But in all honesty what are the chances of this happening, true BI isn't as huge as the big boys but they are nothing to sneeze at either, originally staffed in the double digits at best now in the triple with several other companies bought BY them, and headquarters in canada, united states, australia and more and are supposedly expanding.

There is also what is done on the side, aside from the titles we know there are many others some even casual so they rake in quite a bit and lest we forget the flagship VBS which brings in thousands.

And finally the Spanel brothers if they are still the top, and unless they change, aren't likely to sell their dream child off, remember they have been invested in this engine and ultimately game for more than 10 years, this would be like worrying for the world actually ending in 2012.

Firstly let me say I would be very happy for BI if they got bought out.

They have made great games for a long time on the PC platform and just as I am always pleased to see people who have earnt it, get their rewards...

If it's time for them to sell to EA and take on executive roles for a year on mega pay and then off to Tahiti for a life of cocktails... that counts as a win.

Secondly, a bit of run and gun is actually a good direction for the game series currently.

In my opinion the whole "simulation" aspect as it's USP has been hurting gameplay for some time now.

I like simulation but there is such a thing as sticking your head up your own arse.

The game could use a lot of simplification. It's a long way short of being as user friendly as it could be and has been moving away from that position rather than towards it.

I agree the menu system is complicated and a improved structure would be more desirable, but quite frankly I think steering the ArmA series in the 'run n gun' direction is a ridiculous idea and would ruin Bohemias reputation. They have.

That's why they're making Take On Helicopters, for serious helicopter simulator fans and Carrier Command as an action game, which unlike TKOH and Arma is set on a fictional world and with a more simplified (but not dumb run&gun) gameplay.

Not to mention the affiliation with the VBS studio.

BI is expanding by themselves and I believe they know what they're doing.

If they get bought by a "Greedy Company" it will certainly affect their plans in a very negative way.

I would like to see BI stand on their own feet with a budget able to fulfill their large creative ambitions. Its not that that BI never aimed high, they were constrained by the realities of a small developer.

Imagine the capabilities of Arma if BI had the budget they needed.

There are so many under-appreciated, even by Arma fans, technologies and artistic creations that just needed a bit more air to breathe and flourish.

Doesnt really matter. I will have arma3 and BIS will probably have shitloads of cash and can take a well deserved break after the last decades work. When the next "run&gun" bastard are released I just keep playing arma3 lifting my beer in salute towards CZ.
