Tnx for the great feedback, outdoor combat is just awesome :) We just finished a 2.5h coop mission on TB and a real blast! A combat patrol from Garuntha to the town of Jool Hul. Some very exciting long ranged firefights from hilltop to hilltop and severall times we all of the sudden had an enemy patrol right on top of us. Flanking around hilltops, really diggin it (if i can say that of my own map lol).

Anyway, im trying at the moment how the map is without any horizon texture as the fog and objects popping up might be better without it. If not, i will aply Takistan horizon.

It's no coincidence it reminds you of Restrepo: the mission and the Outpost in part 5/6 and 6/6 were inspired by it :-)

Will the next update provide support for ambient animals aswell? It would be nice to see some randomly-spawned herds of goats around the village-areas. :)

For the next update i'm woking on Alice support to spawn civilians. I have seen goats and cows so far without any specific work on it... Otherwise i might add it in a future update.

Ah, so ambient animals does work? I honestly haven't tried it. Anyway, placing goats etc. manually isn't much of a problem :) Looking forward to the next update!

Just "baked" a new version to test the Alice civ module... the towns are now "living" :)

Anyway, i guess u need to add / drop the right module for the animals on the map to get it working of course.

I'm also thinking about redoing the sat map as i'm not satisfied with it, distant does not always match what is seen close by, hope to be able to fix that whikst not losing the nice color feel of the map that is mentioned sometimes.

Sounds nice! I have noticed that the distance doesn't always match what's seen close by, but I hope you can keep the same colouring mostly, I like the colours alot. :)

We copied our toolset over, made a few changes in some positions and had Enemy AI spawn automagically all over the map. Its perfect and had some nice fights just the way the map is.

Hey,

I've just re-downloaded this as you've updated it, I must say I absolutely love it! I only have one problem as I run OA-Stand alone, the road textures don't show and it gives me an error saying file not found...

I'm not sure if it's been posted before, but I really hope that you could fix it! :D

I have been messing around with roads prior to this release. Still need to learn alot there... However, as far as i know at the moment, i can only add Arma 2 roads making this map a Combined Ops map only (it now is only dependant on OA). Still not completely sure what to with this...

Tnx for the report, unfortunally i cannot "fix" it... The roads are from Arma2 as OA roads arent yet available to me/us mapmakers. Only way is to get Arma2...

I can confirm that ambient goats/cows are present. ALICE support would be great though!

Will the next version use the OA sky texture with the snowy mountains? Gotta say, I'm really loving this map, good work.

I dont know why I took so long downloading this map, its excellent.

Perfect for C130 script action / DAC / and general flying and hunting.

Great work, BTW that 6th Sense mission video was also a great watch.

Good to hear you guys are liking the map :) What kind of toolset that spawns ai etc are you using?

I've found the time to check out two more villages today...

Circle: bush sticking out of the floor

Square: rock sticking out of the floor

Cross: ground/building sticking out

Tnx again for you reports.

I've just uploaded my latest version to the Six updater, it will soon be available.

Version 1.5

* Roads are a bit smoothed

* Support Alice module, Takistan civilians can now be auto spawned

* Tweaked sat & mask map, still some minor flaws here and there though

* Added Takistan sky textures, horizon is removed (somehow takistan horizon will not work)

* Cleaned up towns, most building should be clear of objects and ground now

* Possibly more but i forgot it :)

Sounds nice! Looking forward to seeing it on ArmAHolic. :) Shame the Takistan horizon won't work though. Would it work to use the Takistan sky but the Chernarus horizon?

Just spent around 40 minutes hunting Takiban mortar-squads on the peaks of the Kambanush-mountain with my Tier One-team, this terrain is really scary, got two squadmates taken out by enemies hiding behinds rocks and bushes right next to us. Excellent!

Nice work on the map Chill, it's really coming along.

Found a bug with version 6 in MP:

Clientside version: Version 6 via SIX updater

Server version: Version 6 via SIX updater

I've doubled checked, reinstalled and tested several different missions with the same issue. Objects placed in the mission editor, aside from playable units, appear 5 feet in the air. Only happens in MP not in the editor.

Did you try to open and re-save the mission while running the latest version, to make sure all editor positions are updated in case terrain was changed?
