    DUI - Squad Radar

    I was modifying the settings while I was connected to our dedicated server. And I have CBA and DUI Squad Radar running only client side. Most of DUI Squad Radar UI doesn't render at all (just the unit markers, and only sometimes) and trying to change settings doesn't not work at all. Does CBA need to be running on the server? When I use STHUD I run CBA and STHUD only client-side and am able to change settings just fine after connecting to the server and starting a mission. madpat3, I don't see where you can get to configure addons after connecting the server but before starting a mission. Thanks ahead of time for any more help. So the problem was that I needed to have CBA running on the server, not just clientside. That fixed everything. When using STHUD you can run both CBA and STHUD clientside only and it works fine. Problem resolved. And the cool thing is, you can change DUI Squad Radar settings mid mission, no problem. Great job diwako.

    Thanks for the info. I had never noticed any significant performance hit due to the STHUD but I'm certainly going to compare the two based on this new information. And I agree with the benefit of having interaction with the developer. Looks like great work diwako, gonna try it out this evening. So in my initial test of this mod it works great when connected to a locally hosted server but does not work properly when connected to a dedicated server. On the dedicated server I've just installed the key to enable to mod to be used since it supposed to be a client side mod. When connected to dedicated not all of the UI elements render. I get the unit icons for the units in my group (sometimes) but never see the compass or the names. Also changes made via 'configure addons' do not take affect. I like all the features of the mod but if it won't work when members of our group are connected to our dedicated server it won't be of much use. Any help getting this working would be greatly appreciated. I did see a note about a 'settings' file but I have no idea what that file should look like or where it should go.

    I had been looking at Arma from a distance for a while. It was when my group started looking for a replacement for America's Army v2 that we decided to give Arma a try and we haven't looked back since.

    Loadout Transfer 2

    Another question for anyone here... I'm using the script version of LT2 in a mission. When I or a member of my group attempts to load a mission saved loadout they end up completely empty, just in their skivvies. I've set the object init so that only loading mission loadouts is available. When I'm logged into the server (dedicated) as admin then sometimes it works for me but still, sometimes not. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

    I just removed everything and then saved that loadout as "empty" and I load that anytime I want to start from scratch.

  11. Hello, Does anyone know why, sometimes, after mod updates, in this case CUP Vehicles, the mod shows a red dot in the mod list at the bottom right of the in-game server browser. Version 1.10 Cup Vehicles was a green dot. The previous version was a red dot. And, this current version 1.11 is a red dot. Everything works fine and I only ask because I would suspect that a mod showing red in the server browser might discourage folks from joining the server. Any enlightenment would be much appreciated. Thanks.

    Dynamic Combat Generator

    Welcome back. I've been looking at this but have been worried about all the reports that it is not compatible with the most recent versions of Arma 3. Will you be updating it soon?
  13. Have you tried Dynamic Recon Ops (DRO). Our group loves it and it supports lots of terrians. One that is old but does generate an objective as soon as you join the server is BattleZone Altis. We've mostly used the Skepsist edit you can find on Armaholic. There is a newer edited one but I can remember the author of the edit. A search for battlezone altis should find it though. Another one you might like is Combat Assault by Code34. This one has no scripted tasks, just light to medium infantry combat to clear areas.
  14. I'm trying to figure out how to 'define' other factions for use with F3. When I drop down RHS USAF units the F3 framework displays a radio message saying that the faction rhs_usarmy_d is not defined. Anyone have any ideas where factions get defined in F3? EDIT: So I figured out how to add factions to the briefing component thereby removing the 'faction not defined' message. Briefings now work for RHSUSAF factions, but, now the assigngear has stopped working and I can't figure out why. There are no error messages and when I enable debug mode no debug messages are displayed, as if the assigngear script is not running at all.
  15. Hi Shay, The MCC on the Steam workshop says r26 in the main MCC console after you login in game. I see from the forum that the most recent version should be r22. Wondering which is correct. Also since the A3 update to v1.86, using MCC from the Steam workshop the mission maker no longer seems to work, never finishes creating a mission. I've tried both whole map and specific zone on Altis, no luck.

    I use gameservers.com for my group's server. They are a bit more expensive than some but I find their customer service to be very good. I think I pay around $71.00 every three months for a 12 slot server.

  20. Hi All, Relatively new to ARMA but not to similar games and running servers for them. I have rented a dedicated server for your group and everything has been working pretty will for a few months now. Send the release of 1.56 I've run into a couple if issues with the mods we've been using. And there's one lingering issue I've never really gotten a good answer to. 1. First, the lingering issue. Why is it that the DLC addons, Karts, Helos, and Marksmen have red dot's in the mod list at the bottom right of the server browser. I presume that red means somehow not matching between the client and the server, but I have know idea why that would be the case. Server runs fine and myself and my friends can join and play so not a huge issue, more of a curiosity. 2. Since the 1.56 update the CUP Weapons mod show red in the mod list in the browser. I've tried putting a fresh copy on my client machine and on the server but no matter what I do it remains red. As with the DLC addons to mod seems to work fine, we have access to all the weapons. Just don't understand why it shows as red. 3. More serious is that since the 1.56 update the Half Life Creations Mod Set, @hlcmods, when activated on the server the server will not start. The mod works fine locally on my client machine. Only my rented, dedicated server will not launch the game with that mod active. So for now we've disabled it, but we do miss some of the weapons. Hope this was clear and appreciate any insight anyone might have. Dave

    I would also suggest trying "Dynamic Recon Ops" available on the Steam Workshop for many terrains.
  22. Hi Zenophon, Yes I put the framework code in the mission folder. I know I tried Airbase Assault but didn't know about the requirement for more than one player. I will try that one again with friends. I will try Clean Sweep and the rest as well again and look for errors. Thanks for responding and for the great framework.
