Spawn helicopter wreck or prevent wreck from getting deleted

Hey Arma community, I'm currently working on a script which creates a crashside when the player calls it. However,I've got stuck at some point. Is there a way to spawn a helicopter wreck directly with ""createVehicle _pos, or is the only way to get a helicopter wreck, to spawn a working one and destroy it afterwards with setDamage 1;? If that's so, then I need a way to prevent the game to delete that wreck, because otherwise the crashside will still be there when the player arrive, however, without wreck. Just out of curiosity, how much FPS do you get? Because, back when I played the mission, the FPS weren't that high, but it was still easiely playable.

The viewdistance eats alot of CPU horsepower, but if you've already tried to decrease it, with not effect, I guess it's the well known engine limitation then.

I assume you've got everything maxed out. But what about Viewdistance settings and Supersampling? Nonetheless, as far as I remember, this mission runs quite bad anyway.

Is it just me, or did they remove the Virtual Entity "Headless Client" from the editor? -
And that's how it works.. I do not experience any lag at all. Unfortunately I have no idea what could cause that lag for.

I had a similar problem, on one of my Chernarus MP maps the helicopters disappeared. Unfurtunately I haven't been able to reproduce it yet, so I cannot tell you if they clipped through the ground, or disappeared because of something else.

It has both to do with sounds, maybe a soundmod? Are you still using Speed of sound? Just a guess..

I think we are talking about two different things here. The standart should be, that all vehicles which weight is < 11 or 12 tons should be liftable. In addition there should be a module or script command to increase that weight limit.

I actually wanted to say that the RPM go down, to the point where you fall of the sky. So yep, you shouldn't go anyway with a too heavy load.

Great to hear that, thanks I would love to see a proper guide about dialogue creating. The BI wiki is a whole mess when you want to create advanced dialogues.

Very well done scripting guide for beginners. This should be sticky or BI should add it to one of their REPs. However, I've got a little complain, It would have been nice, if you had added a table of contents.

I totally agree, didn't think about that at all. Would be really great if the RPM would go down when you try to lift a to heavy vehicle.

Just want to post my experience. I increased my FPS by overlocking the BOOST CLOCK of my 3570k to 4Ghz and in addition I overclocked my RAM from 1600 to 2133( without overvolting). This increased my Max fps by about 10 only, however my fps are over 30fps constantly. Nontheless, the best way to increase you FPS and to enhance you gaming experience is to stay away from non optimised missions. I built some MP missions myself for my community, and we are getting some very good FPS there, even though we have a lot of firefights going on. Kind Regards R3vo

I would like to ask if it would be possible to add the Kamaz Transport and Kamaz Transport (Covered) to the slingloadable vehicle list. I'm suggesting this, because the Huran and Taru can lift an Oshkosh (Hunter), which weights, according to wikipedia about 11tons http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oshkosh_M-ATV ( see right (Masse:11.34 t)). The Kamaz truck's curb weight however, is only 10.2t according to http://www.kamazexport.com/trucks/cargo-body-trucks/16. In addition, this would give the Kamaz truck an advantage over the heavier and larger CSAT and NATO trucks. Please tell me what you guys think.

I guess this won't be changed, at least not in the near future. I would also like to see a menu overhaul, so the empty>air menu won't be cluttered with tons of different variants of the same vehicle(helicopter). BTW: I would like to ask if this issue http://feedback.arma3.com/view.php?id=20695 could be fixed in the near future, as it makes the marid unusable in my opinion.

Hey guys, I'm currently experience game crashed after respawn, when I enter the Virtual Arsenal. In addition, sometimes the gear won't be reloaded correctly after respawn. Unfortunately there's nothing in the RPT file, which would give me a hint about the problem. So, I am wondering, if anyone else is experiencing problems when it comes to respawn and gear saving. -
I'm currently using the dev Branch and I don't get any error messages. I would assume you are using a mod which is causing those errors. However, if that's not the case, I would suggest to verify your game data via Steam. Kind Regards R3vo Edit: Another thing that came to my mind is: It's possible what you were loading a mission, which is already using the DLC helicopters. This error would occure if you are on stable were those helicopters are not available yet. This is just a guess.
