Domination in Chernarus or Takistan?

Hello!

I have a small question, which map do you prefer on domination Chernarus or Takistan?

Im kinda going to use it as a reference if you could please vote!

What I'd really like to see is some other user made Islands used. Domination Duala would be nice.

Or...even Takistan where the human team plays as Takistani (OPFOR) Vs USA and Brit in the towns. I can't believe I no one else wants to do this. We have had Operation Arrowhead for 2 years and I have never really used any of their vehicles online. Too many patriotic US/UK server hosts who don't want to play the "bad guys" :) ? I dunno but it's a bloody boring attitude. I want to attack town in a T55 or T34 dammit and kill some Bradley's and Abram's. And what about that BTR60, that looks great to use.

There is a domination duala, just google for it, can't give you a link because this is my first post. :(

But I rather play domi on takistan but it would be kind of funny to play it on zargabad.

this isn't debatable. chernarus is a hundred times more interesting than takistan and features more varied enemies and missions. can't believe that takistan servers are so popular.

if you're citing performance, then lower settings or upgrade your computer.

Chernarus is the best, and I see no difference in performance between chernarus and takistan. Moreover most servers only use medium ai skill which is way too easy on takistan, in chernarus russians are harder to defeat.

Takistan is ugly.

I'd prefer Chernarus. There are a ton of Takistan Domination servers around already, and I don't quite see what having another one around will do to help. If you want to do something interesting, maybe try doing Domination: One Team EAST and play as the Russians or Takistanis instead of the usual US/USMC stuff.

I've never had a positive or remotely enjoyable Domination experience in Takistan, while I've had plenty in Chernarus.

Partially it may be the way the mission is set up, but my experiences so far are with what the popular servers ran:

Chernarus: Mostly play as US, with roughly equal Russian forces and rolling hills/forests making engagements somewhat difficult (fun) and rather tactical. The map is pretty and varied (some towns have fields around, some have wooded mountains). Also, no FLIR weapons were available.

Takistan: Always play as US, everybody takes FLIR sniper rifles and rushes to the nearest mountain to snipe as many untrained conscripts as possible. Rarely see an AO not completely steamrolled in under three minutes. Usually 1-2 minutes. It's very rare that I can actually get into a town and have a proper house-by-house firefight with the AI, and I'm usually racing to the AO as quickly as possible to experience this before the FLIR sniper horde happily skylines (evidently without danger) over the mountain. Any conscripts not in the town are on the opposite mountain, unshielded by anything. Even if the FLIR'n'stovepipe player horde didn't spiderman up and down the obscenely steep mountains, the AI will anyway.

I'd rather much have Chernarus, especially without FLIR weapons. If the new Czech terrain is actually "summer 'Chernarus'", I'd love to see Domi on that.

If it is a public server, I definitely prefer Chernarus, as like others wrote, it offers a harder game, where people have to go more on foot to clear out the towns, with less incentive for everybody just sniping from the mountain and more incentive for proper team play. That's partly due to the terrain, partly due to the Opfor being stronger (usually the Russians), and partly possibly of the mission setup. Of course I had some nice firefights with squads in Takistan as well, with proper insertion and town clearing and support from above, but not so often.

Actually, I would prefer to play on a server with fixed loadouts, holo sights at most and only few specialised sniper slots et cetera...

Yes, but you have to launch arma 2 standalone and not combined operations, there is a lot of chernarus coop and one pvp server.

You can even play as a russian on Chernarus against USMC.

As to the map, definitely Chenarus. Lingor would be lovely too. Eggbeasts Evo on Lingor is splendid.

Takistan, for me, is a bit "brown", dull and predictable although does have better framerates.

Chernarus all the way! More objects as far as terrain is concerned, and it's so much more interesting too. Not just hills and valleys, though I do like Takistan for other game modes "Patrol" like missions.

I really like Takistan because of the towns. Some of them are designed amazingly. It is a shame more servers don't utlilize the whole map of takistan, but rather just ramsan and batsam.

Chenarus has a great environment with woods and water, but I am not a fan of their towns.

yes sorry you can play chernarus on CO, what I meant was that you will have a hard time finding a coop or pvp server on chernarus if you launch CO everybody play on takistan with CO, but if you launch arma 2 1.11 there is plenty of coop on Chernarus.

I'd say Takistan. Domination just has that "Big army eat small army" thing going for it. And fighting russkies with conventional military gear just doesn't really suit it that well.

I currently host a Chenarus CO public server and much prefer that over Takistan. Like was mentioned earlier, it is much harder to capture a town on Chernarus than on Takistan. If the interest is great enough, I may be able to port Domination over to other islands as well. I used to have it on Panthera and that seemed a bit harder than Chenarus.
