echo1 0 Posted September 17, 2009 Yeah, one doesn't need to be an expert in camouflage to realize that wearing this is going to cause you problems. It gives the army a unique look away from the other branches. Perhaps they should go back to red coats and plumed bronze helmets :p
Binkowski 26 Posted September 17, 2009 I'd like to go back to the good old tri-color BDU's, but that's just me. Anyway, just some more WIP fixed a lot of issues with my units and adding more units. Expect a release soon!
Fudgeblood 10 Posted September 17, 2009 Yeah, one doesn't need to be an expert in camouflage to realize that wearing this is going to cause you problems. Maybe they use it to make the enemies think "A military would have to be stupid to use that camo! They must be a group of civilians playing airsoft" :p
Clavicula_nox4817 0 Posted September 17, 2009 I'd like to go back to the good old tri-color BDU's, but that's just me. Anyway, just some more WIP fixed a lot of issues with my units and adding more units. Expect a release soon! The only thing that worked better than my tri-color DCUs was the Marine's desert pattern. We'll see if Multicam beats the new UCP-Delta pattern, but I doubt that the Army will switch to the Crye pattern. The uniforms are almost double the cost of ACUs (which were almost double the cost of BDUs...) and I'm sure some crony is having his palms greased for getting the UCP approved. echo1 0 Posted September 17, 2009 I remember reading somewhere that there was a public tender competition for the camo. The camo that eventually became UCP was consistently voted the worst one in all tests, yet they decided to ignore the better ones and just modify the dud one... suhsjake 1 Posted September 17, 2009 This UCP Delta looks like they rubbed dog poo on it. Why, Why would the Army even consider this garbage.

Clavicula_nox4817 0 Posted September 17, 2009 http://www.scribd.com/doc/19823845/Photosimulation-Camouflage-Detection-TestTest results from the Army. Good link, I caught the story from Army Times the other day. There are a few other patterns they tested that I like, but it seems that Multicam is one of the high performers. No real surprise there. desertjedi 3 Posted September 17, 2009 (edited) Binkowski, I love the new uniforms and am currently using them. I think the A2 originals look like cat barf. So far, I've encountered one mission where some of my AI mates are wearing the old ACUs and some are wearing your new ones. I'm assuming that this has nothing to do with your mod but with the mission itself. Just wanted to bring this to your attention. You can see the situation here. Is that because not all classes have been defined? I'm just starting to read through this long thread. Edited September 17, 2009 by DesertJedi

That would be because the two units on the left are Force Recon, and I did not replace them with the replacement pack. The replacement pack only replaces the regular USMC troops. AnimalMother92 10 Posted September 18, 2009 Hey Binkowski, i know there have been a couple comments about the arma 1 backpacks so i'm just throwing some screens your way from Americas Army 3 (worse game than Arma 2 i know). maybe theyll be useful, just food for thought i guess. Since the game is made by the US Army I would hope the gear is fairly accurate. enjoy: http://i139.photobucket.com/albums/q295/macmeister92/AA3Game2009-09-1722-47-02-45.jpg http://i139.photobucket.com/albums/q295/macmeister92/AA3Game2009-09-1722-47-14-00.jpg http://i139.photobucket.com/albums/q295/macmeister92/AA3Game2009-09-1722-47-35-04.jpg

Binkowski 26 Posted September 22, 2009 Thanks for the mirrors everyone, just a few words. Already working on an update for you guys, this one will include a nice little surprise of a weapon pack, small and simple. But realistic. Sorry, but I'm a realism freak. Palehorse1 10 Posted September 22, 2009 Binkowski, It may very well be "insufficient operator headspace" on my end but I see the following error when I place your crewmember in the editor. Best wishes, Palehorse1
