE ones are quite packed with stuff for example.
