The problem with USM is that the uniform and vest models are all custom-fitted to each other so we can't use the vanilla gear on USM uniforms and USM gear on vanilla uniforms without some very obvious clipping issues.

Hey simcardo, I recently got into this mod again because I'm part of a new group that's looking into adopting it. I was wondering if you had any plans to make any more content for this mod? If you are, Ranger Body Armor would be a welcome addition. Even though it was technically obsoletely by the 2000s, a lot of them were still issued to units like the 173rd Airborne Brigade for the first few years of Iraq because of a shortage of Interceptor vests. They've even seen a fairly extensive post-US service life with the Iraqi Security Forces. It doesn't have to be anything too fancy, maybe just a basic, rifleman, autorifleman/machinegunner, and grenadier variant. Anyway, cheers and hope you're having a good 2020!

DHI Battle Dress Uniforms

I think I have a solution. Push an update to both mods that adds the prefix "USM" or "DHI" to all items' filenames.- 333 replies

DHI Battle Dress Uniforms
extracrispi replied to Delta Hawk's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
I'm pretty sure that happens with all of USM's vests because the old uniform models are substantially different (I mean, Delta in theory could fix that by converting USM uniforms to DHI models and redoing the vests but... *drumroll* that would require actually updating it 😄) On a related note, Delta. Have you ever heard of Pauli exclusion principle? Because some of your gear appears to be defying quantum mechanics.- 333 replies

Nein. What? You don't like our concrete jungles ridden with Sodomy and Typhus? Also, how could you say that when Point Reyes exists? Just Olive Drab or will it come in other flavors too? Also, if you want something a little more modern for winter gear, you could always make PCUs (which entered service in the BDU's twilight years).- 333 replies

Yeah, but would you update USM (so those communities that already have the USM but won't get DHI get to play with it) so those groups that already have the mod can use it or just add it on to DHI? Also, got you covered.- 333 replies

Also can we get an actual full black men's suit and a combat uniform model with boots that are actually properly bloused instead of rolled down? You can't have Men in Black with just business casual.

Big brain idea: Remake all of the USM body armor + some others (SWAT/Delta Force vests, Interceptor, etc.) to fit DHI uniforms and then declare it the replacement for USM altogether- 333 replies

Arma 3 Creator DLC: Global Mobilization - Cold War Germany
extracrispi replied to mondkalb's topic in ARMA 3 - CREATOR DLC
So let me get this straight... Bohemia Interactive authorized and official DLC of Cold War Germany WITHOUT bothering to include Cold War United States or the USSR even though both of those countries were by far, the most important political and military players of the era and had troops stationed all over Germany... -

Any plans for PASGT vests? I'd say that it would be great if the new DHI uniforms were used to replace USM equipment because it's more user-friendly with other mods, although I understand that would require completely redoing the vests. Maybe start with a basic rifleman's PASGT/LBE and work your way from there? Also, here's a pic of Wikus from District 9 wearing an ill-fitting PASGT, because I was watching it when I saw this. mfw no District 9 mod- 333 replies

DHI Battle Dress Uniforms
extracrispi replied to Delta Hawk's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Thank you. During the first BRIGHT STAR exercise in 1980 (probably the first major deployment of US troops to the Middle East since Operation Blue Bat in 1958) US Army personnel mostly wore ERDL and RDF fatigues with OG-107 patrol caps. Air Force personnel almost exclusively wore regular OG-107 uniforms. Given that the Iran Hostage Crisis and Russian invasion of Afghanistan had only occurred the year before, it's understandable that American military planners had not foreseen the need for a desert uniform up to that point. BRIGHT STAR '82 saw the first significant fielding of the Desert Battle Dress Uniform (which had been in development as early as the Six Day War of 1967 but was repeatedly shelved because Vietnam took precedence), although ERDL and OG was still in common use. IIRC, 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment attached to Task Force Ranger wore some kind of tan BDU (you can tell that they're not traditional flight suits because they're two pieces and Night Stalkers can clearly be seen blousing the pants in various photographs). The only really good photo I can find of one is the prop uniform that Glenn Morshower wore in the film. It's definitely not an OG-107 judging from the position/number of pockets and covering over the buttons, but it might be partially based on it. Also obligatory begging for Delta Hawk (peace be upon him) to add Task Force Ranger equipment (PT Body Armor, Raid DCUs with shiny black boots, flag patches, flight suits) to USM.- 333 replies

*insert joke about how the US Army ripped off Crye Precision's intellectual property by stealing Multicam and stamping "OPERATIONAL CAMOUFLAGE PATTERN" all over it here* I despise Multicam with a passion rivaling CNN's hatred of President Trump but even I have to admit that Crye Precision should be paid for their work. DHI Battle Dress Uniforms
extracrispi replied to Delta Hawk's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
I thought you said you wanted to update everything to the new models? USM may be old, but it's by far your most popular mod and while this one is a great too, a lot of communities are going to opt to use one mod and but not the other (if I were to guess, many would keep using USM but not adopt DHI for the sake of saving disk space or whatnot). It would be nice to get some of the features for DHI such as the ability to attach unit and flag patches or if all else fails, fixed BDU, DCU, and DBDU models with the flag/unit patches of say the Army's 10 most famous units (101st and 82nd Airborne, 75th Rangers, US Army Special Forces, USASOC, 1st Armored, 1st Infantry, 1st Cavalry, etc.). Some BDU and DCU models using the standard black leather boots instead of jungle/tan (BDUs nominally came with black and DCUs were frequently issued in black as late as 2004) would also be nice. One last thing, I found this picture US Army Special Forces in Bosnia wearing Ranger Body Armor with flag patches and black SWAT vests. I just thought you might like it.- 333 replies

Any plans to incorporate elements of this into USM (ex. replacing the existing BDU models/adding unit/flag patches) or vise versa (resizing and porting vests from USM to this)? Also, are kneepads still a hidden feature like USM or no?- 333 replies

Black helmet covers are more of a thing you'd see in police departments and dumb action movies. Basic PASGT comes in either olive drab or dark green. It would be great if we could get a "naked" PASGT without the helmet cover or even one with the painted M81 Woodland pattern like the original prototypes from the 1970s. But first, we need kneepads and flag/unit patches because PANAMA.

I'd say you should definitely have an option to include all equipment in the arsenal so you don't have people who are unaware of them. I can only speak for myself but I already have gigs worth of mods installed so a few dozen extra uniform variants won't be that much of a hassle.
