Introducing Take On Helicopters by Bohemia Interactive

Recommended Posts

Regarding sling load and so the possibility to have a water bucket, even if we have to make it ourselves knowing sqf and modeling should be possible, if I am not misleading myself.

In regard of firefighting and choppers, but not only, 'the wind' that is my question.

In Arma the wind was not running from the same direction at the same time depending which host you were...

will it be the same in TKOH ? In multiplayer will we all have the clouds at the same place and the wind exactly the same speed and direction, or again locally simulated and not precise, we all had the experience of a nice sun on one PC when it start raining on the friend one same time same place; Synchronized weather, how will it be done in TKOH ?

If the game does not already do it, and we script a forest fire, will we have to trick things around or will we be able to rely on real time synchronized wind...

Todays E3 Beauty. I want visit E3 too. :satisfied:

From Facebook:

E3 Expo!

Helicopters is gearing up for presenting at this year's E3!

We've got a selection of showcases that demonstrate our new tech and gameplay; Czech out our link to see the 'overview' screenshot of each one...

If you've got the chance to be there, be sure to head over and say hello to our playable build!

Original Image. (sorry, I have to resize it)

Did I see flir on last picture? Really nice clouds, is it volumetric?

Today we should stop nitpicking details, devs need rest before important trip. ;)

Nice metal shader and weather... Do I see a slight light shaft/godray in the first pic ?

I won't comment too much on the ground, as I imagine there will be more buildings added to the satmap. The trees are also very flashy...

Love The Lighting (looks much more life like than the 'realistic shaders' you see touted so much these days)

Yay more FLIR, wait FLIR in a civilian flight sim, thats a first, keep innovating BI.

Looks like the helicopter cockpit textures got a bit of a facelift too, sure hope there will be lots of press from or after E3.

I hope they stick to the same vibrant color pallette for the scenery if they remake it, since there is no war going on there is no excuse for atmospheric depressing shaders x.x

Is that a reflection I see in the cloudy weather pic?

The one with the clouds :V...though seriously, the one with the grey clouds, looks like it's going to storm soon.

On another note...I thought this was meant to be a mostly fly from distance and yet in the sunset photo you can see varied rolling hills and tree's like in Arma2 :D

New pre-E3 teasing. Nice. :thumb:

From Facebook:

Terrains!

With a combined area almost the size of the state of New Jersey, we've got a lot of ground to cover at the E3 Expo!

Click through our link to see the overview images for each terrain: Seattle; South Asia, and our Oil Rig environments!

Head over and visit the Take On at the Bohemia Interactive stand to get a flavour of them!

Original Image.

Where is spire?? Is it vandalize, stolen or is it offical job? I bet theft, dark side of BI is shown. We will work for villains. „Pecunia non olet“. :p

When will we see terrain detail, streets, roads?? I'm curious.

added:

BTW here is link to yesterday's picture, also nice, but nothing what we haven't seen before ;).

The clouds aren't bad looking, but still not quite on the money. The edges are too frizzy all over. They also need some harder edges, like on this pic to be perfect:

Is it real photo or from game?

Here are screenshots 1. 2. from FSX REX addon. They have some quality clouds, but I quess theese clouds + arma world + trees will kill any sli/crossfire grafic cards. BI must reserve some improvement for Arma 3 ;).

Keep in mind, not all clouds look quite like that. There are alot of factors that play into a cloud's shape and consistency.

I know, we know about 3 maps so far

South East Asia

Seattle

Oil Rig

EDIT: To a BIS dev, what quality are the sat maps? Highly detailed, google earth lvl or not very detailed?

And can you walk around outside the home base, through the streets? (I know they wont be very detailed, its a flight sim, not FPS)

RiE post from E3-Arma3 thread and photo from BI's E3 base.

e3bis.jpg

I think I speak for everyone at both BIS and the wider community when I say people are most looking forward to Take On Helicopters, AKA "project awesome". :yay:

I mean, c'mon guys, A3 can't even promise that fires will be extinguished in the rain, which is basically game breaking, right? :p

Best,

RiE

This photo should be here. I knew that BI primarily attend E3 becouse of TKOH ;), that is for sure.

Arma 3 is too far away. :p
