Inkompetent 0 Posted October 21, 2009 That isn't very realistic. And all addons have to be realistic? ;)
Daniel 0 Posted October 21, 2009 The VTOL does need boosting slightly so we can do proper carrier landings. At the moment you can only really descend, you can't hover and recover from slight movements. Check out how the Royal Navy land their Harriers in real life. Will check Opticalsnare's addon. Commando84 0 Posted October 22, 2009 well its not realistic but its fun :)
vilas 477 Posted October 22, 2009 And all addons have to be realistic? ;) in my opinion it depends what is idea of addon: - if person A says "my addon is about army of country X from today/year XXXX" than it must be realistic, otherwise we criticize it - if person A do addon of "Czernarus soldiers" than he can hipotically equip them with version of weapons produced for Czernarus , soldiers should keep Soviet neighbors style roots etc. if Czernarus is placed near and is ex-USSR country - if person A makes sci-fi mod - he is 100% free to fantasy :) so it depends of thing you do if you do historic mod or mod about real army, you should be realistic if you do addon about future, about fictional country (RACS MOD) than you do what you want, but with some "rational roots" for example : if we agree that Sahrani is Spanish-talking country, placed somewhere like Latin America, than FALs, G3 will appear there if Czernarus is ex-USSR than AK... and if country is cooperating with USA now probably uses M-16, M-4 and such like for example when i read BIS history version, that Chernarus was independent and since 70's in conflict with USSR, but Russia is neighbor, than i thought following way for 1985 Chernarussians: - they don't like too much USSR - but they are socialist country, country like Warsaw Pact countries - they are poor country so what they done ? they bought manufacture production line from Poland and use old Polish uniforms, they bought from Czechs SA58 (to support politically after 1968) they ordered short barrel version for tank crew it was my way of thoughts
max power 21 Posted October 22, 2009 My personal thought on it is that making addons is art and you shouldn't limit yourself to other peoples' guidelines. I, personally, really like realism but if a supersonic harrier makes you happy, then go for it.

norsu 180 Posted October 23, 2009 if it is your 3-rd model ever, tell me, how you were able to create corpus ??hole and etc. how is it possible to create such shape in oxygen for someone who is total beginner ? You can carve in Oxygen but judging from the simplicity of geometry, I'd say the hole is hand made :). Carving tends to give more complex results but it works too. Are you referring to the hole in the stock? Yep it's handmade ( like anything else beside cilinders ). The scope and the mount "rings" are made from the same cilinder, just scaled up and flattened to the sides, the "sight adjustament box" is made from circles copied from the cilinder and scaled when needed, maybe not the best metod but it's quite nice for me ---------- Post added at 11:50 AM ---------- Previous post was at 11:48 AM ---------- matter is other, he said it is his 3-rd model ever, it means, previously he made only 2 in his life, so good for third model in life Ehi thanks :D Being told that from such a modelling pro i'm flattered :o you can see my previous model in the o2 editing section if you want :p

thesun 14 Posted October 23, 2009 Here's something I've been working on for our Czech Army SF: It has reached 5786 faces in 7 sections so far. Except any implementation of damage system, it's prety much functional with custom anims.
