topas 1 Posted April 26, 2010 With permission given by the original author I decided to go public with these; Thanks to 'texture selctions' implemented in the modern Polish Army addon by Vilas; allowing a single model to support several different texture variants it has become possible to make this a release-candidate. The idea behind the pack is to enhance the existing npl_a2 addon by Vilas by trying to squeeze as much of realistic textures, based on real-life counterparts as possible. These will contain true to reality camouflage patterns, license plates, registry numbers, unit logos, customized/unique decals as seen on pics from A-stan and additional detail like all those little writings on hatches, info on tire pressure etc. Due to addon limitations [mapping/mirroring etc] it has not been possible to recreta a 100% accurate look on all presented vehicles, but they do come close to the real thing as it was possible. The below presented is an effect of my work, performed gradually since September 2009; with little pauses till last weekend when last additions have been made. Hopefully this will be good for screenshots, and the peacekeeping variants KFOR/IFOR will encourage the missionmakers to make some 90's missions in the Balkans or to use the EUFOR versions for some African action set on the islands available Here is the WIP content as of today 2S1 Howitzer http://j.imagehost.org/0547/go1.jpg http://j.imagehost.org/0871/go2.jpg http://j.imagehost.org/0670/go3.jpg BWP-1 http://j.imagehost.org/0422/pol4.jpg http://j.imagehost.org/0861/pol6.jpg http://j.imagehost.org/0666/pol7.jpg BWP-1 Winter http://j.imagehost.org/view/0025/bwp-winter BWP-2000 [prototype] Fictional -> standard polish tricolour and unit markings applied - as they would if this have entered service http://j.imagehost.org/view/0605/p21 http://j.imagehost.org/view/0564/p22 http://j.imagehost.org/view/0461/p23 BWP-2000 Winter http://j.imagehost.org/view/0218/2000_wintwr BRDM-2 M96 standard polish tricolour http://j.imagehost.org/view/0984/p8 http://j.imagehost.org/view/0091/brdm http://j.imagehost.org/view/0893/chfor3 real BRDM for comparison http://j.imagehost.org/view/0874/brdm-2_rkh_MSPO_2006_Poland_001 BRDM-2 M96 Winter http://j.imagehost.org/view/0377/brdm_zima http://j.imagehost.org/view/0832/brdm_zima2 BRDM-2 M96 Iraq 2006 http://j.imagehost.org/view/0492/brdm_irak http://j.imagehost.org/view/0596/polishbrdm26fi real for comparison BRDM-2 M96 IFOR Bosnia 1995 based on a scheme as visible in a polish "Demony Wojny" movie http://j.imagehost.org/view/0319/d1 http://j.imagehost.org/view/0600/d2 http://j.imagehost.org/view/0908/d3 original in the movie for comparison below: http://j.imagehost.org/view/0915/Polski_Film_Demony_Wojny_avi_008 http://j.imagehost.org/view/0969/Polski_Film_Demony_Wojny_avi_006 BRDM-2 M96 KFOR Kosovo mid-1990's http://j.imagehost.org/view/0111/brdm_kfor http://j.imagehost.org/view/0033/brdm_kfor2 original below: http://j.imagehost.org/view/0936/brdm2model96poland014tk BRDM-2 M96 EUFOR - Bosnia http://j.imagehost.org/view/0913/brdm_euro1 http://j.imagehost.org/view/0051/brdm_euro2 original below: http://j.imagehost.org/view/0896/D_3A_5CZdj_C4_99cia_20Militarne_5CPKW_20Bosnia_5Czdjecie_567_7231 BRDM-2 ATGM http://j.imagehost.org/view/0951/p17 http://j.imagehost.org/view/0554/p18 http://j.imagehost.org/view/0259/p19 as based on existing vehicles seen below: http://j.imagehost.org/view/0941/brdm_real DANA 152mm http://j.imagehost.org/view/0915/dana http://j.imagehost.org/view/0654/dana2 HMMWV http://j.imagehost.org/view/0103/hum1 http://j.imagehost.org/view/0061/hum2 Tarpan HONKER 4x4 http://j.imagehost.org/view/0386/hon1 http://j.imagehost.org/view/0814/hon2 Tarpan HONKER 4x4 Ambulance http://j.imagehost.org/view/0719/karetka2 http://j.imagehost.org/view/0518/karetka KTO ROSOMAK in Standard tricolour camo http://j.imagehost.org/view/0857/p1 http://j.imagehost.org/view/0180/p3_2 