    Lol that sounds annoying. l I’m not particularly advanced in this knowledge but my first idea would be for you to type another new code in the console and execute that and let that be the one that shows up by default. Not exactly sure why the code would execute without clicking local exec but putting something new in there should make it stop, or at least I’d assume.

    @drdetroit Hey Merry Xmas to you too! Yeah good idea, TBH I don’t play the Tanoa campaign nearly as much as I thought I would because IMO Spyder Addons adds so so much that without it, something feels off. No ambient traffic is a major one for me. There’s also less easy recruitment without it (you basically need to make a logistics request, set them to join your group, then wait for delivery), and some other really cool things. I’ve been meaning to add it in at least for myself (the idea was to release a dependency free showcase) but I haven’t had the time. For recruitment, place the module down and sync it to an object. Then either put BLU_T_F to be recruited as faction, or if you’d rather just write the unit classnames from the Recon dudes to the classnames override instead if you only want to be able to recruit spec ops guys. Then for ambience, place the module and set your parameters. This module requires classnames and doesn’t accept faction names at all. This will take a bit of time. But basically you’ll want to add the classnames to each override assuming you want all the features. Civ vehicle’s, civs, and enemies inside vehicles. So open up a blank notepad document, place a unit down in the editor (let’s say for civs), right click on the civ, select I believe it’s the “log” option, then select the one to copy the classname. Open your notepad document, and paste and the classname should paste. Then do it for the next Tanoan civ, paste it and make sure they are separated by a comma with no spaces, and do this until all Tanoan civs are in your document and paste that I the civilian classname override. Do the same for civ vehicles and for enemy units too if you want a chance for enemies inside vehicles. If you want Loadout Manager, place the module and sync it to any object. When playing in SP, the saving works exactly the same as it does in MP. Server save and exit. I generally just recommend MP now because you can’t respawn in SP. In SP when you die you die. I’ve been playing Battle of Sangin and am having a blast. Though I noticed ALiVE Advanced Markers aren’t persisting. I’ll try to see if I can figure out why. Anyway thanks for reaching out and feel free to post back if you have any other questions.

    Does anyone know offhand which editor placed asset is likely to be causing the gatling_30mm_base pop up error? I’ve had reports this is causing JIP issues on a dedicated server (I have no such issues in local MP, can’t test on dedi), and I’ve personally seen some issues with ALiVE persistence which I think might be related (my guess is the error on init is preventing some other persistence related things to load properly. This is why I’d like to test). I’d like to delete and replace the objects to see if the error goes away. Seems I’m the only one reporting this but I have it in every single one of my 3CB missions lol. I must love you guys in a real special way :) Anyway I’m willing to do some trial and error, just would love to know which object this is likely being caused by if anyone has a guess.
  5. There is an option in-game when playing in the ALiVE menu (I think it’s player options) to enable unloading logistics objects. Turn this on (it’s off by default) and when looking at a logistics object, you’ll have a scroll menu option to unload it.
  6. Lol yeah I get it with FATA also. I removed FATA completely just see what would happen, because I was curious, and it listed another map in its place in the error. Figure it’s probably just an endless chain of harmless errors. :) Caused by who knows what but it seems almost certainly harmless. It’s been this way forever.
  7. If you don’t see the debug console in the esc menu (its disabled by default now), add enableDebugConsole = 1; to a file called Description.ext and place it in your mission root folder. Then put the code placed above in the debug console/grey box and click local exec. If you don’t feel comfortable adding a file to a mission, I see R3vo release a debug console mod on Steam but I haven’t looked into it, just saw it on the front page.

    User Mission Request Thread

    Oh, I’d also love some missions where I play as a non-combatant. Anything with a decent story or atmosphere where the idea isn’t necessarily killing bad dudes (killing bad dudes at some point or even a lot is ok, I’d just like something a bit different than the norm if anyone has any recommendations or has made something).

