Arma 2 : OA beta build 84868

Is anyone else still seeing some really bad animations. Soldiers seem to have a leg trailing while other in the group are fine. This seems to start when A unit turns. It seems really bad on unarmed soldiers.

any usable repro mission ?

I find the animations a bit disjointed at distance in SP....as though they skip some frames. Not a good look.

If you can run and reload why can't you (I should say AI also) die when shot?

What I mean is if you are running and you hit reload...the reload animation starts right away. When you die...the current animation plays out first. Throwing the grenade....switching weapon....putting away the binocs etc.

It's been like this for many, many years. Also not a good look!

Time to fix ya think?

Perhaps the animation on that is divided into two parts; upper and lower. Upper half reloads while the lower keeps running. Maybe the lower part is not able to be interrupted for some reason or it has to wait until the upper and lower are back in-sync or something like that. And it hasn't been that way for very long, since it was only (relatively) recently that we gained the ability to reload on the move.

Well....I guess the point is this. If you can interrupt that animation...or any animation at all...then why can't you interrupt other animations?

When you mention it I have seen some wierd/bad looking in SP as well when testing the latest batch of betas but I wasn't sure if it was just me or actually the animations since I often look at them at 500+ m distance in scope.

Well, the missiles are not actually "borked", as they work the way they are intented to, they are "just" quite unrealistic..

pity because missile travelling at speed have a very violent 'feel' that would not be amiss in the ultimate military simulation.

benouyt did you make sure to restart the mission?

Most likely it won't be possible to magically fix the broken savegame (if it is).

If so, you should attach the rpt, crash files, savegames and dump again in the ticket to let BI analyze. :)

I'm not sure if this is specifically a beta problem or just a game problem in general, but I was using this beta and attempting to play the PMC campaign for the first time. In the first mission, Inception, where you are supposed to go to the rendezvous point, I get there with the other guy, and we stand around for a long, long time (probably like 10-15 min) and nothing happens. No car comes, nothing updates, etc. There is a destroyed SUV and a dead guy with an AA-12 next to it, but nothing else ever happens. I assume this is a bug of some sort?

Last Mission in the Operation Arrowhead Campaign is broken with this beta after destroying the scuds, no messenger appears of commander "citzen" for the last mission. And the AI is moving very slow and together

This is NOT GOOD AT ALL! It could mean that there is a major problem with the latest beta that could adversely effect lots of A2 SP content (for all I know)? :eek:

I just replayed Inception with no problems. Never has testing been so much fun. The guy standing there with the AA-12 shouldn't be dead (you talk with him briefly before chopper comes). Perhaps you took too long? I don't know.

Are you sure you are using this latest beta version (84868)? Issues you describe were present couple of betas ago but should be fixed now.

Also in some cases might have to restart the mission instead of load from savegame.

I found a little bug while playing warfare benny with the last beta (only clientside)

When i try to unflip a vehicle it just jumps ...

Anyone else has this problem ?

There is no more any crash, therefore nothing to attach and analyze:

no crash

I will try the repro again and will ask for more information as needed.