http://j.imagehost.org/view/0085/p8_2 KTO ROSOMAK United Nations http://j.imagehost.org/view/0496/rosomak_un http://j.imagehost.org/view/0175/rosomak_un2 as based on a real life counterpart: http://j.imagehost.org/view/0072/26bagramyu9 KTO ROSOMAK EUFOR Chad / Africa http://j.imagehost.org/view/0251/rosomak_afryka KTO ROSOMAK Polish Military Contingent Afghanistan [early deployments] http://j.imagehost.org/view/0046/rosmak_olive KTO ROSOMAK M1 uparmored -> Afghanistan; present deployments http://j.imagehost.org/view/0069/rosomak_uparm http://j.imagehost.org/view/0972/rosomak_uparm3 as based on: http://j.imagehost.org/view/0784/sdc10774 KTO ROSOMAK Winter http://j.imagehost.org/view/0396/rosomak_zima1 http://j.imagehost.org/view/0017/rosomak_zima2 Leopard 2A4 standard tricolour http://j.imagehost.org/view/0115/p14 http://j.imagehost.org/view/0532/wpleo3 http://j.imagehost.org/view/0439/p2 Leopard 2A4 Winter camouflage http://j.imagehost.org/view/0599/z4 http://j.imagehost.org/view/0735/z5 http://j.imagehost.org/view/0634/z6 based on: http://j.imagehost.org/view/0241/0022y T-72M1 and PT-91 Twardy tanks http://j.imagehost.org/view/0897/t72 http://j.imagehost.org/view/0726/t72-1 http://j.imagehost.org/view/0037/tanks STAR 266 & STAR 266M 6x6 Trucks in standard tricolour http://j.imagehost.org/view/0673/star266 http://j.imagehost.org/view/0401/stary STAR 944 Standard olive & ISAF Afghanistan http://j.imagehost.org/view/0706/star944 http://j.imagehost.org/view/0497/star944afgan ZSU Shilka http://j.imagehost.org/view/0856/zsu4 http://j.imagehost.org/view/0618/zsu3 http://j.imagehost.org/view/0917/zsu2 Mi-24 49th & 56th Regiment Poland/Afghanistan - NATO olive http://j.imagehost.org/view/0934/mi2 http://j.imagehost.org/view/0851/afg1 Mi-24 49th Regiment Poland/Iraq http://j.imagehost.org/view/0947/mi24 http://j.imagehost.org/view/0632/p4 Mi-8 ISAF Afghanistan http://j.imagehost.org/view/0744/mi1 As there's still a lot to be added and little to none time combined with previously started projects [RHS work being the main focus] to be finished I cannot give any ETA on this one. Defunkt 431 Posted April 26, 2010 You always turn out such great textures and Vilas' models are deserving of them. Apparently, judging by the number, you're also prolific. I'd rate these a must-have and look forward to their eventual release.
lennard 447 Posted April 26, 2010 Those textures contain an impressive amount of detail, great job.

topas 1 Posted April 27, 2010 Thank you all for a positive reception @khero, I can thank you for the 'texturing quality' part only ;) As the topic's title says it's a texture replacement and texture-variety-addition project. Models are not mine.
Mr_Harding 1 Posted April 28, 2010 Textures were always a weak point of Vilas. Now his addons will shine in new prospective. Waiting for the release.
norsu 180 Posted April 28, 2010 Looking mighty fine indeed. I suggest that this pack will work from a single fixed mod folder (i.e. @Polisharmy) that cannot be changed to something else. This way we could say that this is a full blown mod and not just an addon pack. Making a fixed mod folder would also benefit multiplayer as players could always trust that @Polisharmy includes all these addons on a server. This is what we are doing with FDFmod, it will only work from our specific mod folder.

synthesis 10 Posted May 8, 2010 Exciting to see another country's vehicles to shoot from/shoot at being implemented, and as with others, it's great to see Vilas' excellent models getting some fantastic texturing. The BWPs are particularly impressive!
topas 1 Posted May 15, 2010 Thx; Need to get some free time to perform some finishing touches.. The pack is almost ready; just need to make the config [at which I suck; even with Vilas having explained it numerous times] and pack it tohgether for release.. If I don't do it in the following week; feel free to bash me; then I'll remember ;))
