    Dagger Weapons for Arma 3 (and ACE 3)

    Is it possible to use the weapons without ACE? Will the Ballistics part of the mod affect the rest of the game without ACE? Will they themselves be accurate without ACE? Thanks!

I have been having an error ever since workshop modding came out where I cannot access any of my workshop mods at all, whether through the launcher or by moving them into the directory so I can control them manually. Steam frequently updates and downloads workshop content as necessary, but there is no way for me to use it and it is incredibly frustrating. For more info, I had my Arma directory located on my C: Drive but got a new HD and decided to port it to my E: as mod content was taking up so much space. I have re-installed numerous times, to no avail. Please let me know if I can fix this, or there is a steam issue.
  4. I got reshade to work when I launch Arma directly (Steamapps/common/Arma 3/arma3battleeye) but the launcher refuses to launch. Launcher as in the Arma 3 mod launcher, it will not even load. I get a steam preparing to launch Arma 3 and nothing happens. Any solutions to this? EDIT: It will work if I go to the Arma directory and launch it from there, however the Steam shortcut does not work. EDIT 2: Game crashes whenever I load a mission while using the mod launcher. I don't know if this is mods or the launcher itself?

  9. Hate to pop out of nowhere but is there any chance of the De-Polarized helmets being fixed to show faces any time soon? I think they looked a lot more clear in this version of release, but I think that would just be a REALLY bad ass feature to have soon. That, and they're already looking great, just showing the VR faces.

  11. As was stated multiple times before: Let the Devs do as they do. Stop giving people more reasons to squeal "PUT THIS IN!!!" "DO THAT!!!" and let them decide. This mod is an Alpha. Stop being so critical of it. Just to say, the Pelican turn time feels perfect. If you've seen the way those things fly in the games and if you are a Pilot in Arma (IF YOU CAN FLY AND LAND WITHOUT AUTO PILOT), then you know where I am coming from. The response feels perfect. All in all, stop making these huge posts like its an EA forum (get the hint); this mod is epic and this forum is for WiP, not for personal demands. I apologize for b*tching, but there have just been too many people fighting for their own personal preferences to be added, even arguing with the Devs, and it annoys me.

  14. Hate to pop your bubble, but this mod will not be releasing Spartans or Aliens or anything unhuman or superhuman, as it would be very difficult to script or it would be overpowered af. The Devs have spoken a long time ago about this.

  16. Actually, a good example would be the Pelican from Halo: CE the ORIGINAL. As I said, Reach was designed AFTER the other games, and therefore has numerous graphical improvements and better models simply for visual appeal.
  17. NO way. No. Effing. Way. Like a day. Max. The POA made a random slipspace jump as per the Cole Protocol, and Thel Vadum'ee (aka The Arbiter) followed with his fleet immediately. Upon exiting slipspace, Halo was discovered, and so Halo: CE begins.......

I think that was in another Spartan's POV and then it switched to John watching out of the port on the Autumn, listening to everyone over the comms and then watching as the station is destroyed. BTW does anyone know whats up with the italic today? It keeps scripting the end at the end of the post :/

You also have to remember that Reach was really designed backwards: being a newer game and having been released much later than Halo 3, they had newer graphics systems and such and decided to take advantage of that and improve everything, even though it was in an earlier frame of time. Also, there isn't tat much of a difference between the Halo Reach ODSTs and the Halo 3 ODSTs. Also, I'm pretty sure the devs use their own ODST armor; look at the shin guards. In the games, they don't go over the feet. Personally I like the dev's design where the shin guard extends to the ankle. It's just little things that don't make much of a difference. Nothing to get too worked up about. (When I say this, I mean it doesn't make much of a difference as to complain about.) Also, don't really use Halo: Reach as a basis for that time frame. Again, Bungie worked backwards and improved things in a game that was set in an earlier time frame. Also, alot of Reach isn't really canon; scratch that, it just doesn't add up with alot of things in the Halo universe. Example; The Pillar of Autumn was never actually stationed on Reach; it got the distress call and showed up when the sh*t went down and sent in every Spartan but the Master Chief for an EVA mission. After the mission was declared a failure and contact was lost with that Spartan team after the station they were on was destroyed, the Pillar of Autumn, in cooperation with the Cole Protocol, made a random slip-space jump in order to escape Reach without leading the Covenant to Earth, and evidently, it stumbled upon Halo. Okay Halo history lesson is now over. Lesson: Reach is a good game and it's fun, but do not use it as a reliable canon resource.

  22. I'm currently in the 9th MEU :D They have an ODST Division, but it's rather small, to keep the ratio of Marines to ODSTs realistic. It's pretty neat. You should join.
  23. Alright. I apologize, I've just had it with the incompetent gun people all over ( ), and all the CODfags around here who want it to take 10+ head shots to kill someone. Also, most body armors have composites in them. AR500 does as well, but it has a metal plate in front of it. Nonetheless, it will not take a full 30-round magazine at point blank no problem.Also, remember: while armor has improved, so have the guns.   24. #1. Yes, This is based off of the books, not the games. The games are balanced for the sake of being a GAME; Arma is a military Simulator. #2. The size at distance depends on your field of view, and there are also scopes. In real life, that wouldn't be a problem. Also, Arma is not Halo. This brings Halo concepts to Arma, for the sake of giving the players options, and making Halo in a simulator's perspective instead of a COD perspective. #3. What the hell are you talking about!?!? There is no type of Body Armor that can withstand a full mag of 7.62 at POINT BLANK. First, define a mag. It it's a ONE SHOT mag, then MAYBE. But otherwise, Hell no!!! You're talking about multiple impacts at near Mach 1 speeds, and at point blank. Body armor that can Withstand 7.62 FMJ rounds are made of Ceramic composites anyways, which shatter after only a few hits. There is no way. And also, that armor is very bulky and cannot be applied everywhere on your body. Why do you think we lost soldiers in Iraq? I'm sorry for b*tching, but for crying out loud, I live in the state with the worst gun laws ever and I hear some pretty ridiculous sh*t, and it's just annoying now. Arma is classified as a simulator. This mod is for Arma, not Halo. It is meant to bring the Halo world to realistic terms, and give people the playability they've dreamed of, such as flying people in as a pelican pilot, being an ODST and dropping from orbit, and actually being the army that fights instead of watching them get raped in the environmental background. This mod is amazing, and nothing but. It was never intended to be a recreation of the Halo games as I have said. The map thing? again. This is Arma. Get real guys. This isn't Halo, this brings the Halo universe to the playability of Arma in it's game engine. Love it or hate it. Choose one. I, for one, love it.
  25. All right, All right. What I'm seeing here, is alot of b*tching. The devs already did their homework and discussed their topic on the neural implants. It's THEIR mod, let them d what they want. We (including myself) should all stop complaining and start saying THANKS for the awesomeness they have provided us. Also, about the damage values, are you kidding? I get the one shot to the leg thing, but BEING USELESS AT 100 METERS? HAVE YOU PLAYED ARMA? It already takes 4-7 body shots from a BR to kill an Innie or CSAT at that range. And one of the reason I loved this mod is because the damage values made it more balanced, as compared to the normal Arma, where the AI is OP AF. Thank you devs, thank you for the great gift of TEI. Keep up the good work.
