Not well. I'm pretty sure the minimum requirement is dual-core.

However, the single GPU is still extremely fast and the second is there IF need be.

Unless you have a 30" monitor, you are more than likely not going to need that extra power. There's the argument that it provides extra future-proofing, but to be honest, you're better off getting one single-GPU card now and another one in 18 months time. Works out as a better deal in the long run.

if i play with a lower res , id expect better fps right? say at 1024x768 or 1280x1024? i have a 17inch monitor and most games only look good at 1024x768..

Pentium 4 twin threaded 3.4ghz with an AGP based ATI Radeon X1650 pro 512 mb card will run it at lowest settings on 1200 by 800 at 16:10 ratio. but you will want to upgrade.

Ok heres the stats:

CPU: AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4000+, MMX, 3DNow (2 CPUs), ~2.1GHz

Memory: 3582MB RAM DDR2 800Mhz

Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GT (slightly overclocked, special boxed BFG edition)

Operating System: Windows XP

Motherboard:GeForce6100SM-M

Hi again. Been changing a few things to hopefully get the best I can from ARMA2 with my crappy cpu etc...

For the first time ever I did some overclocking, got my cpu to 2.35GHZ from 2.1GHZ. I can't go any further as my mobo is awful for overclocking, I cant change voltage to get the frequency to run higher. Nor the multiplier.

Also i increased my DRAM frequency from 200MHZ to 400MHZ. Also bought a 2006 SATA 500GB hard drive to replace my 2001 80GB ATA one...

Did a performance test in CoH (hard drive not installed yet) and with everything on max my FPS went from an average of 30 to 40. SO am quite happy with that.

Anyway the reason am posting here is to see if you think this will make a difference to playing ARMA2. Am hoping i will gain at least a increase in my FPS by a bit but am no expert so what do you think? Also when I get ARMA2 my hard drive will be installed and i shall have ARMA2 on it.

Your fine. Your RAM is fine, your video card is fine, your CPU is fine.

If there was a bottleneck it might be the CPU as it's not THAT fast. I have a Q6600 2,4 Ghz and experiencing hicups in urban area with many AI... but when in the editor, I can have all on high with only a 8800GTX.

I believe a 3ghz dual core performs better than a 2,4Ghz quadcore most of the time.

8GB is meant to cause problems with ArmA2, so I'd definitely stick with 4.

probably mostly low , some med but you need to switch your OS to xp 32bit, and upgrade your cpu to a better dual core , and gfx card. to get at least med-high
