mcnools 62 Posted January 22, 2011 I've always been fond of battleships of this era, if you made the Bismarck I'd be very happy. But japanase and US navy is enough really. Really looking forward to this!

Banderas 0 Posted January 22, 2011 Hi Firewill! I think as long as you bring such content into the game, no-one will bother about how good your English is :) What I'm mostly looking forward for are the modernized Iowa-class ships, I think it's something that many wanted to have but just didn't tell about that much. Also looking forward for this project.

Pvt.Reaper 8 Posted January 22, 2011 (edited) Cannot wait to bombard the shores of Duala, Lingor, Chernarus, Nicosia, Sahrani, and ETC with the Five-Inch Guns of the USS Missouri.(Be sure to include the Missouri, It's one of the most famous ships in the Iowa Class series) Surely with that kind of firepower, a ARMA II player could easily level cities like Corazol and Elektrozavodsk. Battleships in ARMA has been one of my dreams since I first got ARMA I. Somebody is going have to make Anti-Ship missiles now...You may also want to make some Resupply ships. bigstone 48 Posted February 1, 2011 OK so now your going to make USN, IJN, RN, and GN?
Enigma85 2 Posted February 1, 2011 OK so now your going to make USN, IJN, RN, and GN? Yes, That is the plan. As he has shown in the plan he has written out. I Don't really know a map with such a massive area for these ships though. Or do I? ;)
[aps]gnat 28 Posted February 2, 2011 Yes,I Don't really know a map with such a massive area for these ships though. Click my signature and you'll see "Waves", an ArmA2 "mostly water" terrain.
Enigma85 2 Posted February 2, 2011 Gnat;1847583']Click my signature and you'll see "Waves"' date=' an ArmA2 "mostly water" terrain.[/quote']haha Thanks, But it was most a subtle hint towards where the ships might be heading :P
[aps]gnat 28 Posted February 3, 2011 Well then you should have posted a pic ;) BTW ship builders of the large type, generally you can have a full Hull in the Resolution LODs, but in the Geometry LOD your hull should be flat at the bottom, just a little below the expected water-line. Trick/Tip: To simulate damage, select/name/animate the bottom points of that Geometry lod along one side. Rotate them in animate with source as DAMAGE. Your ship will now start to list over a bit as it takes hits.
kage74 10 Posted February 3, 2011 I not tried Waves yet, does it have any really deep water? A lot of the user-made islands I've played the addon maker focused a lot of attention on the land terrain, but once you're in the ocean it's only a few meters deep and very flat on the bottom. I figure most people never bother to look below the surface of the ocean for any terrain details. But having some deep trenches and deep underwater areas would be good for all those wonderful submarines and U-boats to lurk around in.
