-RIP- Luhgnut 10 Posted November 3, 2009 (edited) Hell yeah! :D What a bunch of bs, could´nt be arsed watching past 1:27 .. LOL... you should have watched. Explaining how they could reproduce all the same objects. Well, you take one tree, and populate the same model all over hell. Take the same model for your troops, and do the same. Take a color pallet and wash it out to 256 colors. Explaining multi-threading for a game developed for a console that doesn't touch it, and port it to a PC and it only turns on one core. What a pile of crap. Edited November 3, 2009 by W0lle quoted image
RaXz 0 Posted November 3, 2009 Why didn't they go with mcDonalds? Much easier to make up a mission about that, and it has more associations with the mcGames industry. Though it's pretty easy to use the term Intel in a mission briefing, I already seen that a lot. ;) Sad isn't it? Every time I read something like this or hear something like this it always brings me to this http://www.vgcats.com/comics/?strip_id=282. Yeah that's a cartoon that really shows what is happening, I forgot about that one. VGcats has another one that's quite funny, but still, it's sad that the industry has come to this. I wouldn't be suprised if it's already posted in this thread but I'll link it anyway, it really hits the nail. :D http://videogame2play.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/07/080722.jpg
Bulldogs 10 Posted November 4, 2009 Heh, like any nerd could make a mission with "McDonalds" in the title without getting hungry every time they look at it

Zipper5 74 Posted November 4, 2009 I think somehow, someone should really try to shut Codemasters up. Every new video they're releasing is full of lies. Still. Even though their "fans" hate the game right now, as well as them, due to so many lies. Yet they're gonna keep pumping it out. It's really pissing me off, I'll admit. Also, these videos must have been recorded before release. It's the only way that they can possibly still think that any of their "fans" will make missions that are really "complex". No one cares any more, and I really hope that Codemasters have not yet recovered what they spent developing the game. I seriously hope that they suffer financially. vilas 477 Posted November 4, 2009 man, imagine me :P i, so bashing BIS for their not-realistic mistakes, register to Youtube to praise BIS :D never thought before that i would register on 5 forums to say "use BIS product, use Arma" i registered on PC-related forums, in free time i will write on more websites , today 5-6 posts in Youtube later i hope to write more (copy-paste) Codemasters did something, which BIS couldn't :D
-RIP- Luhgnut 10 Posted November 4, 2009 (edited) Good one! :D I think of OFPDR as ordering Cable TV Porn. Makes no sense, you think you're getting something, but after you get it, you wish you hadn't. Sorta like french kissing your sister. -RIP- Luhgnut 10 Posted November 4, 2009 (edited) Does the 19th point will mean the end for those mods like Ultimate AI? Yes, since it's a .dll hack, it will kill AI and any type of "modding". It checks a crc of any files used, and if it fails crc, you're punted. Doesn't address the true problem of altered code being directly injected into the datastream/memory loc's. So they screwed people over that actually made their game better. I found this code someone wrote that is supposed to fix many things. If {OFPDR-Patch} = "0"; > User{Methx, unhappy} LoadGame("Battlefield 2") = true; Set User{Methx, happy} So the "patch" didn't address any real problems reported, AI is still dumb as a rock, fixed some keyboard mapping, you can capture it with FRAPS, (which FRAPS guys fixed anyway.) didn't address any gameplay and minor bugs, and crippled their community. People are more upset than ever. Classic Codemasters. Edited November 4, 2009 by [RIP] Luhgnut
Zipper5 74 Posted November 4, 2009 LOL! It would appear it has. Man alive, Codemasters should just abandon this. Denying the community any modding access apart from mission editing is incredibly laughable. Plus, that won't stop cheaters. Most run their cheats through external programs I'd imagine. This patch isn't going to fix the game. Unless they actually make a 2nd one, which I'll be very surprised, this game will die.
myshaak 0 Posted November 4, 2009 (edited) Here is the patch fix list:... 19. The game has been modified to only use the original data to prevent cheating or hacking by modifying the configuration files. ... No improvements like lean. Only minor fixes. lol Does the 19th point will mean the end for those mods like Ultimate AI? Seems that way... The way I understood is that you'll be able to enjoy "mods" (I do not consider those AI tweaks to be mods, they are more like hacks..) only in singleplayer.. so cool  EDIT: I didn't mean to sound disrespectful to those two guys that made the AI tweaks for DR, at least somebody is trying to fix the cr*p of a game DR is.. they may have been the first and the last people to attemt to do such a thing. Zipper5 74 Posted November 4, 2009 I found something interesting: http://community.codemasters.com/forum/showthread.php?t=394526 Is it just me, or are the PC gamers not getting the same fixes that console players are? Nice job Codemasters. You just blew off your main fanbase for money. I hope you are happy, because no one else is.

This patch isn't going to fix the game. Unless they actually make a 2nd one, which I'll be very surprised, this game will die. The 2nd one has been announced but I wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't release on PC at all. Sadly, CM probably did make their money on DR (through the console sales). Even though the negative word of mouth spread fast, too many people don't read reviews etc and innocently pick it up at EB or whatever with no clue how bad it actually is. The same thing will happen to many PC MW2 customers in about 10 days. The upside (in my case) is that I only play games like CoD for the single player and it is usually quite good. If I played MP, I would NOT be happy with how either company has handled the online component.
vilas 477 Posted November 4, 2009 (edited) Luhgnut;1480742']So the "patch" didn't address any real problems reported' date=' AI is still dumb as a rock,[/quote'] oooo don't say such sad thing like that, look, they fixed display of game version and credits :) it is more important than AI, 64 limit, panzer trees, i have always been doing sinful things when watching credits tell you secret ... i rarely play, most of time i only watch credits display show and sometimes check version ;) CM do fantastic job, fixing credits is most important and without displaying version number all would be lost it is very good they are fixing most important issues, in my opinion they also should check if for example all file names have the same number of characters , cause it is also very important :D Edited November 4, 2009 by vilas
dm 9 Posted November 4, 2009 Hunt down SAM launchers hidden in the sprawling complex of ‘Lumberyard’ Just looked at this in the editor, it measures 50m x 60m, and has 2 actual buildings (the rest is stacks of lumber/crates/containers) Truly "sprawling" assault dug in PLA forces and fight room to room in ‘White Fang’ Looked at this too, the "White Fang Complex" comprises of 4 whole buildings and yet more crates/barrels etc. Isnt going to take too long to clear those rooms then... Even though the negative word of mouth spread fast, too many people don't read reviews etc and innocently pick it up at EB or whatever with no clue how bad it actually is.I guess, whether there'll be another OFP by CM will partly depend on how well the DLC offered is going to sell. I'm going to give them the 4€ for the first pack, and - depending on it's quality and my long term motivation - future packs, too.
Zipper5 74 Posted November 4, 2009 Something positive I can take away from that DLC trailer is that they're using the same music as in the launch trailer. All of their other trailers for the game had different music playing. Hopefully, that means their budget is dwindling fast. And to be frank, that DLC looks weak, even for DLC. I feel sorry for anyone who actually wants to get it.

SwiftyBoy 0 Posted November 4, 2009 Uh oh. That patch list, and the DLC, is hugely unimpressive even by the hugely unimpressive standards Codies have set themselves so far with this stinker of a title... I may just have to drive past the scene of the car crash over on the Codies' forum with the sole intention of having a good old rubberneck... apologies if you're in the car behind me.
