Takko 10 Posted July 25, 2010 (edited) Hello, We expected days. That was our only mistake. Days became weeks, weeks became months, months became 365 days, respective for 1 year. This is a model of a Volkwagen Golf 1 and was made in cooperation with 5 people. 5 people with different skills, to melt this model to perfection. Worth a try! You can see a list of all people who constributed here: KalilSWT_Janowich Alexand Bigrick ClassicCarLover Download http://www.mediafire.com/?d1n0d7tqb4t5gxg You can find it under: Blufor->Other->Golf 1 Edited July 26, 2010 by Takko
granQ 293 Posted July 25, 2010 no offence Takko, but a year of work from 5 people and all you can post is one light and a totaly black image? If you want people to download it you probably need to present it a bit better.
miles teg 1 Posted July 25, 2010 Yeah I agree with GranQ. No disrespect, but if it took 5 guys one year to make one vehicle addon, you should really take better pictures of it to show off all the time and effort it took to make it.
Takko 10 Posted July 26, 2010 Right! Attached the newer pictures! t took 5 guys one year to make one vehicle addon, you should really take better pictures of it to show off all the time and effort it took to make it. Let me explain you our long development circle and why it was really one 1 year for us to bring out this vehicle addon. We had this idea in mind in January 2009. It took us 3 months, up to April 2009 to decide, wether we use the Volkwagen Golf Mk1 or Volkswagen Golf Mk2 model, since we had to think about which of the above would fit our needs most. We went for the Mk1 and then we started to model. In order to not hurt our collaboration we even split the modeling process up in 3 parts: I made the taillights, rar the .p3d file up and send it to Kalil, who would model the front lights, rars the file up and sends it to ClassicCarLover, who looked at the lights in order to assure that we kept a lot of attention to the detail. After our model was done in around Summer 2009, we had to texture it. We went for a texture, which would respresent the VW Mk1 most, while being nice at the same time. Thats why we went for a rusty one. Rusty, because the car is really old ('70s) and still with a clean finish to show that our model is still shining. So its really symbolic, which is also a feature of the texture. After that was done we went for the sound: SWT_Janowich selected the sound that would fit most, but good things take time. We had a 48 hour progress to decide, wether we would sample the sound in 44khz or 48 khz. We went for neither of the above. This job also became finished, so now we had to create the config. In order to integrate all people into the development process and leave nobody discriminatingly out, we splitted the parts like one made the CFG_vehicles and so on. Now it was the end of the summer, August 2009. Then our main man lost the file on his computer. One week ago we found it again, and that makes it 1 year of development: April 2009->July 2010. After 1 week of extensive bug testing we felt that it was ready to be released and so here it is.

mondkalb 1087 Posted July 26, 2010 Indeed... I was immediately thinking of the ASS - ArmA Satire Studios. No offense at all: Are you serious?
gossamersolid 155 Posted July 26, 2010 Yeah no offense or anything, but I hope this didn't take 1 year and 5 different people. Seeing SWT_Janowich in the credits makes me yell "troll" right away.
Darkhorse 1-6 16 Posted July 26, 2010 I love the picture of the guys head coming through the roof, and the steering wheel floating mid windshield, and i find it even more humorous that there appears to be no interior texture. I can sum this up in a single "image".
L3TUC3 32 Posted July 26, 2010 Love it, awesome stuff. Can you make one with cases of beer sticking out of the trunk?
Tankbuster 1746 Posted July 26, 2010 Gosh. I know that low poly models are good for performance. This must make a miiiillion FPS.
[frl]myke 14 Posted July 26, 2010 Gosh. I know that low poly models are good for performance. This must make a miiiillion FPS. Well, you surely noticed that often players tend to complain that "back in good ol' OFP things were so much better". So i guess this is the start of a retro movement...back to the roots, visual quality doesn't determine gaming fun at all and so on. I see, this addon prefectly fits with a certain recently released MBT.
PuFu 4600 Posted July 26, 2010 best addon out there for ppl calling OFP addons better and plentier. cheers takko, will surely give this a run..
Tankbuster 1746 Posted July 26, 2010 Is there a version with a noisy stereo, lowered suspension and yoof crew wearing baseball cap on sideway?
[frl]myke 14 Posted July 26, 2010 @Takko my apologies, it wasn't meant disrespectful. Regarding the quality of your other releases, i take this one as a joke, as we already know you're very well capable of better than that. Kepp up your modding work, here and there a little laugh is always good. ;)
Fox '09 14 Posted July 26, 2010 yall are bullies , who cares about quality, more stuff to crash the better how about thermal maps?!?!

slatts 1978 Posted July 26, 2010 if this looks as bad as it does then why do all your others look better?...... oooooh wait.....is it cause janowich is involved with you and hes an addon thief?
Daniel 0 Posted July 26, 2010 Every other post in this thread made me facepalm.
miles teg 1 Posted July 26, 2010 I think this addon has some serious faults in it. For one, it needs cannons mounted on the side. Can you make a TOW launcher version? A LEGO version would be superb also! That would be totaly WIN! Ahhhh...is it just me or does anyone else miss LEGO WARS!!!! ????
kuIoodporny 45 Posted July 26, 2010 Can we get more reskins? With Schwarzpunkt and other well known car radios?
