SASrecon 0 Posted August 31, 2012 BI sent over A3 devs to work with Dean Hall on DayZ Beeeeep. Wrong, please do your research before blurting out random nonsense on a forum. Yes there is some sharing of information/work between DayZ devs and ARMA3 devs but that's only for the better, it's not hindering Arma3's development as you make it out to. Steakslim 1 Posted August 31, 2012 Cant believe BI sent over A3 devs to work with Dean Hall on DayZ.... Nobody needs a stand alone game THAT badly, and not to mention, they removed some of the future items/features because of this very reason ("So we can stick with the release dates"). >:| yeah i'm willing to take the infraction in saying that everything your quote is full of shit. bigpickle 0 Posted September 1, 2012 Isn't he referring to Dean Hall himself the net code guy for ArmA III. He's really the only guy "lost" from ArmA III but even then he's not really lost as if there are issues with the net code he has written he will have to fix it, and lets not forget DayZ is a very easy and profitable way for BI to increase funds which frees more funding to make ArmA III much better. Anyhow back to the topic, what is the schedule like now for the Alpha after games-con has been and gone? I cant find anything pinning down even a month that it might come, best i found was Autumn 2012.
.kju 3245 Posted September 1, 2012 Rocket was supposed to work on a multiplayer game mode for A3. He is no engine or net code programmer, but a scripter and mission designer.
Madeon 6 Posted September 1, 2012 DayZ is a very easy and profitable way for BI to increase funds which frees more funding to make ArmA III much better. Agreed. I think of DayZ as the Golden Goose, nurturing the Golden Goose is beneficial to Arma3's development.

chortles 263 Posted September 1, 2012 If I recall, the closest to an "official" story is that ARMA 3 hasn't actually lost anyone except Rocket to DayZ, and that was early into the phenomenon/well before the standalone's announcement, with the rest of the DayZ dev team being people he picked up who weren't already working on ARMA 3. If DayZ has in fact impeded ARMA 3 somehow, then it wouldn't have been from diverting devs over.
Vixente 10 Posted September 1, 2012 Can you guys stop the off-topic and keep this thread for what it is supposed to be?

kylania 568 Posted September 3, 2012 *Shamelessly bumps his own post to get it back on topic* No need to bump, no need to tell people to stay on topic, no need to not type anything. BIS will post here when they have something to say and you won't be able to miss it regardless of how many people post or don't post. Just chat amongst yourselves till next year when we find out more.

maddogx 13 Posted September 11, 2012 i've lost my hype for BI, they said we will get an alpha around E3, thats been, and so has gamescom.. :/ They told us before E3 (over three months ago) that the alpha will be pushed back until some time after gamescom due to the implementation of PhysX 3.x and some polishing. BelgarionNL 10 Posted September 13, 2012 well there should already be an alpha according to what was said by BI themselves... plus because of the lack of updates I don't mind people expressing their disappointments!
