I know its a little early but if the modders out there are listning here are some aircraft i'd love to see in Arma 2

Army's new LUH145

OH58D observation

Apache A or D model

RAH66 Commanche

Kawasaki OH-1 Light Scout and Observation Helicopter

CH53 stallion

CH47 chinook

CH54 SKYCRANE

The US Army hasn't used the UH-1H or the OH-58A in quite some time. :)

The LUH-145 was designed for a National Guard requirement as a lightweight utility helicopter, under the premise of not using it in combat (yeah, right).

I believe it is the first European helicopter in US Army service, but not the first one for the entire US military. I think the Coast Guard was the first to adopt a European designed helicopter.

I'd prefer the AH-64D Longbow, it's more advanced than the AH-64A.

The AH-64A was the old, original variant used by the U.S. Army.

RAH-66 Comanche.

The RAH-66 Comanche was cancelled and only two were ever built.

It'll be like having the XM-8 assault rifle in the game. Oh wait... :D

CH-47 Chinook.

A CH-46 Sea Knight would be better in my opinion because ArmA 2 has the player playing as U.S. Marines and not U.S. Army Soldiers, and the CH-47 Chinook is a U.S. Army helicopter.

However, the CH-46 Sea Knight is going to be replaced by the V-22 Osprey in the U.S. Marine Corps and replaced the MH-60S Knighthawk in the U.S. Navy. Both the V-22 Osprey and MH-60S Knighthawk are already included in ArmA 2, so I don't think that a CH-46 is really all that needed.

CH-53 Stallion.

I agree with you 100% on having the CH-53 Stallion in ArmA 2. I'd love to see it in ArmA 2, as it's used by both the U.S. Navy and U.S. Marine Corps, which the player can both play as.

Overall, nice list you got there, now all we have to do is wait for some really talented modders to make the helicopters. :)

I'm gonna throw a bit of an oddball out there and mention the AS565 Panther or the Panther 800 would be interesting, though somewhat unrealistic, additions for modders.

Instead of more helicopters, I would rather see the existing ones have higher fidelity in terms of fire control and ballistics computers and that sort of thing.

I dont care if only two commanches were built... its a game... and i could write a mission saying the program was never cancelled, you have to fly in fast and stealthy to complete your primary mission blah blah blah and this is the only aircraft capable blah blah blah....

I want my complete list for various reasons lol...

The commanche was a real life project built for the military with retractable weapons pods to limit its radar signature and a super quiet set of blades ... airwolf is just a bell 222 with a body kit and a bunch of fictional bs capabilities...

My point is that Hitler's Landkreuzer P1000 was also a real life project and noone feels an urge to bring it to the World War 2 gaming enviroment. They built two units of Commanche, and these didn't meet expectations, and considering costs of implementation of that project into the regular army is same fantasy story like having a Death Star right above Sahrani. Seriously, does the "cool look" is everything needed to state that this is "must have" on realistic battlefield simulator? Does it mean, that if someone likes something for whatever reason is obligated to waste time on modelling objects? Man, if someone is big fan of that project and has skill - he will probably do it anyway, but if you are expecting, that anyone will start working on it, cause someone posted a demand on forum, thou shall rethink.

Yeah, my post was poorly worded... but there's a ballistics computer mod for tanks, right? And ACE has some rudimentary missile fire control stuff.

if you dont like my thread feel free to leave and create your own... those are aircraft that are just my wishlist, and at least they are real compared to the death star crap you mention. i dont care if you think its not worthy or realistic enough for you... you dont have to mod your game on your pc but most of us like to make changes...

I'd like it so i could write a mission like a group finished the project and completed the heli and your mission is to take it out blah blah.... this is what i want, my wishlist, feel free to add your own aircraft to the list but if you dont like mine or my ideas, to bad....

Yeah, in storage - which they're planning to be rid of in a few years.

More Russian stuff. Most people seem to be asking for all kinds of additional US vehicles but tend to forget the other side of the coin. In the end we'd have 50 US helos to choose from vs 5 Russian ;). I'm not very knowledgable of Russian military equipment, so I can't really provide any specific examples. Just a thought.