    I’d love a SP mission where I play as an EOD guy and my job is to go discover and disarm them IED’s. Combat is not necessary but I’m ok with having to fight too. To my surprise even after the LoW update, and the remarkable campaign, Workshop has pretty much nothing. Or really any kind of humanitarian relief mission would be excellent too if something like that exits. Bonus points if it was made recently enough where it would likely still work. :)

    Did the CUP update from last night fix this maybe? I haven’t checked. If not it may not be a bad idea for someone to open a ticket for this kind of error. With Arma this close to end of life IMO backwards compatibility is ESSENTIAL before they stop updating the game entirely. For all I know there is a ticket open but feedback tracker’s search function leaves a lot to be desired. I tried searching for a different issue before posting a ticket last week and results don’t seem to filter/sort based on date or even game (2014 DayZ tickets on the first page in my Arma search, what the hell lol?)
  13. I just finished the Laws of War campaign, and I have to say, what a poignant, smart, well voice acted and all around remarkable experience. This will go down in my memories of one of the finest gaming campaigns I've played. I really appreciate it BI!
  14. Are they physically moving from the ground walking to and getting inside these vehicles or just spawning inside the vehicles? EDIT: I normally do what Reaper Lok does anyway, and just forbid spawns inside my main base. Sometimes I’ll add a few infantry groups with a cust obj module off in a corner somewhere, but I don’t let regular spawns in my base for various reasons, but the number one being vehicle groups spawning and destroying everything when trying to get out.
  15. No. ALiVE doesn’t do anything at all to low level AI behavior. Something other than ALiVE is causing ground units to hop in and steal your cars. This is a known issue with VCOM AI which is why I mentioned it. Is it possible the mission is using the VCOM script, or any AI scripts/mods?
  16. This is being caused by VCOM AI. I have no idea what the solution is, but this isn’t an ALiVE issue.

  19. Manually add the choppers yourself (manned), and make sure they are virtualized (if you use the option to virtualized all synced units, sync the manned chopper to Virtual AI. Just make sure the faction of the chopper is controlled your Commander). Not sure on the chat spam.

    I just reported this to the 3CB team a few days back. They said they’d look into it. Bummer it’s giving you connection issues. For me, when loading in the editor, I have no problem connecting but maybe this error is more severe in MP environments. That sucks. If I get a chance I’ll ask the 3CB team which asset(s) this is from. My best guess is a truck of some kind that the new Arma update doesn’t like (the error is new). Hey, what are you using for revive? Is it just for players or does it work with AI too?

    Wow the problem’s back. Time to wipe my PC I guess. Crazy I’m the only one having this problem. The rpt still says Arma can’t find my Documents folder, and this is with a new Arma install, new Windows profile account, and a brand new profile (no copy/pasting anything from the old profile this time).
  22. Make sure your modules aren’t spawning an HQ or Field HQ, and that air assets are set to off in MIL Obj module. If it’s vehicles too, check for ambient vehicles in the MIL Obj module (if it’s group spawns, I usually blacklist my main base from having vehicle group spawns in almost all cases because they get in way.) The map index might need some adjustments for the ambient air assets but I haven’t tried playing on Malden yet so can’t say one way or the other.
  23. Hmm. I actually was the one that regrouped all possible RHS factions so they’d be ALiVE compatible, as well as enabling their assets for resupply and Logistics. So basically, if there’s an issue with RHS, it’s probably my fault. Lol Someone told me not long ago that some RHS factions from USAF are showing up as OPFOR. Thing is, I spawned a bunch of their various groups after hearing this, and they show up as blue on the map and if I recall, looking at the code, their side is west. So it should be ok. I may have to ask around. I’m not a coding guy. Can any of you determine what side they are spawning as when spawned by MIL/Civ obj, then also check what side they are when a playable unit is placed and get back to me? What you’re describing would indicate the manually placed unit from USMC D is being recognized as a different side. I don’t see how that’s possible, I tested this all very thoroughly before the last RHS update, but I guess it’s possible we had a regression? EDIT: I looked though the code again. Side and GroupSideName are defined as West for USMC D. So it would seem to me at least as far as ALiVE is responsible, all seems well unless I’m missing something.     I want to thank @yxman for taking the time to assist me here via Steam chat. So the issue apparently was Arma suddenly not being able to read or write or see my Arma 3 Documents folders, as seen in the client rpt. He suggested I make a new profile on my PC and see if things began working again and so far, so good.

    I play off of an Arma3 -Other Profile because for whatever reason using the default profile automatically makes my in-game user name in MP my real life first and last name. I’m really not comfortable with that. Since of course Arma doesn’t allow you to rename the default profile, I just make a new one and name it whatever I like (Heroesandvillains). I’ve used this profile in this exact location for years now. Never had an issue. (Edit: To be clear, any time you make a second profile in the game, Arma 3 - Other Profiles is the path Arma makes for the second profile automatically. I didn’t create this path, the game did and always has) Thanks for the link and suggestions. I do appreciate it. I don’t know much about commands or parameters though. I can try it. The example on the wiki is a bit confusing. I know where to put launch parameters, but do you know offhand what the functioning parameter would be for my exact profile location?
