H-60 Interactive Blackhawk pack - Patch 0.6 released - Join our discord
PTV-Jobo replied to yax's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
I can't believe I didn't notice this until now. I've been following this project with bated breath and excitement. I was really hoping this project didn't get scrapped, so you can imagine both my surprise and delight when I saw you mention a dev build. Just got done testing it with my group and while we've experienced 1 crash due to what we think was the memory leak reported, it was unanimously declared we would fly in nothing else but this beauty. I am aware some people in the community tend to wave their ego around trying to make this or yourself feel or a bunch of morons "hur dur" their way through feedback and bug reporting, which can really wear down any desire to continue modding. Especially with how old Arma 3 is getting too. But, I just wanted to chime in and show my appreciation for such a great effort put forth into this project and my hopes that it will continue over time as it 100% deserves to be. I mean even the Dev Build version feels smooth like butter and flies beautifully.....a freakin dev build. I can imagine how much more amazing it'll be over time. Please don't lose heart for this project and keep going. This has become easily hands down one of those rare gems that deserves the spotlight. 🙂 -
Well, that's why I said it was merely a guess and nothing beyond it. Sometimes people do change names up a bit to also avoid using actual names and dealing with possible headache. Again, thus why I said specifically "But that's just my guess that is.".

My guess is because of the lack of wanting to get sued over using the trademarked name without paying them an arm and a leg for the rights to do so. So often times in Arma, real life "brands" get funny names and such to avoid any unwanted issues or headaches. But that's just my guess that is.

RHS Escalation (AFRF and USAF)
PTV-Jobo replied to soul_assassin's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Just wanted to say congrats on the update. It's probably one of my favorites thus far. Lots of nice updates and additions. And I have to admit, I'm in love with that mine plow, lol. It's something I always thought would be awesome to see in Arma 3 in general, but never thought I'd see. And now the wizards of RHS have used their dark arts to summon one from beyond and now I can enjoy it in game! The day of the update I spawned one on the server I play on and about 5 of us stood around it and the moment it moved and folded, we managed to all say "oooOOOOOoooooh" in unison like a pack of cavemen witnessing fire for the first time. 😄 A bigggg thanks to the RHS team and all of their hard work and effort you all continue to put in. 🙂- 16577 replies

Absolutely brilliant! Really glad you are still able to keep the project going. Can't begin to imagine all the complexities and trying to get Arma's engine to cooperate with your ideas and wishes. 😄 -
Coming soon™ to Project True Viking ( official Askelandic designation name TBD ) [A very huge thank you goes to Avery of Arma 3 Aegis who helped me out big time with some templates to help get me started and bring us steps closer to finally being able to provide our fans with some transportation finally in the near future!]

Hey again, I contacted the server admin with what you said and to try getting the rpt. He did the usual "did you try turning it off and back on again 2-3 times?" method and somehow things are working again. There was 1-2 mod updates, so we don't know if that is why the issue corrected itself or not. But I just wanted to thank you (on his behalf as well) for your quick responses and just to let you know the issue seemed to have fixed itself somehow. 🙂

Heya Vdauphin, My community is experiencing a major issue with H&M ever since ACE3 updated. The self interaction menu in H&M is looking like this: And what happens is when you use the self interaction menu, everyone ends up suffering a massive amount of lag. I went from 40fps to 2fps instantly the moment I used the self interaction menu, but only when playing H&M. We are running a Linux server, so I am not sure if this is a reason for it or not. But wanted to just let you know, especially to also see if anyone else is or has experienced something like this and maybe track down a fix.
-
God how I love when mod makers take the time and consider those neat little details and functions!! Great job on the ACE interaction setup. 🙂

Cargo Ship Project (Static)
PTV-Jobo replied to ArmaFiend's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
Pay no mind to his whining, man. This is the same guy that walked into the USP Gear & Uniforms thread angry they aren't making things quick enough for him and told them to just buy everything so he can have his update quicker. He's not worth it. He's all complaints and nothing more. Typical bottom of the barrel forum troll. 😉 -
Nice to see you back!

