Donny 10 Posted January 28, 2012 Hello everyone, today its time to show you something of my first ongoing map project. Valley of Banran It is an small 5x5km desert based terrain with a oasis on it. Around the oasis there are some settlements and a palm vegetation like it has to be on oasis areas. There are some other features like an industry complex with rails and a military trainstation also there is a small desert city too. In future there will be some other features like an old military trench system on one of the dunes and also an dirty airport for smaller planes. But this will take some time. Here are some pictures for you: http://i1266.photobucket.com/albums/jj523/donny134/offi07.jpg http://i1266.photobucket.com/albums/jj523/donny134/offi04.jpg http://i1266.photobucket.com/albums/jj523/donny134/offi03.jpg http://i1266.photobucket.com/albums/jj523/donny134/offi02.jpg http://i1266.photobucket.com/albums/jj523/donny134/Offi01.jpg Last but not least, much thanks to Bushlurker for his beginner tutorial, it helps alot to understand how everything works! Also there are going thank to Robster, Gnat and Smokedog which helped me with some problems I found during the creating of this map. Especially thanks to the Brigade2010 for some testing and some ideas they brought to me. Now, next future steps I will post here with screenshots, but I cant promise an early upcoming beta release, so just wait, the time will come. Donny 10 Posted January 30, 2012 (edited) Thanks for that feedback :) Well, about the trees I have used the African Foliage vegetation from Berghoff, they fits perfect to the area. Maybe I will post some new screenshots of the small military airport I am currently working on. I havent played Operation Flashpoint much so I never knew that I wake up some memories :) greetings Donny Edit: oh man, i got an problem at the moment. When I am driving against some fortifications like the fort_rampart it destroys itself and is going up to the air. But if I set the same object with the ingame Editor, it dont have the same features like my visitor set object :) here is an picture, my tank stands upon the ingame editor rampart the other ones in the back are the visitor placed which going wreck. http://i1142.photobucket.com/albums/n611/Wiz15/Baghlar/test115.jpg Maybe someone has an answer? bad benson 1733 Posted February 7, 2012 beautiful stuff man. i like it when people use existing stuff to create a new feel. maybe u could make the clutter a bit less takistanian. or maybe add more of the african foliage or even mikebart's nice dry bushes. i can really imagine some nice pvp on this map. like snipers fighting eachother acrros the lake:D
