You can do that by making non shining areas pitch black in the specular map.

Sorry, I phrased that kind of badly, replace where I said "shiny" with "reflective", Im not entirely sure as I havent used cubemaps alot but im quite interested in them at the moment, I think the cubemap stage is usually seperate from the specular stage, so that its possible for areas of a surface to have specular but with no reflection and vice-versa.

One way is of course to make two different rvmats. If you for example want to take the cubemap effect away from wheels just give them different rvmat in Oxygen. That will however lead to increased section count but if you have only a few sections it won't make much difference in performance :).

Is this project still rolling?

I remember Rocket (after some people reminded him :p ) said that he'll try to finish it up and release.

I'm hoping he didn't forget again :D

He has already finished and released an internal beta for USEC people. Maybe he will release this for the public soon

wow that plane looks so realistic! and the prop thing is also cool! :)

could you please make a modification so the rotor thing works on the helicopters too? then we could do this :D

Something like this was done for ArmA1 in ACE, so I imagine it can or is already in the works, maybe even for ACE2.

why dont u use the arma 1 version? works fine in arma 2

This is awesome, I love the Maule since Mikko M.'s (I can't spell it properly so I'll abbreviate lol) for FS2002/FS2004.

I hope the flight model is fairly realistic, I fear what "STOL" might mean to the Arma flight model - this is a high-performance airplane but it's not going to do any Super Cub 50ft takeoff stunts lol.

It's in the final stages of testing. At the moment, we're using the ACE sound for the propeller chop so just waiting on a new sound file for it then we'll release. If anyone wants to help with testing PM me.