This is 100% from an ignorant individual who has never made a mod like this in their life. Here's some hint--I started my project back in Arma 2 and still to this day we are barely getting by. Why? Because modding is fucking hard! I don't know what sort of leprechaun-level of luck you have been born with where you personally can just wake up and squat over the floor and out comes a little completed mod baby from between them impatient, self-entitled cheeks of yours. But here in the real world--it takes time. And often times a LOT of it. Then you have to take into account people who are doing this are doing a hobby they enjoy for a project they love without pay. What does that mean? It means they have regular jobs they need to do to keep a roof over their heads (and often times they have families to care for too!), and also fed regularly and not living off a cup of microwaved ramen every 3 days just to hurry up and make things for you. Then they also have other real life stuff they do. This team outnumbers mine and still taking time. And RHS outnumbers probably both of our teams combined and still take a long time between updates and content. Because again--it takes a lot of time and hard work. Something you should try yourself sometime, then maybe you would gain a bit more understanding and appreciation...... Here's something to consider too--no one here owes you anything. They don't need to work on your time schedule and make things that you want. If you want things your way and quick enough for you--then buckle up buttercup and learn to do it yourself.

We've been using this a lot on the Casual Arma Players server and I have to say, we have not enjoyed the AI this much in years. We use to use other ai mods out there--none of which are bad by the way--but the moment we used LAMBS for the first time, we were all like "this is it....this is the one". The AI have this wonderful way of letting you build up a lot of ego and self-confidence and promptly squatting all over it. We've been out-flanked and surrounded so many times, it was awesome! Like I said, other ai mods out there are also pretty good and its creators are incredible. I liked aspects like ASR where if the AI don't have NVG's at night you can kinda sneak up behind them. Or like VCOM where ai can make use of their anti-personnel mines or deploy static mg's (and i think mortars? not sure) if they have the backpacks....little things like that. But overall, it feels like LAMBS has really changed the way the AI and the game feels. And we absolutely love it!

Project True Viking Seeking 3D Modellers to help with the projects backlog of infantry-related assets that need doing/tweaking. This is an ongoing project that has no deadlines. Unfortunately our team is extremely tiny and we still have a lot that needs doing over the coming years ahead. We could really use all the help we can get to grow our project for the community to enjoy. We have put together a public Trello board showing everything that is planned for Project True Viking and thus, what we could really, really use help with. Any help is welcomed help—whether it be part-time help, full-time help, project asset donations, etc. You can find the public Trello board here: https://trello.com/b/Tst1X847/ptv-infantry-to-do-list For any questions regarding helping Project True Viking's development, feel free to contact me directly or (preferably) joining the official PTV Community Discord here: https://discordapp.com/invite/88SpSYW

On behalf of the PTV Development Team, I would like to wish the Arma Community and our supporters a very special Happy Holidays and a great New Year!

Looks great!

Sorry to hear you guys are going through this crap again. But glad to see it hasn't pushed you guys away from the rest of the community. I know things like this can often leave a very sour taste in the mouth, especially when it seems like it never ends with these clowns. Keep up the great work. Everything you post shows a lot of top notch quality with top notch love for the project. Makes me kinda jealous, lol. *wink* 😄

PTV Workshop Update LIVE! Added: - New 890 M2 variants with new handguard model - New LLM01 Flashlight weapon accessory - Uniforms with placeholder glove models - Custom Squad Group added to Editor. (will expand as our content grows, obviously) - CBA PIP optics variants added Tweaks/Fixes: - MG3 belt visual bug fixed - New (experimental) 1st person firing sounds for 890's, Negev/Minimi, MG3's. (original sounds located and signed in the Optionals Folder) - Rate of Fire fixes/tweaks implemented across weaponry - Mag Proxy changes Closing Note: I would like to take the time to thank our supporters for hanging in there. We've had some unfortunate happenings over the recent months that caused complications. We would have liked to have sent this out a lot sooner, but you know how things always end up turning out--you plan ahead and life ends up messing up your plans. But either way, here it finally is! Additionally (as usual), I would like to still let the community know we are still in deep need for additional help--whether part time or full time--any help is welcomed help. Namely: We would like to get the infantry kit further along and more complete. We are also needing help implementing the grippod system (RHS) for our weapons. We have the models and accessories ready, just need help with the script/config it to get it to work. And we are also looking for a new vehicles-oriented modeler(s) that can help us get some proper transportation going over the coming years of development. I understand with the whole CDLC thing going on, this is probably something that will not be happening for a long time as people are tied up right now with their projects. Even so, I just wanted to let the community know our needs. Again, should talent out there get our little development "S.O.S.", I do want to state again that it can be either full time help or even part time. We would appreciate any help, period, so we can continue to provide content to our community and see PTV and the Askelandic Forces grow into a much more playable state in the coming years ahead.
