TVT55_Fallout_rpg/postapocalyptic style mission released!

Hi guys,

usually I'm releasing missions only for TacticalGamer community that I'm member of. However, my Fallout mission because popular on TG servers and I thoght that releasing it to public is a good thing.

I'm happy to proudly present you my postapocalyptic Fallout mission, that I was working on for almost two months.

Your gameplay feeling will be slightly different than in other missions. Everyone will find here something that they like.

You want to play in strictly tactical way, choose Raiders, Regulators or Enclave.

Wasteland loners, people who like to have free world of choice and scavening for equipment and weapons can join to Civilians side.

Remember, that this is long mission for mature players who can do role-playing.

STORY:

Mission is set several decades after a worldwide conflict brought on by global petroleum shortage. United Nations disband. China invades Alaska in the winter of 2032, causing the United States to go to war with China and using Canadian resources to supply their war efforts, despite Canadian complaints. Then war moves to U.S. and Americans are forced to fight on their soil.

After years of conflict, on October 23, 2052, a global nuclear attack occurs. Nobody knows who strikes first, but in less than two hours most major cities are destroyed.

You are survivors of atomic apocalypse that changed East Coast into wasteland. You will have to scavenge cars and places for weapons in order to survive. Don't trust anyone, someone who seems to be a friend may shoot you in the back.

TASKS:

Each of the sides has to collect 5 of each water, food, fuel and weapons, in order to win the game.

There is lots of roleplaying, especially for civilians, who can choose side and stay on their own.

Features:

* complete new game in arma2

* 4 x 3 km of detailed postapocalyptic world with settlements

* ruins of big city's

* abandoned military bases

* remainings of elevated highways (yes, there are collapsed parts, so you can get on the top and walk there)

* cars that need to be searched in order to find weapons

* ambient sounds

* 4 playable sides

* you can drag items and load them up on vehicles

* script changing game colors for more postapocalyptic feeling

* absolutely freedom

* 2 min respawn/JIP

* Fallout feeling

* ACE Medical Module

* Marketplace point created at Megaton

* places can be sized by certain groups and everybody will see a message when this happens. example: Fort Bannister is now under control of (name of the group)

* limited weapons and vehicles, you will have to fight in order to get ot

* and more

It's free world. However, playing as Enclave, Raiders or Regulators you will have to find and bring back items to your teams base-depot. Check Tasks and other sections for more informations.

Remember that weapons and fuel is limited, you may need to fight in order to get it.

Megaton Trading Post is a neutral zone. Players will meet there to trade.

Playing as civilian you can do whatever you want. You can side with one of the factions Regulators, Raiders or Enclave (read more in 'FACTIONS' section), create your own group of few people (raid, steal and just hang out) or just be on your own as wasteland loner.

Is your server open to public? Can't play this alone...

I'm not sure if our Tactical Gamer servers are open to public at this time.

Hi Mikee, firstly I'll say great work! tested it last night on LAN and enjoyed it alot. 2 small issues though, it may just be me not knowing how to change it but when i start the mission its night time and no night vision, to be fair i was expecting no night vision due to the style of mission but so i can learn the mission a little better id like to start it in the day time, is that possible?

When I selected civilian the civilian AI units followed orders as expected but on all the other 3 teams the AI wouldn't move after they are given a command, they just stayed in the base, is that a problem or am I doing something wrong?

Ow one more thing, It says that it requires the ACE2 mod which is fine, but it doenst say it needs the CBA mod, should i be running it with out CBA or should I run it with it?

CBA is required by ACE (besides a lot of other addons that are XEH compatible). So yes, you'll need it

We test this mission on ours public server and i think this mission can be interesting but there is 2 things anoying:

-the mission begin the night and we see nothing, put guns with torchlight (maybe some grenade launcher with flare too). There is a lot of M4 in aceX who have torchlight

-the intro is a pain in the ass, when we change camp or leave the game and come back (because of a crash for exemple) we have to see the intro again and again and again. One time is enought.

For the record

I've edited the mission;

1) to include hour of the day. It was missing in mission.sqm and was causing time irregularities for players (day/night) issue.

2) to have some yellow colorCorrection effect for some post apocalypse feel. Copied the one in Moricky's EW ;)

Well how be damned, someone actually made a fallout mod for this game. I hope to see more stuff and functions added to this mission over time.

This mission is sweet, it still needs more work, but is great. I'm calling this mission... ArmAgeddon

You may need to update the island Aiaktalik. I heard that day/night cycle was broken on the island, but author fixed it.

I'm working on big update for the mission (may release it under different name), it will be pointed towards normal Arma 2 way of playing, but with postapocalyptic feeling.

I liked this mod quite a bit and so did my clan. It would be kind of cool to have random enemies everywhere but that's just me.
