trickster1982 10 Posted January 1, 2010 My biggest problem is AI controlled by me... Im going mad. Cant heal, cant move, cant get in vehicles & cant do anything but lying around and defy all my orders GRRRRRR!!!!Playing ACE doesnt make it better. So much more danger around. Backblast, Dangerzones around tanks etc, and i cant tell my AI to get the **** away and they die from shockwaves etc haha... F*** im going insane. Controlled AI needs to get the old system back where we order them into DANGER, and skip the auto version. It was a good idea, but as ive said - the AI can not compare to our intelligence - not yet. :) Absolutely! Its the biggest problem with the game right now & needs to be hotfixed as soon as possible. Im really pleased with every other aspect of 1.05 so im not trying to have a dig at BIS, but the AI getting stuck in combat mode & ignoring nearly all orders once they are in it is making the game far too frustrating to play at the moment, so unfortunately im not playing it for the time being, just keep checking these forums in the hope its getting sorted :(

But sure needs to be fixed.

mattxr 9 Posted January 4, 2010 OF course we all know its not the final patch as they have said multiple times that when OA comes out the fixes and improvements(not new features) will also be patched into ArmA II..

Inkompetent 0 Posted January 6, 2010 We'll probably see 1.06 and probably even more before we see any OA. There's still a lot to fix and improve, and with the new beta patch system we have I think we'll see a lot more happen a lot faster than it did for ArmA1. On top of that OA seem to be a big, expensive production, contrary to Queen's Gambit, so there's a lot of money in that basket, and I bet they want to polish their product (read engine) as much as possible before the release. Considering it's a stand-alone expansion it'll probably mean even more purchases than if it was dependant on ArmA2, which makes the polish so much more important for a successful release. kklownboy 43 Posted January 6, 2010 Hence the reason you wont see any(or maybe one) beta patchs, all resources are on OA now.
Zipper5 74 Posted January 7, 2010 Hence the reason you wont see any(or maybe one) beta patchs, all resources are on OA now. Not this shit again... You know, I really can't be bothered to repeat the same thing for the 1000th time. So I'll just say go look it up for yourself.
Alex72 1 Posted January 7, 2010 Noticed when i played EW and had ACE running that the small arms fire trail-offs (reverb) was stuck in the ear they played first on... Same problem as with the explosions that BIS fixed. Noticed some other people talking about this as well. This really needs to be fixed until Operation Arrowhead. Hopefully OA will get a new sound engine (overhauled with hardware support). I noticed how confused i got when shots was fired around me. I could hardly pin point where the shots came from. The actual BANG is short so that you hear, but if you didnt find the shooter on the actual BANG but listens to the trail-off - you cant as it follows in the ear as you turn around. Touching this up through betas or replace some parts of the soundmod? I just hope this gets fixed + more.

So I'll just say go look it up for yourself. then why post? Did you interpret my post wrong? Did you think i said there wont be any more patches for A2? Hmm then you would be wrong. So dont be "bothered"... and try to understand ,A2 has no game breaking bugs with 1.05, A2 most likely wont see another patch till OA, maybe one.. for some continuity with OA work. NeMeSiS 11 Posted January 7, 2010 Ai work fine with the current modsets out(ace/gl4 ect)...if YOU run Ai squads, then you have to adjust to the way they will react, which means alot of individual orders... Team management is teh sux, i always have to resort to individual commands to move AI... since opf... If im attacking in a reasonably fair fight (Or when i have the upper hand) i always use the 'engage at will' command and only give orders if i want my AI to take out specific targets (Usually armor). Its also usable in defence if you are not being overwhelmed. Then i just let them do whatever they want. They may not be very fast, but they can figure out what they have to do by themselves. NoRailgunner 0 Posted January 7, 2010 The game and the AI should work fine without any mods/addons! Or should people buy a "OA sandbox" and wait till the community fixes again BIS bugs + issues? Guess if you go and buy a bread you wont like to buy a half-baked one. Stop to excuse developers + publishers from releasing buggy games! Guess if there would be a real competitor BIS wouldnt feel save and comfortable anymore. ;)
Alex72 1 Posted January 7, 2010 The AI is a problem atm. They dont follow me at all when theyve spotted enemies. Even though i as a human can see that its time to move - and its safest to do so - they still wont budge. Hope BIS moves back to player controlled DANGER mode. This way we could snap them out of it and move them to tactical positions again before going DANGER again. Other than that i feel the AI is pretty good. Could be better, but i think there will be improvements enough by the time more patches and OA is out.
kklownboy 43 Posted January 7, 2010 (edited) The game and the AI should work fine without any mods/addons!Define fine.I can play with out mods, but like every other game's AI (enemy) they are dumb and it gets boring, but they are fine enough... just not what i find challenging.Sooo i use mods, for a better game play, for me. Or should people buy a "OA sandbox" and wait till the community fixes again BIS bugs + issues? Guess if you go and buy a bread you wont like to buy a half-baked one. I will be buying it for the "SandBox" duhh! this is why i play Bis's games...For the sand box, not the "campaign", For the user extras, for all the cool stuff that is added on top of the original. Stop to excuse developers + publishers from releasing buggy games! Guess if there would be a real competitor BIS wouldn't feel save and comfortable anymore. ;) I think you haven't a clue what you speak about. I believe your playing the wrong game, maybe a console and some Halo for you? Edited January 8, 2010 by kklownboy
