Island Panthera for ArmA 2

What version are you using?

Are you sure you have ibr_plants.pbo installed in the same folder as panthera2.pbo?

im using the latest arma 2 version as well as the latest panthera version.

rly not shur why it doesnt work. some huts and gastations wont open either

panthera2.pbo.ibr.bisign

arma 2 version 1.07.71750

are in thr @ panthera -> addons mod folders.

ive even started arma 2 with just panthera and CBA it still gets the same errors

steam version of arma 2 dont know if that makes any difference

I'm making a snow version of Panthera in couple of months. Are there any capable modelers out there who would dedicated couple of hours to create various snow bumps of different sizes and shapes that could be used through out the map? ;) tnx.

hmmm and how will it be with the desert & jungel parts?? I sugget you to make an Northern part with snow but its your island so you decide ;)

It would be a full convert, so entire island would be covered in snow. There are not too many trees used so they will get replaced with snow-covered versions (retex only). Jungle vegetation will be replaced with pines and beech. Too bad that we cannot simulate physics for snow like its featured in Mafia II where snow drops from carroof when you put the vehicle in motion ;)

Of course, blizzard would be cool. Map time will be set to December so bad weather automatically brings snow and fog when using Arrowhead content.

Does the game even allow for snow bumps to not be bullet proof (yet also not totally transparent to bullets)?

or you could make a crysis "snow jungel" http://pcmedia.gamespy.com/pc/image/article/901/901140/crysis-warhead-20080820032554447.jpg :D. now that would be cool but i dont think berghoff (or whats his name is) would be pretty happy if you stole his jungel vegetion (spelling) :D

Emm sweguy96, Panthera does not use Berghoff's work. I have A1 trees that I've imported directly from Sahrani :P courtesy of BIS of course.

aha i thought that the jungel vegetaion (spelling) was berghoffs & i'm pretty sure you cant do anything with BIS work either b/c you doesnt have the license

As long as you use it in other BIS games its ok.

Did you use the mlods or did you take the models straight as they are? You have all right regardless, just curious :)

I have this problem not just with panthera. I think it's the game trying to find a mission script when "running" the island as the background in the main menu, but since the mission is over it can't find the script anymore. Probably wouldn't cause any issues as it's just the background in the main menu. At least that's my guess ;)

You got it right. I found a temp solution is if when making a mission on Panthera you have units as playable only & none as player is says "no player selected" on exit instead of the "cant find UPS" error which look less buggy.

Just started using Panthera again after a long time and notice that in the RPT file I am getting a lot of the following warnings appearing:

Warning: Road selection asf10 25_0.05 has wrong name format
Warning: Road selection asf10 100_0.05 has wrong name format
Warning: Road selection asf10 75_0.05 has wrong name format

Icebreaker Re; the "UPS not found" on Panthera Would an intro for this island fix the problem?????

ps No loadscreen or outro or whatever you call it for when you finish a mission on Panthera. Your other islands dont have this problem?:bounce3:

Its not a island bug, its BIS bug. When you play mission with such a script as UPS.sqf and then return to the main menu your old mission gets loaded but such script is not included in the "AI demo" rolling in the back of menu ;)

BearBison: thats strange, are you sure you're not using CAA or any other mods?

No addons running other than the island, only thing is it is with OA/BAF now rather than just A2.

Any clues on how to get ambient civilians functioning on this island? I tried ALICE and ALICE (Expansion) with debug mode - I can see the markers are present to spawn civilians, but none ever seem to spawn. Same seems to go for Isla Duala.

Fatty86: well, Panthera doesn't have any "alice-compatible" buildings present or very few I should say. But there are other ways to spawn civilians via scripting.

Duala should have working civilians via standard Alice (Ambient Civilians module) but you need Duala full version (not Lite).

So far I didn't manage to find time to make a desert of winter versions on this popular map based on RL data.
