Curry 10 Posted July 15, 2010 (edited) It is not realistic to have two different options for recoil because a real gun recoils only in one way and it will not center on the target again for you automatically 100% therefore the new recoil model is realistic (my opinion) because you actually have to control the gun with your mouse as your gun with your hands in real live and should stay the way it is until a better recoil model is found and implemented. ben_s 11 Posted July 15, 2010 Yes, In real life you have to combat the recoil by moving it back. Games automaticly do this. But ArmA will now make the player do it. Making it more challenging.
Bob -SES- 10 Posted July 15, 2010 Those words again "Realistic" & "Realism". Why don't we be "Realistic" and call it gameplay? The "Gameplay" was fine as it was, many people prefer the original "Gameplay" to the so called new "Realistic" or should i say "Try hard" gimmicks being added for the wannabe war veterans. Make the game too irritating and it will lose it's appeal.

Controlling with your hands a real gun or a fictional one with the mouse is a big difference. For being honest I'm also a bit tired with the realistic simulation thingy. C'mon guy's. It is a game. I must admit the best one available at the moment. Just my 2 cents. kind regards
twisted 128 Posted July 15, 2010 recoil if you do not like it is easily mod-able. lots of reference exists on the subject. it is possible to tweak it to the way you like and then play SP with that. MP on the other hand needs a common consensus where mods allowed are common. maybe the recoil you make is so awesome that everyone wants it. maybe not. ACE2 is awesome mod going for realism but adds a little more recoil than plain arma2 so you probably would struggle with that if you can't handle the current recoil. agree that aram2 oa is best game available right now. I think those against it are mainly looking out for competitive and fair PvP.
giorgygr 61 Posted July 15, 2010 I stated in another post about same matter..NO option. We 'll get used to it in time.. It will make your SP experience better (Have you played SLX mod??..) ..and your MP experience less CoD-ish and BF-ish Even AA3 have more realistic recoil than ArmA1 &

nettrucker 143 Posted July 15, 2010 I've tried yesterday the beta patch for the first time which is already outdated today. It takes just a couple of hours to adapt and adjust. I agree with you that MP has an issue with different options, but it's not only recoil related these issues, there are well known other reasons while MP is messy. @ GiorgyGR has it ever come to your mind that not all people are using mods and that there still players who play vanilla? What is most important to all of us, I believe, is the fun we have playing this game "Ultimate Military Simulator" or not. A lot of people don't like ArmA because it is challenging. Back on topic. Escluding any option is not a right decision in my opinion. there are a lot of people who are not playing MP due to whatever reason. Everone is entitled to have his own opinion concerning the recoil of weapons, for some people it's too much for others it'll be fine. you can never do it right to anybody. kind regards

Realistic??? Coming from people sat there with a cam net over their PC, cam cream on their faces and customer loyalty cards to the army surplus stores. Here's the realism, the auto return should simulate muscle tension so unless you're some 2 stone whimp, you're not "in true reality" going to get alot of recoil and definately no weapon climb. Let's go for true reality rather than someone's assumption and movie watching experience.

The new recoil is still not perfect, but better than the old one. The old recoil recenters automaticlly almost 100% or 100% which you will not achieve with your muscle tension in real life. To simulate this muscle tension BI added the rising of the muzzle so that you have to control your gun with the mouse with muscle tension in your hand and arm. Alright? :D BTW and don't wear cam cream on my face nor do I have a cam net over my PC and a customer loyalty card hanging down my chest for surplus stores. And I'm definitely not a 2 stone whimp LOL. Edited July 15, 2010 by Curry

Richey79 10 Posted July 15, 2010 Once the new recoil hits a mainstream patch, I'm sure there'll be enough people who dislike it that somebody will make a mod for single-player. 'Til then why not stick with 1.52 (non beta)?

champi 10 Posted July 15, 2010 (edited) lol where didt they get the recoil from bazookaaaaaaaaaaaa hahahaha Beagle Master Gunnery Sergeant Join Date: Jun 2001 Location: Germany <<<<---------- he use to the grapy guns lol the use theme over there thats why they lost the war Posts: 1,194 Why should it be optional? ArmA tries to simulate the difficulties of combat, thats why you already have shaking when under fire or running and other effects. The new recoil is introduced to further enhance this and put an end to the ridiculous ironsight, CCO long range snipingc and high precise rifle auto fire over 300m. In Multiplayer the option would be overidden anyway serverside, so better get used to it now. For SP you can anytime tone down A.I. precision to counter this, but just beeing more cautious will do also. __________________ AMD Athlon64 X2 6000+ 3,1 GHz <<<---------- there is one of your probs MSI K9N Ultra MDT 2GB DDR II in Dual Channel mode Sapphire HD 4870 VaporX 1GB DDR5 <<<=============== big one here ATI Catalyst 10.6 Windows XP 32 SP3 Edited July 15, 2010 by champi
