CriminalMinds 10 Posted January 29, 2013 Its Thursday Thursday ... the info is gonna come on Thursday... FUN FUN FUN FUN before the weekend, weekend. My lizard brain says so anyway... I think we won't get any news before February 5, because last year pcgames.de released 4 new screenshots at this date. Why not this year?

samb 15 Posted January 29, 2013 Guys I've been "away" for a while. Any news regarding advanced helicopter physics in Arma 3? I remember it became unconfirmed as feature a while ago- anything changed? Thanks.

Smurf 12 Posted January 29, 2013 Its Thursday Thursday ... the info is gonna come on Thursday... FUN FUN FUN FUN before the weekend, weekend. My lizard brain says so anyway... Been with that in my head for the past three weeks. At least we saw some chatting from DayZ and the simple thought of having some of those systems integrated in (or derived from) A3 was enough for me. I wanna see some grenade action nao! ^Th0mas^ 10 Posted January 31, 2013 I believe we will get some info regarding ArmA III status in year 2013.My speculation is we can get some news before February 15. The game was supposed to be relelased last year. Offcourse we get some news in 2013. Remember that its a good thing that BIS are taking their time. Armed Assault got many poor reviews due to its bugs, even though the game is much better today.

Armed Assault got many poor reviews due to its bugs, even though the game is much better today. Arma 2 did get poor reviews as well, especially in germany, and especially because of poor AI. Well the AI has come a long way and has become quite good (and still it can be made better by mods) but the driving AI still sucks.

I'm not complaining about release date being pushed back - i'm happy with that fact because it shows devs want to bring us polished game without annoying bugs. Well the AI has come a long way and has become quite good (and still it can be made better by mods) but the driving AI still sucks. As importantly, the word-of-mouth formed by reviews (don't act like that doesn't make an impression on sales) is based on your release build or on a zero-day patch... not on "the state of the game years later", and I'm pretty sure that BI looks at that as both "lost potential sales" (no matter how much the hardcores may have loved the release build for being the-only-OFP-like-on-the-market) and a lesson for future development.Turns out you can also look at Medal of Honor: Warfighter as an instructive lesson that maybe BI has looked at -- even though people admitted that "day one patches" weren't exactly unheard of, it was the sheer changelog and thus the "what's wrong if you don't patch" that helped hurt the hype for Warfighter when the news hit the gaming blogs. The driving AI is one of the most important things that needs to be fixed. Its a simulator after all. And yeah, the AI is good now, but the damage was already done when they released the game in bad condition.

And yeah, the AI is good now, but the damage was already done when they released the game in bad condition. The AI is good, but it could still do perfecting. Let's be honest, if you're not with any other humans you're usually going to be paired with AI, so they spend a good amount of time being round you. Still, hopefully the game engine's improvements will help for ArmA 3.

We can't base on trailers as sources but if in this AI is driving then that looks promising 0:
chortles 263 Posted February 1, 2013 And yeah, the AI is good now, but the damage was already done when they released the game in bad condition.Pretty much explains the importance of "delay for polish reasons" -- and a LOT of casuals who heard the news of both Arma 3 and DayZ standalone's delays responded positively in a "take as long as you need!" fashion. chrisb 196 Posted February 1, 2013 They can at least be assured of a certain amount of sales, that’s to all the arma communities everywhere, most will buy A3 if their machines will run it, many will, or have, bought machines in readiness for the game. Its iconic to those that play it, its down to BIS to advertise it well, to make it more mainstream, a word, some people may not like, but with the surprise success of DayZ, therefore the sudden increase in sales of A2 to players that would probably never have picked up A2, BIS must be thinking about those sales and the opportunity to make A3 more appealing to the mainstream player. I, like many, will not want it to go too far in that direction, but it would only really be the campaign that makes it mainstream, after that its down to those players that enjoyed the campaign, to join in the 'fan-dom'. I think BIS know they have to make sure it plays right, before releasing it. Its the Editor and general improvements to the game I'm waiting for, the campaign I won't be playing anyway. They can take as long as they like, A2 has many more years left in it, so will be played whilst A3 is out by many, as Arma is now, and to a certain extent OFP..
