NeMeSiS 11 Posted February 25, 2013 Probably someone started a brute force or dictionary attack ^^ If someone is trying to brute force it we will probably still be here waiting for it to finish while ArmA3 is already released. :p
tonygrunt 10 Posted February 25, 2013 Embassy Freight the business site where possibly the ARG was hosted, is also down. I hope it's not the fault of our community.
Coffeecat 10 Posted February 25, 2013 (edited) BIS cry´s out for being attacked with this games, wouldnt surprise me if some people cant stand the pressure^^i like it cause we know alpha has to come soon! Edited February 25, 2013 by Coffeecat
zoog 18 Posted February 25, 2013 Embassy Freight the business site where possibly the ARG was hosted, is also down. I hope it's not the fault of our community. To confirm, that is a valid business site build by JH as far as I know, I've visited it before. If that one got hit by actions trying solving the ARG that would be bad indeed. Hopefully this is not the case.

An army of engineers are being flown in as we speak. Dear Jerry, the power supply was causing the problem and is now fixed. Your server is back online and you can login into the system. Is Jerry Hopper an actual, living person or is it an alias someone has taken for various BIS events? I assumed it was a fake ID for a PR-character. Also, the embassy freight website is up again. The rv4a4.org site remains offline. EDIT: Rv4a3.org is back up. Let's not crash it this time. Edited February 25, 2013 by Nixxen

I can assure you that Mr. Hopper (Jerry, not Dennis) is a long time member of this community. He's definately no "fake character" for this ARG.
derdoe 10 Posted February 25, 2013 rv4a3.org seems to be a hint for Real Virtuality 4 and Arma 3?
maddogx 13 Posted February 25, 2013 (edited) rv4a3.org seems to be a hint for Real Virtuality 4 and Arma 3? Yup, that much is clear, aswell as m26 seemingly being a hint at "Station Mike 26" on Stratis. The only thing that's unknown (at least to me) is the "node-42" part. Could be a simple reference to "the answer to the universe and everything", but it might also have some deeper meaning. elpresidente 1 Posted February 25, 2013 (edited) This might be from interest, placebo posted this over at the Developement blog & reveals thread: [...]There is news on the alpha coming out a little later so stay tuned. Might be related to the ARG... Edit: The game server who gave us the link to http://m26.node-42.rv4a3.org/ is gone Edited February 25, 2013 by ElPresidente
Smurf 12 Posted February 25, 2013 The ARG will culminate into an Alpha reference. Infos will be released anyway, the ARG is just to maintain people busy instead of asking everyday for news.
derdoe 10 Posted February 25, 2013 Earlier mentioned plane crash was 6-18-1992. Anyone thinks this is relevant?
darkfenix100 0 Posted February 25, 2013 Next time the server comes online is it worth seeing if we can somehow see who is stationed at the base (the players name). When jerry hopper first posted that he had seen a server he posted another picture,he was using a program to try get the names of players but the NAT was too strict
Maio 293 Posted February 25, 2013 I we are to take the war games reference seriously: http://mike.passwall.com/uselesstrivia/wargames.html I've already tried RONC and TTLA with no luck. Maybe someone with more time can have a go at it.
4 IN 1 0 Posted February 25, 2013 Things we learn so far: 1. BI start another ARG 2. Jerry Hopper are somehow involved 3. Jerry is in fact a shipping tycoon(wait what?)
Migebuff 0 Posted February 25, 2013 Here is how to get past the login! Found it in the Arma subreddit.http://www.reddit.com/r/arma/comments/1952ok/possible_arma_3_arg_more_in_comments/c8l07rd Release the hounds! It also works with "mysql-rpc-demo.php", but I dont know what to do there: Maybe the username/passwords are stored in the "test"-table.
VolvoJocke1337 17 Posted February 25, 2013 I don't know if this helps or has been mentioned earlier but I tried to login with my BI account and the terminal (at m26.node-42.rv4a3.org) seems to recognize email adresses, and automatically makes them clickable and blue, like links on wikipedia  But I didn't get in though :(
kostor 10 Posted February 25, 2013 The FTP server is up again... nothing changed. (EDIT: If anyone knows what we should do there... maybe communicate with the one behind this ;) ? )
